  1. Nice shiney jack.. i need a new one. The limp-wristed piece of crap of a jack that came with the car collapsed on me last week when i was changing a wheel at 4 in the morning, bending itself and part of the body whilst wedging itself between the wheel and the inner arch.
  2. Update.. Turns out it was just the CV joint. I am now a happier bunny.
  3. Thanks davidwort for the info, the car is at the garage waiting for a backlog of work to clear.. might be a while.
  4. Many things just happen to 'go' on my car and they just 'go' in a short space of time. I'll stop whining now and go to bed.
  5. 4 way.. his car's muscling in on the action. I think its a jealousy thing.
  6. She does take care of it.. as the big hole in my bank account and sizeable credit card bill will testify. She just doesn't get the time  One day it'll be great!
  7. I think mine definitely looks better without the plastic door strips but its starting to look like a ruler or something with all the marks down the side.
  8. They probably stole them thinking they were the ultra rare Karmann ones.
  9. i've got a spare set of wheels, i'm not that far away if you're interested
  10. I've got a Powerflow with a cat bypass (£340) - big improvement. Make sure you keep the catalytic converter or your MOT will get expensive as i recently found out.
  11. I feel very safe in my Corrado. Its taken a few knocks which are barely noticable compared to the damage its done to other cars (not always my fault). I think the biggest problem is that new cars are packed with so many safety features that people see it as a green light to drive like an idiot. The potential benefits of any safety features are offset by the false sense of immortality that comes with 5 NCAP stars. They can make cars as safe as they want but as long as the inherent selfish " i'm alright Jack" attitude is with us, the number of deaths on the road won't go down. (Guess who's been cut up too many times today?) My peace. Consider it said. Kate
  12. Ignore them, older isn't necessarily wiser. You won't get the same grin with a generic skip even if its a new skip.
  13. I rarely check my tyres, i know when the pressure is wrong like it is now, i've got them a bit on the high side trying to get a few more metres to the gallon. The water gets checked when the light comes on and the oil gets checked when it starts beeping on quick corners. I don't like having to go under the bonnet because the release seems really flakey like its going to give up.
  14. I think i'd have an Alfa, probably a GT or a 147 GTA. In red as all Alfas should be.
  15. I've had my ebay bargain BBS RX's for about 3 years and they've finally been refurbished and look all shiney and new. Nice. The centre caps however were a lost cause i thought and so i set about looking for replacements but then realised how much they were. With the MOT looming and tax due i tought i'd save a few quid and just get some stickers. As it turns out, a bit of sanding in the kitchen and a hairdryer produces a fairy good result especially as the surface is a bit convex. Now lets see how long they last. Kate
  16. I'd rather have one of these. http://www.infomotori.co.uk/a_6_EN_16832_2.html Hope they don't change it.
  17. Its round the back of Ashburys garage on Ashton Old Road, it changes every week.
  18. yours is a VR so they'll obviously be faster!
  19. I realised my seatbelts were no good when i drove a new car, unclipped the belt and the buckle went passed my face at about 90mph and nearly took my nose off.
  20. Mine are a bit crap as well. And they get damp when it rains so i guess there's a hole somewhere.
  21. I don't have the luxury of another car yet but i'm getting my wheels refurbished next week i can't face them anymore, they're embarassing.
  22. You've taken the first step, you've thought about it. You will now see more corrados than you would normally. (not too many to make it common though) You will then crack and buy one. From then on your spare time, money and your once clean hands will no longer be your own. You will however develop a permanent smirk from ear to ear because you know you made the right decision. People will be looking at you but don't worry, its all good... unless there's steam or smoke but thats something that usually happens to me. Buy one, even its a shed, its still better than most cars out there and you know it.
  23. I like but then again, i'm a girl. Bet its chepaer than the lupo i wanted.
