This is how it looks for me in Chrome when logged in...

And my IE8, logged out... looks different to yours!

Nice work Andi, just donated £10like what you have done
Thank you very much! :)
And I'm glad you all seem to be liking it.
I've tweaked the "stay logged in" amount from 2 hours to 12 hours - so you shouldn't need to log in quite so much now... You'll just have to visit twice a day.. Haha!
-
Just tweaked the signature height a bit - hopefully looks better in IE. I have IE8 here and it looks fine....
And those with issues with the login bar, etc...
I can't replicate this in IE8, so I'm a bit stuck with that. Can you force Compatibility Mode?
The site looks fine in Firefox and Chrome for me.. as it does in IE8!
-
As above, I really like the colour scheme and it looks like we can reply directly in the classifieds :cheers:Parts, yes. Cars, no. :)
looking good Andi... although text style in the login box is black, which makes it difficult to see what youve typed with it being a black background :)IE 9
Use a better browser?! lol.
I'll look into IE, but suspect it's just being stupid.
It actually looks fine in IE8..
-
You forgot to mention, classifieds can now be viewed via Tapatalk !Good work
One advantage of the new system, yes!
Looks good. But does this mean no Corrado pics at the top?Afraid so. I have some other plans coming up though, don't worry, your bandwidth isn't safe yet... lol
I like the update, think it looks good. Seems to take forever to change screens, i.e I clicked on the link to this topic and it took about 3 mins to show it.That is lag on the server. We know what happens when the site hangs, but we don't know how to fix it presently... Previously, you would've just seen the CloudFlare message.
I'm sure we'll track that down very soon as it's quite annoying! ;)

Nice one Andi, like it :DEarly days I know but just a heads up... there's an alignment problem... at least there is on my browser. Chrome.

Are you using an Ad Blocker?
there's issues with all the pics in the cars/parts for sale ad's.. they are showing the wrong photos!I'll get that sorted tomorrow. Issue with the Import script it looks like.
Thanks for the feedback so far, guys!

Well, looks a bit different now doesn't it?
Tonight sees the release of the new Classifieds system, and a new design.
The Classifieds is still a Work-In-Progress, but is open for Car Sales of Corrados (not others at the moment) and Parts & Breaking as before.
Any cars or parts for sale in the old Classified system have been imported into the new listing, unless they were over 3 months old.
I have less drastic changes coming very soon too.
It's late, I need sleep (as I work 9-6 in a 'normal' job as well as this!) so I'm off, but feel free to leave feedback here.
Thanks, all. And if you like it and haven't donated yet... *hint* :)
-
thanks andiThe old Classifieds have now been decommissioned.
Please find the advert in the new section and contact the owner via PM.
Note: only adverts less than 3 months old have been transferred.

Tapatalk issue should now be resolved.
The new Cloud DNS system was reporting everyone as one IP address, so when one person failed to log in, EVERYONE got the failure.. ;)
Real IPs are now being reported to vBulletin, so it should work fine now...
Let me know! :)

much better... might want to add a redirect for direct.thecorrado.com back to the main site if not already done for those who have it saved in their favouries...I'll still keep it as a direct 'just in case' for now.
I needed it earlier to actually log into the Admin panel due the IP issue above.. lol!

Excellent.I still found I had issues until I reverted my DNS NS back to the ones of my ISP, but will see how things go...
Yup - I did think that might be the case. I'm going to look into it tonight to see if there's a 'live' DNS solution. The one thing about 123reg is that their DNS updates are rather slow... Used to love that with CloudFlare and OpenDNS, a new sub-domain was live (for me, at least) in less than a minute!
I might try this instead: http://www.incapsula.com/

Problem being, unless you know you can get in via direct.thecorrado.net you are loosing page views as people cannot get on...one of the reasons I disabled it on vr6oc.com
As of last night, CloudFlare is now disabled - so let's see how the site runs without it...

Hi all,
I've received a few emails about people who are struggling to stay logged in on the forum - it keeps asking for their username and password.
I was receiving the same myself, so I looked into the settings to see if there was anything I could do but alas, the only solution is to clear the cookies stored in your browser.
Once you've done this, and logged back in, you should be fine. I think the upgrade to the recent version of vBulletin (the software this site runs) has caused the issue.
A quick wipe, and you'll be good to go :)

My VR (the reason why I setup this site, all those years ago) I sold on 245k miles... If looked after, the engine goes on and on....
Was original chains too - and as others will testify - it sounded quieter than those who'd had their chains done, etc... ;)
-
Ha, love the fact I'm not even mentionned.....
*currently in Mexico
-
Agreed, it's all The_Dude's fault.
The seller has to click a link confirming the item as sold.. ;)
But yes, as Jim sneaked... changes are afoot. And ahand. And maybe atesticle.
-
Just wondered if anyone knows if this ad and member is real? He's selling a 28k mile VR6 in the classifieds. No reply to PMs or email? Tried to find him on the members list, not there? Is it someone having a laugh?http://the-corrado.net/member.php?19456-pcjowett

The 'archive' is back - so any links that point to the old site should now work again.
Next job... well, I won't tell you all. You'll just found out. And probably be happy. Annoyingly.

Who's this "Andy" bloke? ;)
Maybe I could remove it from each post and just have it on the pages? Less calls, then...
---------- Post added at 08:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:39 PM ----------
How's that running?
Not on every post now - just one call per page...

At work, not a chance. Googleupdate.exe is not allowed through the firewall.Get Chrome Portable.
No install mess, all still works, and leaves no trace.. ;)

I don't even have a list andiThen you don't have the Advanced Editor. In your preferences.
If you're an iPad user - you can't have it all, I'm afraid!
Yeah IE is not the best, that's for sure :D I hate it in fact, when it gets stuck on something and just sits there hogging all the processor threads and memory. Can anyone recommend a decent browser that's lightweight, fast and doesn't try and take over my desktop? I used to use Opera and Firefox but they've gone all 'IE' fatness these days and they don't support a lot of Sharepoint controls, which I need for work.
Not a Chrome lover then?
-
Probably totally irrelevant but wheres all the emoticons gone?If you want the full list, you need to 'Go Advanced' then click [More] under the smilies on the right.
Was very slow and clunky for me on IE7. IE8 showed a marked improvement but it still slows up pulling the adverts down, for me at least. This is on my work machine. IE9 on Windoze 7 at home is about the same. No where near as quick as it used to be on the old format. Forums engines, like operating systems, are becoming far too bloated these days. The amount of data vB uses for each page is immense in comparison to phpBB. All the CSS, Javascript, Mod tools we have, etc etc etc... so yes, it is a lot more to churn through. And IE is slow at processing any site with Javascript, so you'll be the bottleneck on that one.
The CF Update: New design, new classifieds & more to come!

And just for the complete test - Firefox ;)
(Which at work, bounces me via the states - hence the 'Yahoo Autos' Google ad...)

They all work and display as they should...which does make testing rather awkward if that's not what you're seeing..
