  2. Interesting, Jay...

Looks like we're not alone - there's certainly a lot of forums with threads EXACTLY like this and no solution.

Maybe the amazing Renshaw has found a clue... ;)

Right, I've blocked adverts from "uk.hosting.adjug.com" from displaying.

    That should help..... Feedback, please!

  3. I know a lot of you will be running their Corrado on a Classic Car or Second Car policy, so there's still the mundane task of sorting Insurance on the 'normal' driver, or maybe the Mrs' car, etc.

There's lots of comparing sites - but so far the one site that's always returned the best rate for searching for mine, girlfriend's, parents, etc etc insurance is Quidco.

For those that don't know, Quidco is a great site for claiming cash back when shopping online - and even in store high street stores.

If you don't need Insurance yet - at least click here and get an account setup!

Their Insurance Comparing Search Engine thingy is just like the others - but really helps by also listing the cashback they will pay you if you use their site - as much as £50 off the premium in some case.

And then if you want to get Sky or Virgin or a new phone contract, you can get upto £150 just for clicking through Quidco...

    Worth a look! :)

  4. Is this a good time to mention I ensure the Audi 3.2 for £342 full comp, protected no claims (11yrs), 8k miles a year, driveway, Surrey postcode, SDP + commute.

    No?? Oh, ok...

    ;)

(It pays to be in your 30s with lots of no claims and a standard car, albeit 245bhp Quattro beast!)

  5. vBulletin doesn't like doing searches on words

The database is 12gb, and making it reindex to take into account 3 letter words takes 24 hours per pass, whilst bringing the site to a crawl.

The site is indexed by Google at least once a week. Your best bet is to use Google and the keyword

    site:the-corrado.net

    Hope that helps ;)

In addition to this the following has been performed / replaced / purchased

    • £2000 respray with another £1000 on replacement rubber trim / window seals / roof drainage plastic/rubbers etc... (Spare/leftover paint tin will be provided to the new owner should they need the perfect colour match for any further spray repairs in the future).

    • Retrim of interior plastics in genuine perforated black alcantara (see owner thread) - cost me over £800 and muchos hours!

    • New genuine VW sunroof seal

There are lots of little items here and there which I have forgotten, but as mentioned before I have a fully documented history with all the parts I have purchased for the car in an excel spreadsheet. This can be provided to the new owner to maintain the history.

As with every car, there are some negatives:

1 small chip in windscreen. This has never caused me a problem and has in fact been like that for over two years (it happened a month after the new windscreen was fitted in 2010!)

Rear Wheel bearing was marked as having slight play in last MOT so could probably do with being replaced.

ABS light stays on. VAGCOM indicated wheel sensors need replacing. This is probably one mechanical / electrical item I never bothered addressing as many people have mentioned the Corrado ABS is not all that great when it is working. Stopping power on the car is great anyway and the car brakes as straight as an arrow.

Driver side seat bolter needs replacement bolster (foam bolster will be supplied to new owner)

One small chip on leading edge of bonnet (2mm in size)

Right parcel shelf rubber support has snapped (the left one is fine)

Small scrape on front bumper where some muppet scraped past the car (it is about 5mm x 10mm)

    Price:

£4500 (with all in car audio)

£4200 (without Phoenix Gold amp, Mac Audio sub and Infinity Speakers/doorpods - the original unmodified doorpods will be provided)

Car will come with original HELLA rear lights and a host of other original parts.
