  1. Love to mate the Corrado shape to that superb 3.0 24 V6 Alfa engine and then for good measure stick a supercharger on it courtesy of Autodelta - that would get me the perfect coupe
  2. I have driven one of the German market only TT's that were ABT tweaked and sold through the dealer network - think they were pushing out about 265-270BHP but still as dull as ditchwater.
  3. Working with Audi dealers as I do they are forever complaining about the TT's - general view is that they are the worst made and most unreliable Audi of the last 25 years - I'd but the GTV and the money I'd have saved will help pay for the greater depreciation and servicing costs. I also wouldn't feel a tit driving a GTV like I would with a TT
  4. Only ever had two Alfa's - a 1.5 Sud that was a fabulous drive but I could hear it disintegrating around me and then a 155 2.0 with the Sport Pack, red with the black speedlines that was a superb drive - only had it for 3 months and then lost my bottle and sold it before it broke Have been seriously tempted by 166's recently though
  5. .... sorting out the loft in advance of the house move today and unearthed: 398 motoring / motorsport books, 246 of them being Alfa Romeo 328 Alfa Romeo models - mainly 1/43 In excess of 2,000 Alfa brochures and Press Packs Seems a shame to move house and stick them back in the loft but already have over 100 motoring books on the bookcases
  6. I'm sure the Corrado Channel would be subscription only and at twice the price of any other
  7. I don't think there is any European stock of these - I believe JMR bought the last couple of sets available anywhere
  8. Amazing - channel 259 - The Audi Channel - very clever (but expensive) bit of marketing
  9. No - bloke behid the counter laughed, said he had more requests for Corrado models from foreigners than any other VW
  10. Picked this up when in Rome - found a shop that had over 200 VW models - could have spent a fortune
  11. Wonder how long before this engine first appears in a Rado
  12. I'm certainly pleased that VW are investing in the future of the petrol engine but every manufacturer bar none produces whole ranges of vehicles that cannot meet their official fuel consumption figures in real world conditions - its not the fault of the manufacturers but the testing procedures that allow artificial figures to be produced and then used for marketing purposes. I can't remember the last time I measured my fuel consumption on a rolling road I'm certainly looking forward to seeing full road tests of this engine - early reports are very positive and its nice to see VW doing something different from the mainstream - lets hope that VW aren't going down a blind alley with this, it will certainly be interesting to see what the publics response is like
  13. The stated combined average for the Rado G60 was 36.6 - I don't think many people are seeing that. Lots of bad press lately about stated combined averages not being achievable in the real world. With ever rising fuel costs I think people are giving much more thought to economy and its about time that the tests were changed - I think its ridiculous that all of these figures are acheived on rolling roads, therefore no drag etc to take into account
  14. Interesting engineering but I'd bet my life that it won't average 40mpg in real world conditions. I do not know of one vehicle sold or currently on sale that achieves the stated figures - I reckon most magazines will be reporting low to mid 30's, not bad for a car with 170BHP but my 14 year Rado averages 31mpg

    tow bars?

I'm in West Sussex about half an hour from JMR. Dropping off my Nugget G60 at my dads on the 22nd as in the middle of a house move and have to somehow get three cars up to the new house - will be flying back after dropping the car off

    tow bars?

If hes got it I will happily pick it up, I'm going to Warrington on 22nd October so we could arrange to meet and I can hand it over
  17. Getting these replaced in the next few weeks, better to be safe than sorry, moving up to Shropshire costing me a fortune - both cars booked in with JMR for services plus bits and pieces like new rear discs, bearings and at long last my toothed belt drive - stopped adding up how much I've spent
  18. Tried it out today and have to say that I'm very impressed, just doesn't feel natural not having to use the chamois and still be left with a totally streak free car
  19. Most Audiwheels of that era were Speedlines
  20. Only place in position as yet, should be easy to fit, just two chunky bolts each side
  21. Good to see a nice, clean and original Rado
  22. Being the new man that I am I was doing the shopping this evening and discovered that Tesco are now doing the Flash Car Wash System at a new price of £9.97, just less than half price, I got one as I've heard good reports but thought it was over-priced at £20.00
  23. My order is in - wanted to get something done like this but been unable to find anyone - didn't want "just a photo"
