  1. From the website they seem like a decent company and certainly seem to have a good selection of potential replacements for the wifes Audi Cab but don't want to trawl all the way over if I'm going to be disappointed http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/enaje/index.htm
  2. You've obviously got doubts, I have always go by the principle of "In in doubt walk away" - theres a lot of good Rados for sale, go and buy one from someone that you feel 100% comfortable with, thats what I did and have not regretted it
  3. Mine got an Opti-Mate battery conditioner and a new set of front indicators and fog lights to go into my freshly painted Reiger front bumper
  4. Good artists impressions in the latest issue of CAR, very appealling

    New blower is sh**e

Did you put it on the right way round, I made the mistake of putting it on the wrong way round and the output was next to useless
  6. Golf is now a very bland Eurobox, I know they drive well but I really don't find them that appealling when compared to a Rado
  7. VR6 at Harwoods petrol station in Five Oaks last night

    VR6

No factory produced 2.8 EU Corrados, I no they were never cross utilised - no one has ever been able to explain why

    VR6

Does anyone know why the Golf VR6 was 2.8 litre whilst the Rado was 2.9, common sense says they should have shared the same. If the 2.9 was superior why did it not go into the Golf?
  10. Mate was exhibiting at the NEC shows and said it was awful, very poorly attended and zero atmosphere, I'd have thought Earls Court would be better
  11. The 1.6 Lotus Twin Cam was based on the Ford crossflow engine, Harry Munday was the man behind its conversion to Twin Cam spec. The later 2.0 / 2.2 litre Lotus Twin Cam was based very loosely on a Vauxhall block IIRC and first saw service in the Jensen-Healey, although many people will argue that there was no Vauxhall base - seems to be a classic case of urban myth and rumour.
  12. All the recent good Ford engines have all been subject to outside influences: Twin Cam - Lotus BDA - Cosworth Zetec 1.7 - Yamaha 24V V6 - Cosworth Duratec 1.8 / 2.0 - Mazda Ford seem able to build strong engines but engines that add rather than detract from the driving experience seem to be very few and far between
  13. No confirmation on the R36 - there is a 3.6 litre V6 being produced for US spec Passats and it is logical that it will go into the Golf but no official line on this
  14. MK IV GTis are taking a really hammering in the guides at the moment and R32 prices are definitely showing signs of easing up too - I'd take a MK IV R32 over the new one every time
  15. Only my thoughts: First impressions: Deathly dull to look at, admittedly it was metallic black 5 door. Front end is particularly disappointing, the squat stance and subtle aggression of the previous R32 has been replaced by a tippy toe exec look, the aluminium effect grille looks extremely heavy handed Side on it looks just like a bog standard MK V with a set of 18" rims which in themselves are going to be an absolute pig to keep clean. From the rear the smoked rear lenses are smart but VW seems to have gone down the "fashion" route with the centre tailpipes which on the car I drove were already tarnished (the car had less than 50 miles on the clock) Interior wise, the aluminium effect trim looked like it was a refugee from Hafords, especially around the ashtray area in front of the gearlever. It was fitted with the optional sports seats that looked great but the interior has none of the rock solid quality and general "rightness" about it that the MK IV had in spades Driving impressions - remember this was a brand new car: Steering - light but very accurate, lovely steering wheel Ride - firm but with an underlying suppleness to it, great compromise seems to have been reached but a lot of prospective owners may find it a bit too firm Handling - very neutral, seemed more progressive than the previous R32, transfer of power to the rear wheels seemed much more immediate and unobtrusive Engine - gorgeous exhaust note and a nice snarl when extended whilst at the same time as being very refined at a cruising speed, felt hampered by the weight it was having to lug around Transmission - it was a DSG, seemed much snappier than the one I tried in an A3 3.2 twelve months ago Refinement - very quiet, little wind noise but there were a few squeaks from bits of trim in the cabin Summary - the exterior and interior styling would put me off, very pleasant driving experience but not good enough to override the slightly "chav" feel to the grille, exhausts and interior trim. I felt that the GTI was hardly any slower, pointier and more chuckable chasis and still a great chassis. I'd take a nicely specced GTI and pocket the difference for a re-map and Milltek
  16. ...."The cars look identical......thats because they are.......apart from the colour schemes" - did not realise how much I've missed him
  17. Was going to watch it live on Motors TV but the commentators are so poor I'd rather watch just the highlights with Murray Walker commentating

  19. If its any consolation, I'm running a 140,000 mile G60 as an everyday car and racking up about 800-1000 miles per week with no problems whatsoever. Would struggle to go back to a blandmobile
  20. They are brand new as are the pods, only paid £150 for the lot
  21. Welcome to the forum A 1990 Rado - 190k miles - thats about what you'd expect for a car of that age doing an average mileage. All depends on how its been maintained - it could be great, it could be a dog, look for lots of receipts and history No easy way of disconnecting supercharger but it can be done, would you really want to drive a Corrado with 90 bhp though!!!!! If you do 10,000 miles a year, you'll go four years between charger rebuilds at £400 a time, thats £2 per week - not exacly expensive I'm sure members on here would be happy to look at a G60 with / for you if you asked nicely :D
  22. Recently bought a set of Alpine SPR-176A's to go into some Audioscape pods. Have now acquired these complete with Focal 165a's for a bargain price. Which speakers do I keep and which do I sell?????
