  1. crossflow meaning 16v I presume? imho fit a 1.8t - less effort - even MORE potential
  2. they were just 1.6 I think And I'm fairly certain it was all based on a type 1/beetle floorpan - so beetle gearbox and clutch I should presume. And they are slow - 60hp tops My bro in law drag races a pro street version of a razor edge Karmann Ghia - low 8 second quarters anyone?
  3. Timo - I'd change your avitar so you can't read your reg - all this talk of insurers and unmentioned mods n'all. ;¬)
  4. throttle. I reckon this should improve my mpg no end - :) but seriously - yeah I'm interested in hooking one of these up to my VR
  5. so where can I get one from? sorry can't use the previous page button
  6. My Vr does 70mph never tried going any faster 'onestly cuntstable
  7. WHAT TO DO dead of night cut his rear brake lines Walk downstream with the fluid Light fluid when far enough away from house to be caught on camera walk away alternatively - go around his house and make him admit to it. Then let the court deal with it - twice offender and all that
  8. Sorry, thought it was obvious! R.O.V.E.R. LOVL sorry to hear about the crash - but them Rovers are trouble. Bet it was a red one!!!! mind you the greens and the blues are c a n ts as well.
  9. you will lose your radio presets!!!!!
  10. I have got a 94 VR - 3.0 I get 29 mpg I did a round trip of 350 odd miles the other day and was getting 35 mpg - which included burying the foot in the axminster
  11. Saw two dark blue Corrado's near Henley Beetles in Henley on Thames - on Sat evening 7ish First one definitley clocked me as the driver went crazy doing the thumbs up - you want to calm down chap!! :¬) I was driving a mk2 valve we had just picked up from Brum on here - my mate Jamie was behind in his Green Corrado 1.8 valve.

    C**TS !!

kids are out of control and know they are "beyond" the law. I found young "streetrats" actually jumping on my bonnet (not of my C thank the Lord) but even after Police intervention - they can't do anything. I do not recomend retribution either - you'll get done on noncing charges. It's a bitter pill Time to bring back the strap/cane at schools methinks - and less rights for kids.
  13. my Recaros's got "stolen" by my ins company when my Valve was written off. :¬(
  14. Glad to hear you're alright be thankful you were in a German car - and not some French thing. I was hit by a Nissan Cabstar in my mk2 - and suffered whiplash - you fared much worse. But the Mk2 was built like a tank trust me. I feel for you and your missus - and although physical damage is the more obvious it's the psychological damage which is the shocker. get back behind the wheel soon badger
  15. surely the state of tune of the engine would dictate power liberated by a freer flowing zaust? ie - how the head had been ported - what kind of duration cams - what state of fettle the inlet manifold/throttle body etc etc There are lot of things to take into consideration - merely bolting on "anything" has a knock on affect elsewhere - be it positve or negative. custom built for your car would be the "definitive" way of producing optimum performance. You can't just slate the marketing - it might of been fine on "their" test car. I could be wrong - but I could be riight jat
  16. always had a thign for Studebaker Avantis(just so clean looking) and Chevy Covvairs (strange flat 6 rear engined beastie)
  17. all modern cars are designed with "saftey" in mind - a low steeply sloping bonnet is "safe" for pedestrians don'tcha know? I say sod it and buy a jag XJ6-SC and fit a narwhal bone to the bonnet NCAP that fool
  18. I never found an Elise hard to get in or out of - and I'm tall!!! There's a few Ultima's around the Thames Valley - fairly common around here. Although I did see a parked Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren t'other day - they're just bad arse. The side pipes n'all.
  19. yeah you tried reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaal hard didn'tcha? LOL
  20. BACK ROAD ATTACK WEAPON???? YIKES!!! sounds a bit "y'know" rude! IMHO (and it's the only one that counts) best car you can get for the money - best fun per pound, best looks by far and "that noise" - plus if you need too, you can blast most things into the weeds. But I repeat - "just look at it!!" your worth it :¬)
