    Clunking...

Its not my car that pops out of gear, it has never done that... I had a look under the bonnet this morning while blipping th ethrottle on and off and didn't notice excessive engine movement.......strange. And worrying.
  2. Yeah thanks! I take pride in my Colorado.
  3. Well, dunno if this is counted as a "chuftie"... I frequwnt my local drive-thru McD's a bit (other fast food franchises are available), and there's this girl that has served me a few times. She saw me out the other week (I wasnt drunk, I was driving. She was drunk.), and was all like ooooooh you come into McD's dont you. Yes, yes I do, yes you serve me sometimes, yes, your face disgusts me.... Well, I lied about the last bit. But I thought it. Anyway, she said something along the lines of: "Oooh you drive that red Colorado dont you? I love that car it's so nice, you can sa hello to me next time you come in!" Well, It's a Corrado, and I don't remember your name so won't be saying hi...
  4. There are better modern engines that are easy to tune than a Duratec...
  5. OK, I need to get my oil leak fixed (it's from the crank oil seal so is a bitch to do) and I thought I may as well get the clutch changed while I'm there, it will piss me off if I do this then 3 months down the line the box has to come off again. I had heard on the grapevine that my car had possibly got some kind of VR6 clutch in there, be it just the plate or whatever, but I am dubious. Is it possible? If so, if I am to replace the clutch with another VR item then what do i need? Is i tthe whole thing or just the plate? If it's more hassle than it's worth, then what sort of power will a standard clutch handle, and what aftermarket ones have people tried and/or recommend for a tuned G60? Thanks.

    Clunking...

Well, yet ANOTHER noise for me to worry about with this car. Seems like something goes wrong every time I get in the fucker. OK, my car has a solid front mount from EIP, don't think it's very old (I can't be assed to look for the reciept), and when I pull away/change from first to second I get a horrible clunking noise and you can feel it through the dash. Has anyone had this problem/similar problem/any kind of engine clunking problem/feels like battering the shit out of the car when YET SOMETHING ELSE goes wrong? The noise is much worse when i pull away, if I am uber-careful with the clutch it won't make the noise, but otherwise it seems like it's as soon as you effectively de-clutch.... Please help. I can get it checked out on monday when I get my tracking done, but I wanna put my mind at ease.
  7. Yeah just get rid of it. Why did you replace it with new foam Paul? Some brake cleaner spray or something will soon get all the residue off....

How do you do this A4 conversion....
  10. Ahhh. Tbh, I hate Barryboys. Most of them are a bunch of stuck up nobheads. Yeah, I don't agree with some of the styling (for some, read most) that goes up there, but their attitude is uncalled for. SOmoen from CSW posts on there, goes under the name of Welsh Dan. He also has a bright orange bodykitted RX7.........Barry or not!? What did you think of the site?
  11. You saw I posted there? Are you on there then?
  12. Well, saw this posted up on my local Cruise site - before anyone kicks off it's not as "Barry" or Chav as most others, most of the people on there genuinely like cars, and there are more than a few "real" cars on there. If you're in the southwest then join up while you're on there, if only to laugh at this guy. Incidentally, it says on the bottom he's online but he hasn't posted on this thread yet.... Nice Punto, wish it was mine.
  13. Cue mod's "should have used the search" then if it has been discussed to death, i apologise for my ignorance
  14. I've checked Here (I saw the link on Nikki's topic about opting out of a company car scheme) and it says 0-60 takes 8.9 secs in a standard G60?! That page says even the 1.8 16v does it quicker than that! Can anyone confirm?
  15. I don't believe this. Photo looks like a photoshop. Show me a link or proof.
  16. Its not lag he talks about. He puts his foot down in fifth and waits for it to come on cam and then on boost. This is not lag. Lag is the time between you putting your foot down, and the turbo reaching its full boosting capactiy at that point in the rev range, not the time between you putting your foot down at 1k rom and waiting for the turbo to come on boost.
  17. I dont think there ever has been a UK spec DC5, the one without the LSD is the stripped out track spec model, cant remember the name. UK spec DC2's have an lsd that works in a very similar way to a quaife. The Corrado was the best handling front wheel drive car when it was out, the DC2 Type R surpassed it when it was released. A DC2 Type R is a car that I will be seriously considering buying when I no longer have the VR6. The UK Spec is either out now, or soon, i read that it had no LSD.

    Leather

Hi mate, there's a guy near me who has just started his own business, doing retrims. He is very very good at his job, I have seen his work. He could also do with the promotion as he has just started up. I have his name and number - his name is Mark Withey and the number is 07854 446141. He lives between Torrington and Bideford, but if you needed a hand at all with getting there, directions, lifts etc. I'd help you out. Also, his prices seem to be very good and he has a huge collection of leather samples. Give the guy a ring at least, you could do a lot worse. Pm me if you need any details mate.

    Wet Carpet

Thanks for the reply guys, i will check tomoro as it's been a busy day. I can't smell coolant in the car so guessing it may be this drain plug, as I say though I will check tomoro. Luckily Daves16v I don't have ABS so it's all good.
  20. The UK DC5 Type R has no LSD, same with the UK EP Civic Type-R. The JDM versions do. The DC2 however is well known as being one of the best handling FWD cars out there, and one of the best "driver's cars" you can buy. I have never driven one, but I have been in my mates JDM (different front end) one, ut that was turbo'd so I can't comment. Sounded nice though, VTEC, Turbo whistle, and an external wastegate! Back to topic though... TBH I don't think you can compare the two cars for handling. Although the're both "Sports Coupe's" i think they are aimed at different markets. The Type R is more of an out and out sports car, whereas the Corrado is more of a GT I think, you wouldnt be able to make long journeys in the Type R regularly, unless you could put up with it. My tuppence.
