I started to reply in the other section, but I thought it would get moved for not being in the correct section.

Right ok, I have only noticed this recently, but I seem to be getting a petrolly smell on wide open throttle. I'm sure this isnt right? I can;t smell it the rest of the time, my car doesnt seem to be using more petrol than usual (for a tuned G60 anyway) and there are no other tunning faults apart from the misfire at high revs - could this be a cause/symptom? Again, (2nd topic in the engine section in ten minutes hmm) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right, I ran the boost test today on my car (65mm pulley running on an R1 charger, RSR outlet, stainless steel induction kit), and I was expecting some high results, but the result (number 2 on the MFA Extra functions, yeah?) came up at 2000, tops. I was expecting more than this, and the charger was allegedly recently rebuilt with G-Werks. I read that the belt slips at high boost, but surely 14.5psi is a bit low for this spec? Darren, if you're reading this, is there any way I can check when the previous owner rebuilt the charger with you? Any help would be great, cheers!

Get an Almera or a Primera, can get Primera GT's cheap now too.

So does a MK1 Golf - something like that anyway, and it's not French!

Agreed, the one on Forza Motorsport is better. Better game than Juiced too :D

I'll let you know later on when I get home from taking a friend 170 miles to buy a car. I'm hoping for around 17psi.... To buy a fucking AX GTi. What a pleb.

Wahahahaha So true!

Hmm.........GOOD!! I couldn't believe you were going to sell it, I tell everyone about your car. Onne of them came up to buy your mate's Oak Green MK2 the other day actually. I hope we're thinking something along these lines...

Hmmm, I don't think so, I never liked those shape Porsches. I don't like th eback end or the headlights, but each to their own!

OK I found this: 1. Start Engine 2. Move the MFA selector to "2" 3. Press and hold the MFA end button (keep holding) 4. Stop engine 5. Start engine 6. Release the MFA end button. As you press the MFA button it will take you through the extra features. and this: MFA switch, position 1: 1: Engine map code. 2: Country code. 3: Speedo drive ratio. 4: Upper RPM limiter. 5: Lower RPM limiter. 6: Deceleration fuel shutof pressure. 7: Segment test. MFA switch, position2: 1: Test sum of programmed bytes 2: Intake manifold vacuum/pressure. 3: Engine RPM. 4: Momentary fuel consumption. 5: Signal from speed sensor. 6: Oil temp. 7: Ambient temp. Has anyone got the conversion for the figures you get from the vacuum pipe? I have seen it before somewhere but I don't know where...

Hi, been on the search (incidentally, on the search, why, when I put an AND, I get the same search results?! SUrely that should narrow it down?" but I can't find the how-to on how to do a boost check on a G60 - I know its something to do with holding the MFA in a certain position whilst turning th engine off and on...but I forgot...it also had a conversion list for the results you would get... thanks

Well, got a few more of it today, as the weather was ok, and I'd used some decent grade a car polish the other day so it's still shiny! Unfortunately no cows, or other assorted wildlife this time (but I AM working on that one!), just some nice scenery! Hope you like the pics, please leave comments - good or bad.

Basically a touring car spec engine then?

He is in most weekends mate.

Thanks for the eloquent comment. I try. I didnt say they would anyway, I said they'd destroy c onleycrew. Charged VR, different story. The Teg would be an interesting run. As for the Nova, it was a proper install, the engine bay has been fully seam welded, the rest of the chassis has been strengthened as well as suspension and front and rear brakes, its not that much of a bodge job! ;) As for the Teg, right, I don;t know what size Turbo Dave is running, but it's definitely uber-quick. IIRC its around 270bhp. It was imported from Japan in that spec, and was a drag car, we think. It's also got an OS Giken gearbox/diff, and we THINK uprated internals. It's a bit of a beast.

Whenever my car is working Alan....Oh, and I value my life so I might not take a drive with you! ;)

Every day I drive my Rado I find something else wrong with it.

MMmmmmm Yummy. You ever seen the dark blue 240z running full 300ZX running gear? Monster...

Nah you won't look stupid. The guy in the red and black Haynes manual rep Nova looks stupid, it looks like he painted his car with a brush.
