  2. I live in Paisley as well and have never seen it….
  3. Jim, no need to apologise, it is good enough and like you say cater for the masses.. Travelling to shows is part of the fun (especially if there is a convoy)..
  4. Seems a strong chance… Ill be keen although i wouldn't feel the need to run the car on the drag strip… Id imagine it would be more the cup of tea for the turbo guys...
  5. Interesting..wonder what the noisy bit means????
  6. Left 028919081D oil pressure switch 0,25BAR 1 pin blue (your leaking one) Right 068919081 oil pressure switch 1,4BAR 1 pin black I think they are around a fiver each. Don't quote me on that and just check the part numbers with the dealer although i am confident..
  7. Progress continues with the wiring loom. Ive spent about a week on this now and apart from one section of cabling and making some alarm cabling disappear its done. Obviously the wiring still isn't clipped back into place but once everything is sorted it will be. Its a big job and a couple of times I've thought the "i wish i had never started doing this" line that we have all thought.. I have a carrier bag full of all the loom tape that has come off, some of it in decent condition and some of it very brittle and just falls off in your hands.. Here are a couple of pictures as it stands now. Post christmas ill finish it..
  8. No not the housing.. It will be fine.. When the senders fail the oil can come up through the electrical connection, that looks to be what has gone on there.. You need an oil pressure sender, the one next to it is one also so i can't advise which. If in doubt id do both. They are both available from the dealer..
  9. Thats the oil filter housing. There are 3 senders that bolt in there… Im not sure which one is which though as i just changed them all..
  10. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=22727&highlight=plug+removal This is the guy who supplied or supplies them on here...
  11. Successful afternoon. Haven't touched the car but had a good trip to the scrapyard.. Result, all the cable ties i needed, a load of more modern ones kindly donated by a Mk3 Golf and some others from a Mk4. I also picked up a decent bulkhead heat shield and the reflective sleeve that goes over he fuel lines as mine is a bit frayed.. Here are a couple of pictures of the visit, this Corrado has been good to me although its looking very sorry for itself now…
  12. Wheel cleaner, i could try that, I've got some spare engine mounts ill have a practise on to see how well it behaves with different cleaning techniques..
  13. An insitu tidy up is the plan, again access is a nightmare so ill do the best i can..
  14. Thanks very much guys.. It does need so much more doing really, you would be amazed how much dirt you will find under your wiring loom!! I know the next stage of the wiring is going to be a challenge, there is very little room to move in and around the ABS pump, i got another 3 rolls of tape today so once I've had a look around a scrappy for some more cable ties ill be back at it.. After this is all done its time to sort the scuttle trims...
  15. Spent a lot of the last week pottering with the car.. Main work done was the sump fitting and lots of cable work. I removed the starter motor and decided it best to get a new one. Not the cheapest but a nice new one from the dealer plus a bit of paint from me = this… The rewrapping of the loom is a long job, ive finished the drivers side and the area around the engine itself (starter area coil pack etc) and have started the area from the battery leading back to the bulkhead. Its fiddly but it looks so much better than the old stuff. Ive ran out of tape now (4 rolls) so am stuck until i get some more. Ill have to remove the fan controller, coolant head tank and alrm speaker to get decent access to the rest but this is how it was left today..
  16. I could be wrong but i don't remember seeing a VW/Audi logo on my 263s… Im sure others will know better than me though...
  17. Fair dos Anyone used an alternative, not against the idea of a modern equivalent.. Do modern VWs use the criss cross type cable ties or something else?
  18. You parting company with those James?
  19. Thread revival… Ive bought some of the above and they seem like a 'male' whereas the originals are female and mount on threaded sections mounted on the car.. So, whats the way ahead?? I can get ones that are a cris cross effect from the dealer but not a solid cable tie.. Jim Bowen, are the ones you have gone with any good? Anyone else used an alternative?
  20. The guys at the dealership i use are good, they think I'm mad but hey ho...
  21. Thanks very much Jon.. Yes that clears some stuff up.. I collected the new starter today, it looks lovely and just needs a lick of silver paint on one end to make it perfect. The dealer thought i was mad when i said there was nothing wrong with the old one..
  22. The interior on this car is superb as it is but throw some Recaros into the equation and its next level time…
  23. Still available from the dealer… I did this recently but had the hole filter housing off.. Access was a combination of from underneath, down behind the radiator and through the drivers side headlight..
  24. Yes it has slimline fans. They look lovely but it doesn't have the big motor to hide all this to underneath. Its been an area if cabling that has needed some tidying so now is a good time. Ive used 2 roles of loom tape with the work I've done so far and I'm not finished. If you get the chance Jon that would be great. I know I'm being being picky but thats part of the fun….
