Black VR6, lowered on speedlines, this afternoon in Paisley centre, drove past me (while i was walking) and then it was parked up..

They suit the car nicely, although i wish they didn't so you would sell them to me…

Nice one. I have the sealant and i think ive primed the tensioner. Ive just put it in a mug of oil and depressed released it sevreal times. There is no sign of any air and there is resistance in it..

Happy days... I got the cams in ok with the chain in place. Ill get some of that sealant and once ive got the bolt in will hand turn it to make sure its all ok.. When you first fired it up afterwards did you remove the fuel pump relay to let the oil pressure prime?

Bit of a resurrection on this thread but i have a couple of questions... Ive just fitted my 263 cams (after them sitting around for a year!) Anyway, a few things. 1. When i have the cams lined up (pre change) at No1 TDC (in a suitable locking plate) the crank pulley is slightly off the mark on the block, i am talking a mm or 2. Should i be worried by this? Ive changed the cams over now to 263s and everything is as it was. 2. Although the upper timing chain cover must have been off and replaced at some stage there isnt really any evidence of a sealant used, What should i use, anything available from high street shops, B&Q etc? 3. the more i read into refitting tensioner bolts the more i worry. How do i know if i have a late or early bolt and what is the definitive script on repriming it before refitting? Ive got a load more work going on with the car so it wont be getting started for a while, id just like to make sure its all good to go while i crack on with the other bits.

Im going to bump this... Still on the look out for all parts, anyone? IF you are breaking a VR6 with the metal cam cover then the heat shields across the bulkhead are the ones im after..

3.5.. I had a 2.0 16v, the green one and the one have now.. I also went halves on a breaker hence the half..

It cost me a case of lager to have a guy Mill the Schrick logo off that so the badge could go on... The manifold was actually an accidental purchase, i had the KWs fitted and was offered it at a good price.. Im not sure when the guy i sold it to passed it on although he hasnt done many miles, it was on 104k when i sold it. Although not heavily modded it isnt standard, cams, manifold, engine mounts, handles, rear plate colour coded, red tail light, rear wiper off, incorrect splitter, brakes to name but a few....

Certainly is my old one...

On the subject of heat shields... Does anyone know what the difference is between 191803326A and 191803326B? I have found one of them but im suspicious its the wrong one...

Thats the exhaust manifold heat shield.. They are still available new so im ok for one those.. Thankyou anyway..

I had hoped the rocker cover was available new hence why i didnt mention it but typically its not.. How good is the one you have Dave, scratches, fading etc, please be picky...
