really easy no get apart. i used a nail to knock the pin out a little then used small vice grips to pull it the rest of the way. if i remember correctly theres a small spring flies out from somewhere when u seperate the barrel from the mechanism so do it slowly
-
if its in need of an oil change it will prbably be in need of a good service. i'd start there to begin with. if your good with a spanner it can be done very cheaply.

confused seam to give you alot more quotes if you put in your car reg the only trouble is confused doesn't seam to like L reg VRs no matter what reg you put in
-
Budget its only tpft though. Storm-nut you know how bad our area is thats why you dont keep your car at home and i'm stuck between two versions of the bronx. and smack head alley just down the road.
-
have you tried http://www.confused.com or MoneySuperMarket?. also add an older person such as a parent it usually brings your policy down a bit. i'm only 21 and running a VR but my area is a bit sh1t so i have to pay just over a grand. with 2years ncb but soon to be changed as i've found one for 800

haven't a clue i know they were all green and fuses are colour coded to there rating i think.
-
thought white ones were rare? that'll be 3 at the next sheffield meet including mine
-
theres 3 green ones on mine. you have to remove the shelf next to the fuse box. can you control the central locking on yours with the pins and the door locks because mine seams to have bypassed something.

my car has the standard scorpion/VW full closure alarm. ever since i've owned it it has never locked using the key or the pins. i've had the various bits of dash out loads of times trying to find anything odd. Today i thought stuff it, i'll just fit a switch to activate the pump in the boot. wired it all up with a seperate positive supply, came to test it, it locked everything with the ignition off but also closed everything. the unlock process worked fine. i then tried it with the ignition on but all it did was close the sunroof. it really started to pi$$ me off so i've put it all back together and left it. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. one final thing how do u remove the glove box? i took the door off and all the screws out but it only pulls out so far then gets stuck.

people prefer there own different models i wanted a g60 to start with, test drove one and didn't like it but then again it was standard all though it was stated as havin a stage 4 charger. i then found a VR and loved it. if you look hard you'll get the insurance for around £1100 on a VR. dont worry about the miles either as most will tell you just buy one with good history. as for meets there was one last week in sheffield there should bve one coming up soon think squires is last thursday of the month. found my VR on here http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?s=177 -
Anyone made their own switchblade key with an OE immobiliser
andyVR6 replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
can you program them to the standard VW alarm systems? -
the front end if the panel runners are open ended or they were on mine and the replacement unit allowing the chrome metal parts to slide out.
-
give it a gentle pull and it should come. place your fingers between the panel and the trim and get a good grip. if not put the sunfoof in the tilt postion and i think u can see the clips that hold it in.
-
get one then go to a lock smith for the other one. friend of mine got one cut the other day for his pug and it cost £1
-
take your V5 to the dealers and they should be able to get your key number off there database with the VIN number and get a new key cut for you. i was going to do it as my car only came with an ignition key and remote fob but in the end i used a guide off here to change the lock barrel to fit my key on all the external locks. I'd take plenty of ID with you aswell to prove the cars yours aswell

tryed using it once the day the lead came on my mates vr and out of coincidence the ignition switch packed in we thought we'd fried something. never got round to using it since.
-
would vag-com pick anything up in the fault codes history. ive got it + the leads but never used them
-
the engines running fine though now so the plugs will all be the same colour. think ive got some plugs in the garage so ill give it a try anyway
-
the plugs have only done around 1200mile gave it full service when i bought it the fuel filter is also brand new had to butcher the old one off as it was still the original with 144k's worth of crap in it. probably wouldn't hurt to put some injector cleaner through it.
-
was in sheffield today and when i got back in the car and drove off it sounded like a scooby it wouldn't pick up very well and idled roughly. pulled over and couldn't see anything wrong checked what i could check at the side of the raod then decided to limp it 10mile home, got back on the motorway to head for home and had to change down into fourth to get past a truck then when i put it back into fifth it seamed to mend itself and take off like it usually does

went to VW AUDI Breakers in nottingham for a wing today and it came off an M plate VR that was in pretty good condition. it looked like a stolen recovered as the ignition was a mess and no drivers window. everything is still there apart from the wing. it also had black leathers that he wants £500 for there a bit dirty and the drivers seat was a bit worn on the bolsters. he also had another C half dismantled outside dunno which model it was though.

might be a daft question but are the subframes for golfs and polos the same as the corrados, i know they look identical but not sure on dimensions. would have thought that they would do subframes for a golf.
