  1. Gutted for you mate.. :-( must have been kids though (or of course a complete numpty!) as it only takes a flat blade screwdriver and less than 10seconds to break into a C if you know what your doing, so :censored: annoying when some scrote damages your pride and joy though, have you had the filth round to check for finger prints etc?
  2. Having moved out to the Netherlands I have too say one of the things I miss least about the UK is car insurance ... Out here you dont need to notify the insurance company regarding "modifcations" as long as its passed the MOT then its good enough for the Dutch insurance companies, I went from paying £400 a year to €190 fully Comp and with zero no claims as they dont count my years driving in the UK but its still less than half what I paid in the UK for a G60 with all the usual mods!! Sorry to hijack your thread but I dont know anyone that has ever had a "good" insurance experience??

Cheers for the comments guys I'm well happy with em! Still got a smile on my face despite having one of the tyres go flat in less than 200 yards... not fitted to the rim correctly I suspect so its back to the tyre center on Monday, need to get it booked in for a new CV boot too. There was quite a mess behind the offside front wheel when I took it off, think I have caught it early though :) So plan for early 2010 is to get the charger rebuilt, fit the Samco boost hoses and RSR, new fuel pump, VDO's and the JBL speakers I have had kicking around for the last three years!

  6. Thanks Kip :) I dont have the right sized Tap yet.. My poor Dutch is letting me down again! But I will use a drill bit the same size as the bolts to clean the excess off the inside and I can hopefuly find a Tap the right size tomorrow and get these fuckers fitted on the weekend  Cheers Dan
  7. Ok so... due to the postal strikes it took over a month for the replacement bolts and locking tool to arrive from Borbet UK :censored: so I went to trial fit the flat caps and found that the guy who powder coated the wheels has also powder coated the cap bolt holes.... :bad-words: anyone have any bright ideas on how I can get this sorted? Can I use a Tap on Alloy Wheels? Or may be a dremal with a thin wire brush might clean the coating out but not damage the thread, I know I should take the wheels back to the powder coater but though I would get some opinons on here first as the guy is clearly a world class knob end to have done this in the first place and I just dont trust him after this!! Cheers Dan
  8. Nice one :-) good effort! Nothing quite like the feeling of getting your 60 back on the road and in tip top condition

  11. Sounds like the laser is forked, but if the car has been smoked in over a long time it could just need a clean, pull the head out strip the cover off an wipe the lens with a cottenbud and some meths

Excuse the poor shots but the Powder coated Borbet A's are back 8) they look sooo much better in the metal! Thanks to Mr Beige too!! Cant wait to get them fitted but I'm off to San Fransisco with work for the next 11 days so wont get a chance to fit them till December :-( Oh well will have to try and console myself on the west coast somehow...
  15. I wouldn't. It was built to be driven, and the feel of a "nearly new" VR would be interesting. Wonder how much the suspension rubbers have deteriorated though? I bet yours would drive/handle better than this one mate after all your running gear has nice new bushes ;-) this ones are still 15 years old!
  16. Looking good mate! love the slampanel hole usage  and thats a really neat soloution for the Audio inputs :salute:
  17. Yea the std boost setup is :cuckoo: but I do want to keep the G rather than move to BBM ro Turbo, think the long term plan will be a charge cooler with a 4 branch and maybe one of those big valve Gwerks heads  but this summers plan is to give the engine a good overhaul, changer rebuild and get the smaller pully on. SNS came back today to let me know the chip I have is setup for a 68mm pully with 3.5 bar fpr and std injectors so not much to change there
  18. lol thanks, was just looking at your spec did you notice much difference going to a 68mm pully? Think I'm going to have to get a decent FMIC too but just want to make sure I make the most of the extra boost the smaller pully will provide.
  19. Looks like I might have to invest in one of these and a custom chip at some point then :) as from what I understand anything above .8bar is vented out by the ISV http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/lshop,sho ... 51703,.htm Thanks for the responses guys 8) its much appreciated! Dan
  20. Yea doing some pic hunting (google image search G60 + Boost) returned quite a few shots of the ISV rerouted into the Boost inlet as they had deleted the boost return, I'm not convinced thats such a good idea really as the ISV is supposed to bleed off excess boost once the limit of the Map senser is reached (1bar iirc?) so I assume that at WOT you could end up under fueling and melting a piston with this setup :gag:

:D Life in Europe seems to be agreeing with you. I think you'll like the smaller pulley. 65mm? I thought you bought a 68? Cheers dude yea looking through the bits I have collected over the last year or so I appear to have a surplus of Pullys, got the 65, 68, and a 70mm versions as well as a std (78mm?) one on the car, will be using whichever one the SNS is setup for
  23. Cheers dude will give SNS a shout tomorrow, any idea on the pipe?
