Hey All, I have been collecting parts for a big rebuild this coming summer 8) and recently got myself the bits shown in the attached pic however I'm not sure why the Pipe circled in Red has a tube welded in it (also circled in Red) I assume this pipe fits between the the inlet manifold and the std boost pipework but if someone could let me know what is supposed to plug into this outlet it would be much appreciated :) Also I now have a spare ECU with an SNS chip already fitted, the Chip has the following code stamped on the top: G60-GN-003 (Stage 5) does this relate to the code used in the chip? I'm trying to work out what injectors etc this chip is setup for as the guy I got it from was not too sure. I'm currently running std management with std injectors but planning on going to 68mm pully, and maybe a set of Red tops with a 3.5bar FPR (as I guess the drop in pully size will mean the red tops and FPR are needed?) Cheers All Dan

Was about to say.... Wish I had seen this before I shelled out on a brand new Tensioner, but I suspect it was a better idea than just slapping in some new bushes seeing that I can compress the old one by hand but I have to get my full weight on the new one to move the bugger at all! Maybe I will pay someone to fit that for me as I dont have the 'tool'

Yea cheers mate :-) I think they might end up an eBay shortly though after looking at these babys!

Gutted for you mate! :-( I nearly had the same thing happen a few years ago but the guy behind managed to turn through the skid and just went down the side of me and wrote off the car in front... If you havent been through the nightmare that is dealing with :censored: insurance companies yet, I would suggest you head off the "here's a grand for you car mate" standard offer by getting together all the receipets you have for any work done on the car together with as many pics of the car showing what good condition it was in etc and send it off to them as soon as possable. Cheers Dan -
Cant get enough of Them Crooked Vultures: Album out on the 17th Nov!!!!

Look to me like the pins are out of place and are pulling the door skin forward, try unscrewing those door pins and push the skin back under the plastic strip at the bottom of the window frame, I bet it stays there then.

Fully agree with Tom on this one! :D

When I looked at replacing Two split hoses for my G60, VW wanted the same money for Two original hoses as Samco did for a complete set of Silicone Hoses so I went with the Samco option, well recommended imo as I wont need to worry about replacing them again! And you cant put a price on peace of mind

What flavour C have you got mate? I know the VR's can be a bitch for air locks and its recommended to fill from the Rad neck rather then the expansion tank. Also did you change the stat at the same time? Could be that little bugger is stuck shut?
-
Not working on all speeds? Usualy its the resister pack on the blower lets go so the fan only works on speed 4, if not working at all its probably the fuse.
-
Have you chaanged the stat, flushed and changed the coolent and replaced the fan switch? Usualy a good idea right after buying a Watercooled VW, my first GTI blew a HG 2 months after a got it due to a jammed shut stat :( As for the spolier its probably the fuse, happened to me too but I also stripped out the spoiler motor and gave it a clean and refurb as they get very gunked up after 15 years or so. Cheers Dan

If you want 200 Bhp just sell the VR and buy this: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=85401&p=989095#p989095

-
Looks like you had a fair amount of weight in the back there dude  looks fantastic though!
-
lol great thread! how about "Dont you wish your car was hot like mine!"

Is this some local garage or C+R? I would try and get it to someone who has dealt with this kind of problem before.. (I know easier said than done when your pride and joy is off the road :( ) but the G60 is a special beast and needs to be looked at by someone with a bit of experience on them, anyway have a look at my thread from when this happened to me you can see the crank damage in the pics I posted and all I did was file the end of the crank flat (no special tool just a metal file) and fitted the new pully and like I said its been fine ever since :) viewtopic.php?f=1&t=47645&p=561386#p561386 Cheers Dan

I love it when girls talk dirty! :salute:

'I think' the Golf G60 ecu is capable of measuring more boost pressure than the Corrado ECU, meaning it will still manage the fueling over 1bar rather then bleading off the boost through the isv, I cant find the thread now but it's been mentioned on here before.
