Merry Christmas everybody. Couldn’t agree more, it’s quiet around here compared with a few years ago (been here 18!) but it’s too much of a resource to lose, too many other forums have fallen by the wayside.

Still looking in really good shape too, I think that in my almost 30 years as a Corrado owner I’ve only seen one in the flesh, once, enjoy!

Long shot indeed. I’ve bought various springs and platforms for my Koni coilovers over the years from Larkspeed in Leeds. The last time I had springs, which I think was fronts, I had to wait for Koni to run the next batch which was months…. You could drop lucky though.

Great to see another one back from a “sabbatical” off the road, been using mine every day recently and loving it. Can’t remember the last time I saw another one on the road though and nowhere near Edinburgh!
-
Yeah, been legal for the road since May, although most of that has entailed parking in the garage out of the rain! Used it for commuting to Eckington most of this week, except today when I gave the TT a run out, and I’ll be in it again tomorrow because I’m planning going for an MoT in the afternoon. I was originally hoping to go to Chatsworth with CCGB last weekend but we were away so had to miss it. I always thought the clunks and creaks were standard with the Corrado?

I’ve long suspected the abs pump to be the root cause of all the problems, there can be no other part of the system that could essentially store dirty fluid to be released at a later stage, put fluid in at one end of a pipe and it’s got to come out the other. I wouldn’t recommend Teves 20 just as an answer to a soft pedal, it’s way too much trouble for that, getting the loom through the bulkhead behind the Climatronic system took days! I had abs problems at the time too so decided to take the plunge. Maybe using it for a few days will be the answer, just a pain having to get it all jacked up and wheels off again to bleed it.
-
I have got, and also had various levels of success with the pressure bleeder, the easibleed, and a vacuum pump. But still seem to end up with the wife sat in the driving seat pumping the pedal (and generally complaining about the cold!) while I go around the callipers etc with a spanner doing the down-up-down-etc. It still ends up with decent brakes but crap pedal no matter what, but I’ve always found that after leaving it two or three days another round will cure the pedal. Got to say though, since fitting the Teves 20 system it’s been much easier. It has an auto bleed sequence with it although I’m not convinced that does much other than waste loads of fluid!

Good to hear you’re out and about now, planning to get mine on the road at the start of May 🤞 Mine tells me it’s done 38mpg or so, but do the maths and it’s about 32mpg!

Welcome to the forum, an R36 engined Corrado is a very rare thing indeed, I remember the days when everyone said it would be impossible! Can’t wait to see some photos.

I’ve got to admit that you were my first thought knowing that you’d just got the car back on the road and worked Nottingham way. Hope whoever it was got sorted out 🤞

My mate messaged me to say there was a Green VR6 on the shoulder M1 southbound close to J27 today, he was northbound unfortunately. Anyone here, hope it’s nothing serious?

Congratulations on the pass and the £2.80 tank of petrol! The camber adjustment on the Corrado is awful, designed to be set by trial and error it seems. When I did mine I measured the difference between camber on the ground then at full droop when on stands, I then set the camber allowing for the difference before putting it back on the ground to check. I don’t have camber bolts in it, only the standard bolts in the slotted holes in the Komi coil overs. I did the tracking with the car sat on 8 breeze blocks then set up straight edges down both sides of the car using a tape measure and lots of patience to get centralised and parallel. That way I could measure the exact toe with the car on its wheels but still get underneath to adjust it. Don’t think I’d make much money selling my services though as it took me a few days all in. It worked OK though as I then had the alignment checked using the laser set up at a local tyre place and it was spot on.

Good to see this back in the daylight again, well done for seizing the moment. We must meet up some time like we said we would about five years ago! Looking like possibly May at the earliest before mine’s out again though, too busy offshore trying to keep the gas flowing at the moment 🙄
-
I can’t remember exactly and I’m offshore so can’t look at mine, but if it’s like others I’ve done you roll the “strip of wood” half a turn inside the leather (if that makes sense) before pushing it into the slot. That way it doesn’t pull straight out again.

Great modification…one of Kev Bacon’s “Must do to your Corrado” upgrades!
