  1. Thanks. I don't think an uprated loom has been fitted, but some previous owner obviously fancied themselves as a bit of an electrician, as I had a problem before when the fuel pump was wired into the indicators. If I find the man who did it... If it's not an uprated loom (i.e. it's still sporting its original) what else could it be?
  2. Hi, Driving home tonight, and reached some dark country lanes. I put my lights on full beam, and they dimmed, rather than giving me full power. I stopped and had a look, and it's both of them. Is this a wiring thing rather than a bulb issue? :?
  3. Easypops! That is a tasty looking C. How did you tint your rears? And do the indicators shine through the smoke ok? If so, Mr Visa is coming out and I'm having some early Crimbo presents! Edit: Just seen this: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=63845&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=15 Where's my wallet???
  4. Cheers gents. People who know what they're talking about. Very useful. :D
  5. Thanks mate. Have you got the tinted stuff though or are yours clear? If they're tinted - any pics? Still concerned about the legal issues.
  6. Anyone got further with this? Am thinking of getting some overlays for the rears, and Empire do the fronts as well: They say "We recommend 40 mil clear for headlights, but only 20 mil clear for fog & turn signals" Would this keep them road legal? I'm not so bothered about being stopped and asked to remove them. The bigger headache is being involved in a crash, and then the insurance turning round and saying "you've illegally modified your car - your insurance is invalid" How have people got on with this? And did anyone try the blue tint on the wing mirrors?
  7. Am liking the look of that Young Dub. Those wheels look tasty too. Thanks for that. Smoked on a moonlight blue anyone?
  8. Right, am getting very confused. Have searched a billion posts on here and read all about the red tint/green bulb/LED scenarios. I thought that the overlays from Empire Graphics solved this as they have strips cut into them to let the light through: http://www.empiregfx.com/shop/product.p ... t=0&page=1 I was literally about to go off and order some... but now I've actually plugged my brain in, the striped bits aren't over the indicators - doh! Are there the same issues with the smoked overlays, or do the indicators just shine through orange? I think red would look better, but I haven't got time to start wiring in transistors for LEDs, and the green bulb scenario never seems to be ideal. Anyone with smoked lights (tinted or overlayed) got any ideas?
  9. Anyone got pics of a moonlight blue C with tinted rears (without using the overlays)? Just need to get an idea about colours...
  10. Have been searching through hundreds of threads but have not found what I need. Does anyone have some photo's of their C with the Empire Graphic overlays on? Preferably a moonlight blue, or similar dark colour? Don't have time to tint my rears, and this seems like a cheap and easy option, but need to know if they will look ok. Am thinking all red might be the way to go, then paint my callipers red to match. But smoked rears, and smoked side indicators would also look good on a moonlight blue C. Any pics? Anyone?
  11. I'd race him. He's nowhere near the racing line. Wouldn't want to talk to the fecker afterwards though!
  12. It also depends how you drive it I guess. I manages to get 40 mpg, according to the computer, by driving for a long time at 50 on the M6, slip streaming a lorry. Very dull. Most of the time I rag the tits off it round town. Much more fun, but only does around 21mpg. And mine's only a valver...
  13. I'd rather spend the money on something to make mine go faster... Never ashamed of how old my car is. When I bought it, a mate's mum asked "Why have you sold one M reg car and bought another M reg car?" Answer: This one goes much faster...
  14. Try and think of it as a positive thing... Now you can get the carbon fibre bonnet, angel eyes, etc. And a big retractable spike so that next time you hit a Ford Ka - kebab time...
  15. Pre-cut it is then... I'll let you know how I get on. Cheers.
  16. Have just seen this window on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volkswagen-Corrad ... dZViewItem Not sure about the "standard Corrado light green tint". I've never thought of my windows as being tinted green. Is this really a standard colour. Are all windows the same? My C is a 95 valver.
  17. Right. So need to buy a brand new second hand near side window. The pre-cut kits aren't much more. How difficult is it to cut the rolls to fit? I imagine I have to make a template with paper first? Or I could do what my neighbour has done. He didn't want to pay for a roll of tint to screen off the back windows of his van, so he's used some sawn down wooden interior louvre doors. Interesting look...
  18. Get down there with sawn-off shotgun and get militant. You can't take any guff from these swine...
  19. I'm a teacher, and some of the little feckers at my school throw rocks randomly into the teachers' car park. There are now two bumps on my bonnet, which I've been told can't really be fixed due to where they are. There's also a TT in there and a Boxster. I asked my form what their dream car would be. Answer: a Corsa. Pimped. So much to teach, so little time. My powers are weak...
  20. Not a fan of the man myself, but as you say, he does have a point. A night time race around London would be sweet. Historic landmarks, beautiful cars, Lewis Hamilton on pole, Alonso in the barriers... Sounds good doesn't it?
  21. Mine's a lush moonlight blue. Looks black sometimes, at others a dark dark blue. Not sure about white. White cars are a bit like white jeans....
  22. I'm thinking of getting mine tinted. Anyone got any thoughts on: 1. pre-cut window kits for a Corrado (about £40) 2. rolls of tint-film (is this easy to do,or will it just look sh!te when it's done?) 3. Getting it tinted professionally (don't they just use rolls of window tint like I would?) I've also got a scratch on my near side window. Will this need replacing before I get it tinted? Cheers, Chris
