  1. even I wouldn't buy a cheap generic lambda sensor and i'm always after a bargain. :) Bosch. And yes soak the sensor in a good penatrative oil and get your game face before attempting to undo it. :censored:
  2. Sounds like a faulty slave/master cylinder to me.
  3. No,as said if you have no power to your ecu pls try the ecu relay or ignition switch. Thnks.
  4. he doesn't do easy. easy would of been not to break the bloody thing in the first place. :)
  5. yeah..what a crock of shite. F1 needs to take a look at itself.
  6. was hardly a glorious moment for alonso as he got out of the car was it.
  7. where does the vac hose for the ecu attatch itself on a valver? Is it in the area he was working anyone?
  8. No need to touch the timing belt my friend. Just be methodical and use the right tools for the job I.e a good spline key set to remove allen bolts. Your only slight differculty may be getting the tensioner system back on,as it can be a bugger to compress.Lots of brute force ad a swear jar should do it. where abouts are you?
  9. /\/\/\ with a sturdy friend pressing on the brakes if need be too :)
  10. wow,not seen one of those b4. Topmounts and suspension all changed now but I will defo invest for future work, thnks.
  11. As I have already said the ecu switches the green cable to earth when the engine is running to fire the coil. While the engine is not running you will not see an earth on the green cable. If the green cable was held to earth too long it would over charge the coil and damage it. Was he cranking the engine over while looking for this earth signal?if he was and he had the right test gear then he could of checked for the earth pulses. Other than that you have just come across an mechanic that wasn't familiar with the system. Maybe take it to Vw or a Vw specialist. There is no ignition module on a g60. He is confusing it with a valver. Good luck.
  12. the green wire isn't for the rev counter.it is the signal from the ecu to fire the coil.It goes to pin 25 on the ecu plug connector. It should be at 12 volts. To fire the coil it is pulled low to ground by the ecu for a few milliseconds. You'd need a good multimeter to see this or an oscilloscope. You shouldn't get an earth reading on the coil. :? G60 do not use an ignition module. rob_b yes some g60 do indeed get its signal directly from the coil(Not mine) although i believe that this wire is red/black.
  13. do you measure 12 volts on this and indeed the black wire on the other side of the coil when the ignition is on?
  14. maybe headgasket then...
  15. Do Vr crank pulleys have woodruff keys?? All the crank sprockets that I have come accross on 4 pots have an inbuilt locating key. VW bentley manual deos indeed say 100nm + 1/4 turn. I imagine that yours isn't binding because it is over stretched.Get a new bolt.
  16. it's your topmounts. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 23&t=94562 The rubber doughnut that sits between the top of your suspension struts and your chassis. Spring compressor is needed and a 22mm deepset ring spanner along with the correct size allen key sprocket for removing the suspension securing bolt at the top of the strut. Please please don't round the allen key recess off,(People tend to do them up too tight) or a half hour job will take you alot longer.
  17. /\/\/\ True,as your water temps are good.Maybe order a new oil temp sender too.
