  1. well i've folllowed the car over on clubgti.I wasn't about during the fall out but all i'm interested in is the car.Would be cool to follow it's progress over here. 8)
  2. you should be able to get to it easily enough from underneath if it is the one i'm thinking of.
  3. /\/\/\ cool thnks. You gave my brain a jog. I decided to go same theme just different route. Just took some of the material off the ring spanner to dee beef it so it can get in the recess.
  4. won't be fitting any at this rate.this is the second 22m deep set ring spanner that I have bught that doesn't want to to fit over the nut. :mad2:
  5. i want some 8v action in my life...which is kind of ironic after all the trouble puting a 16v head on my car. A nice late low maint(is there such a thing??) corrado would make a nice daily tho...
  6. i put gsf mounts in my golf and they're holding up ok.I'll take my chances. Some parts i'd always go VAG with but i'll take my chances with the mounts.
  7. thnks for your efforts. 8) Well i'll disassemble the front suspension at the weekend to compare the parts for sure. means i won't be able to finish it this weekend if it is wrong but there you go..
  8. You are now officially the goto CAD man :)
  9. does this look right? It is a gsf part. The oe ref part number on the box 357412 329 which is for an early g60 and mine is a late. I was expecting a seperate bearing but this one has one inbuilt. Does this look right? Looks wrong to me...
  10. 8) interested to hear what u have been up to.
  11. not sure tbh,a healthy standard item should produce 0.6 bar.
  12. as already said, just get hold of the best condition 16v head you can find. 8) I'm running a kr head on a 6a bottom end.(same as 9a) simply because the components were available to use. It's what you do with them that counts. 8)
  13. ... I wouldn't like to say, depends on how much of a restriction it presents to the engine ability to breath. Doesn't sound ideal. Get a cheap boost guage and check what pressures your charger is producing first. :) Is the charger in standard form?
  14. thats relay just supplies power to the ecu. This is sometimes the culprit for starting or intermittent running issues. If you have not changed it b4 it is a good idea to change it now anyway as part of good maintenance. Yes check your boost system first. 8)
  15. holding back? Do you mean a lack of power or is it hesitating?
  16. most 8v pistons are domed where as the 16v blocks have flat pistons so i would of thought using an 8v head on a 16v block would actulally raise the compression!?! It is common for people to do this the other way around.A 16v head on an 8v block, which gives a cr of about 8.0:1.
  17. a switch should read open infinite ohms when open and then when shut should read zero ohms. Did you shut the contacts on the switch when testing?
  18. from best case senario to worse. oil used too thin for engine. low oil level in sump.(Is the guide stick holder broken? faulty sender/wiring. oil pump tired. worn engine bearing(Engine rebuild time) remember engine oil thins as it heats so oil pressure will drop. This will be especially evident in an engine with a tired bottom end.
  19. I hated those wheels at first. I was wrong!
  20. may or maynot help.. If not may be handy for someone later. good luck.
  21. i think 14.1 secs for a n/a vr6 in a mk2 is excellent. My friends qpeng ko4 mk2 was just slightly slower than that.
  22. Best 8v setup I has was jabba chip with stage4 jabba rebuilt charger.Engine was strong and pulled hard. 8)
  23. multimeter should be in series with the battery to measure current not across the battery terminals.
  24. I disagree with the general consensus I think red cars look better/cleaner without imo. On darker cars they don't show up as much.I think they date the cars.
