  1. got a squeaking / squeeling noise coming from either my cam belt tensioner pulley or the idler pullies on the serpentine belt on my corrado G60, thinking of having done with it and replacing all of them, is it possible to get the idler pullies from aftermarket sources or are they a strictly VAG part? also if i replace the cam belt, unlike on a conventional 8v motor do i have to undo the centre bolt on the crank to get the pulley off aswell as the four small 6mm hex bolts? :?
  2. just been on the sns tuning site, and seen that is possible to use a crank pulley off of a passat to increace the peed the charger rotates as oppse to a smaller charger pulley, wondering if its cheaper, and will look stock, apparentley the pulley is 3MM larger at the crank, heres the part no 92 G60/Passat "3mm larger" main crank pulley (VW p/n 037 105 255) http://www.snstuning.com/
  3. When you remove the boost return, where does the boost which previously entered the charger discharge to? :?: *mod edit - Please don't SHOUT your posts - Decapped for you - Henny*
  4. PASSAT ONES CAN BE USED IF YOU USE THE MECHS ASWELL, there is lots of information on here try doing a search with passatANDhandles, also the later door handles will fit as ive seen the late vr6 type handles on a 91 g60,, bazgreener has done it on his, hope this helps,
  5. its the water thats taking ages to warm up according to the gauge, the oil is usually at abouty a hundred, and it always gets driven over 2k!!! as sooon as the oil is warm it gets thrashed, every day,,
  6. hi ya had trouble with my coolant supposedly taking ages to warm up and never going above 65-70 degrees, changed the thermostat and its still doing it, any ideas folks? also is there a way i can check the sender for the gauge with a multimeter? if i vent off the coolant cap i can get the temperature to go up but this must be just due to me reducing the pressure, maybe my expansion tank cap is faulty and keeping the pressure to high?
  7. GSF sell the proper tool to hold the tensioner whilst you nip up the nut but i usually use a pair of circlip pliers as H100VW says  *mod edit - De-capped your post, Please don't SHOUT - Henny *
  8. thanks, will try that, fingers crossed it will work, dont fancy paying 130 for a new rack!!
  9. hi ya the steering rack on my brothers mk2 8v (1989) has started leaking all its power steering fluid through the boots on the tie rods, :( so im guessing i am going to have to replace the rack, i have a rack from a vr6 corrado available to me, and wondering if it would fit in the golf, any help would me much appreciated,,

  17. over the last couple of days my corrado g60 seems to have developed a fault, the coolant takesages to warm up and when it does it wont rise above 70 degrees, the oil temp stays araound a hundred, Im thinking the thermostat could be faulty? or the sender for the temperature gauge is playing up,, any ideas folks? :?:
  18. new pistons, rings, reground balanced crank, everything has been redone,,
  19. just rebuilt engine on 5cyl audi coupe, (off topic i know) was wondering on the running in procedure, was thinking 1500 miles under 3000 rpm without making it work hard,, any other opinions folks?
  20. had similar problem with mine, it was the ignition switch, quite common so im told, new switch is only about £16 from VAG,
  21. anyone know this, just done a search and nothing came up about it, cheers, :?:
  22. the shaft they are referring to is the intermediate shaft that currently drives your distributor and your oil pump on yuyour 8v,, the 16V has a distributor mounted on the end of a camshaft therefore you will need to use a 16 valve intermidiate shaft and the gear which drops in where your distributor is currently mounted along with the blanking off cap to drive your oil pump,,,
  23. dubcharged, do you do a chip with coding for those of us who wish to retain the stock size pulley on our chargers, to keep the service intervals down but still wish to get rid of the digi lag?!?!?! :?:
