  1. With the wiring I've been given, the carbon canister solenoid wasn't on it, although it was discussed and intentions were to include it. At the moment I'll cope without it but I know what you're saying, without the solenoid control we're a bit screwed aren't we? The Aux pump has a plug included on my loom, I did request it too, it'll be run by the original fan control module if they do. If not you can use the original R32 pump in the front location using the R32 plug?
  2. The 4 prongs are meant to fit into each other, there are actually 4 prongs and 4 holes to match. I've fixed it, I just broke the prongs off! plugs in fine now, and the wire colours on both sides all match up. And the battery's dead....Been cranking and the fuel pressure was coming up then it died! How long does it normally take to get fuel along the lines? Do I need to let the air out via the bleed nipple at the end of the rail?
  3. Guys, Why will this plug not go together!? I've tried adjusting the pins its still not playing ball. Kev are you able to chat on the phone? Pm me your number if you can, cheers. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  4. I've decided the excitement will have to wait, I have 3 things on the job list before i can crank it. Working late into the night is just going to make for sloppy work, tomorrow morning it is then! Got to plug in the fuse box plugs, fill it with coolant, and bolt up the exhaust mani, then we will see if all this work has been worth it! A lot of emotions playing at once here guys, relief (3 months in the making!!!), nerves, excitement, you name it haha.

    Engine Wanted!!

I've got a good runner VR6 but it's far from plug and play into a G60. Let me know if you're interested.
  6. Great work mate! :) Anyone know how heat tolerant the gear linkage is? In its current position it will likely touch the lambda sensor :(
  7. No worries Kev, soon though mate? Does anyone have any trim parts kicking around for the MK5 R32 lump? I'm struggling with the MK4 stuff that came with the setup! Need a cable guide for the coilpacks (runs along the top of the intake mani) and also the metal bracket that fits at the passenger side and secures things like the vacuum pipes, main and secondary loom and other various items.
  8. Oh and also have a quick look in my thread can ya mate! Got a query, ta! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  9. As I've almost got everything now Kev, how's this weekend for you? I know I've already proposed 2 dates but this is the one, I have the loom and everything, just missing one lambda and spark plugs but they're overdue so should be any day now. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  10. It's weird Sam i've had no problem watching it!! We're approaching dday guys .....Will it start or will it not?
  11. It's starting to look great isn't it! not as cool as yours though Kev :). Does the flow direction on the oil cooler matter mate? I'm fiddling around with pipework at the moment and struggling to get the oem pipes I have to fit! I have got one to work (came off the new engine) but the other side to the crack pipe there's nothing in my collection of pipes that will work, did you have this problem? It only became a problem when I twisted the oil cooler forward to give room to the vacuum solenoid and damper(?) box. It's more of a bugger that the crack pipe connector is much smaller! Gonna need two sizes of silicone hose and an adaptor im thinking? I'm especially pleased with my hacking up of the old and new vacuum tubes for the brake servo to make a new oem looking setup, heat gun helped massively :) Thanks Jacqui :)

  13. Seems to work fine for me mate? Thanks Sam love seeing the end result! Yeah pics would be ace please, good to see how everyone has achieved it. I know I will end up cutting the carpet but I'd rather sit it right before I get the knife out. Is yours a top hinged pedal? I also noticed that my mother has the same pedal in her skoda! It actually sits slanted in there, but looks like the rh trim in the corrado will get in the way... I guess we have to live with it being not quite oem?
  14. As Mark has confirmed its all wired up, can I be safe in the bet that my Vag COM will still work via the 2+2 plug? This was one thing I forgot to ask but as he's very thorough I can assume he's included it.
  15. I will have to wait and see kev, I heard the same from Mark yesterday when paying him for the loom. The weird thing is I googled the pn and was getting increasingly convinced I'd got the wrong one as the PN was suggesting 1.9 and 2.0 tdi golfs, but then noticed in the ebay page they said they removed it from a 1.6 petrol ... Will have to wait and see I guess!
  16. OK, £13 posted fair to you? Want a pic before finalising? Will be getting them all uploaded soon.
  17. Sorry Kev I just re read your initial message, I mistook what you said and thought it was better mpg when you removed the dta, hence the confusion.... One of those days I guess. Thought dta was a module or something lol. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  18. DTA Kev? I could manage fine with the 2.9 as a daily, i hope the r isn't significantly worse than that! Clock was saying 27mpg around town. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  19. It is a real shame to hear this mate, I know how I felt the first Corrado I sold. I feel for you I guess no kids and marriage makes it easier for me, I can imagine the corrado would be on rough ground for me too in a similar situation. I'm sure you're making the responsible, adult decision. Was the ownership of an R32'd corrado worth it? Am I getting myself into a world of empty wallets? Can't be as bad as owning an orignal VR6'd one.
  20. Hi all, Just going through my conversion I've got some spares that I've replaced through preventative maintenance. The car had no hiccups or any issues before the work so all these items are working, but likely to have done around 130k miles with the original engine (unless otherwise stated). Alternator no squeaks or low voltage problems - £30 Steering rack, again completely fine - £30 Good condition tie rod ends (don't appear to have covered many miles) - £10 ISV Damper nearly new, replaced when the last one went kaboom >6 months old - Sold ISV - £10 ISV pipework - £10 VR6 MAF, never thrown a fault but never checked for integrity - £30 Lambda sensor, was an absolute pig to remove and slightly dented the housing, should be fine though looks good nick - Sold Milltek Decat - standard diameter (~2.25") with extension pipe to fit most systems - Sold Intake corrugated pipe, only 2 years old, the hard plastic type replaced when my rubber one split - £30 Engine plastic cover (will double check condition I believe there's a crack which I repaired) - £10 Throttle body - Sold All prices plus postage & packaging I will update this when I find more, prices are open to negotiation and ask me for parts I may have but not listed, it doesn't hurt. Pics will follow this evening (19/07). Engine is also for sale, please see dedicated sale thread.
  21. Is yours as close to the side as mine is Sam? I've gotta get a new oil filter housing guys, mines shagged either by me (but who'd admit that!) or a previous owner. Will any MK5 pedal really work? I thought I saw someone's build thread having issues with anything that wasnt the R32 pedal (cant find it now though conveniently) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-MK5-2003-to-2008-ACCELERATOR-GAS-PEDAL-1K2-721-503-M-/320935370095?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Cars+Type%3A3.2+R32+4motion&hash=item4ab93d1d6f#ht_1864wt_986 This one for instance? ---------- Post added at 6:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:14 PM ---------- Any vids of the amazing sound Sam? I could watch it to keep me going on this conversion :pale:
  22. Huge disappointment today, found out the filter housing is shagged, either by my doing or by someones previous attempts. The thread is stripped on one of the sensor ports, as I'm so close to getting it running its time to ring vw and get a price *gulp* Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  23. Just attempted to order a pedal matching the pn for the standard r32 but it's broken according to seller so no pedal :-( will any floor mounted mk5 pedal work? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  24. Yeah, well the way it's likely to kick will be straight into my poly front mount (i know only the front mount, weird huh?). Although i've just seen you're talking about the gearbox mount....arse. That is a standard one, I'll just go and stiffen all of the mounts if it comes to it.
