  1. What was the hose afraid of exactly? :norty: Sorry, couldn't resist! No harm in replacing any vacuum hose that may be leaking!
  2. Well, I've had a chat with a mate of mine who has some pods that are about 4 years old - they sound identical from verbal description - even down to the relatively home brew finishing.... Will know more on the weekend.
  3. They have arrived and look good - I'm yet to compare to my mate's older Audioscape ones however. Will post here once I have. HE DID send them when he said he did, however - postmark to prove.
  4. I've been told that they're excellent - how do you guys rate the sound that they produce, based on your audio setups?
  5. I'd say that's going to be a bit tight and you'd need a fair old stretch to get it anywhere near legal. (pure speculation though, based on previous experience)
  6. Amen to the Beckers - The only unit in this thread that looks right and looks OE - and the only unit for anyone that wants subtle quality! Wish I could afford one!
  7. What's the price on those? I've been looking for one for a while but never got around to investigating further!
  8. Great praise from everyone - really encouraging! Can you do me a very quick basic quote on the following? '94 VR6 - 110k Manual: Fit Timing chain - virtually all parts purchased from VW already bar the large oil flange sealy thing. Supply and fit clutch kit Supply and fit Headgasket/headset and spacer + arp bolts (both the latter will be supplied) Fit SP263 cams and lifters, swap cam sprockets etc to seperate pre-rebuilt head (most parts already purchased) re-fit new head. Thanks, Josh
  9. Yeah, they seem to be! I checked the chap's name on the site with his details etc - all sounds Kosher. You know when you just have a weird feeling about something? What I'd really like to do is post back and say "all sorted - fantastic product" or see someone else do the same! Thanks for moving VR6.
  10. Do remember the basics, such as wiring at the spoiler and the fuses,(as Jim said) just in case. No point taking it all apart to find that it was just a silly blade fuse! If you needs parts to replace, switch/module/mech/motor, let me know as I have spares kicking about of all of these at present so just drop me a message. (this wasn't meant as a pure advert guys!)
  11. Hey guys and gals.. Just wanted to ask really - Although the guy selling them is the guy listed on the audioscape website, something just seems a bit off about it all. Not sure why. Mine were meant to turn up on the 5h and then the 9th, but to no avail. Apparently he's looking into it.... I guess I'm trying to ease my mind that some of you have already bought them and recieved them. I also commented in another thread about looking at potential quality differences between the older and newer versions due to the apparent sale of the company - any comments so far? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-corrado-Audioscape-Door-build-SUMMER-SALE_W0QQitemZ250496864530QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3a52c6d112&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  12. I've run hubcentric spacers pretty much since I've owned a car. HnR quality is race spec, and I'm happy as larry with that. Motorsport and rally cars often run spacers, so if those extremes are alright, me pootling around must be as well.
  13. How much are you banging these out for nowdays Dave?
  14. You guys have almost secured my business, even though FLUX are actually cheaper.... Anything you can do to sweeten me up a bit? :) I've gotta say that I prefer your excess for starters...!
  15. Doubt you'll see much change from a grand for that lot!

    Cheers Dukey Boy!
  17. Same just happened to mine fella. Again, looks like a new cableset, as there's no way of refitting a new connector unless you're some kind of engineering legend.

Pull the headlamp flasher stalk all the way back. Then the sidelights will remain on, but the headlights will turn off. I'm not sure why this happens! When you put headlights on, however, they will now be on full beam, so you'll have to pull the stalk back again to flick em back onto dipped. If anyone knows why - please detail it below!
  19. Agreed, I've been informed that the S70 engine is meant to be pretty bombproof, but to have two coilpacks, batteries and alot of other things is going to virtually double servicing costs without a doubt.... but what would you expect? Anyhow, I think this thread has bought about some interesting discussion! One of the reasons I even considered this car is... well, I only do about 6k a year now and it'd be kept under cover. However... .....Would driving a car like this so infrequently be even worse?
  20. I think some of you might have missed the CSI bit?! The 5.6L V12 is defo quicker than the 4.4L V8! Anyhow, the reason I wanted that one, is that it's the ultimate 8 series, much like I think the VR6 is the ultimate Corrado! I've been pondering over this today and have decided: A) I drove the rado pretty hard today and it had me smiling all the way - Popping a flame on gearchange through a tunnel earlier had me and the mrs in stitches. B) I would lose my license instantly in the Bimmer C) It's not raw enough to be a weekend plaything, as my rado is. D) The rado is now definitely going to get the supercharger fitted and is going to get a fair bit of cash spent on her. Going to keep her for a while longer. E) I will have an 8 series one day :)
  21. Well, for context: Firstly I'd need a bridging loan, so would have to get that and then sell the C Secondly, I'd need fully comp quotes from my usual insurers - I know I can insure it TPFT Thirdly - this would only be a weekend play car, I've got a company motor for a daily ;)
  22. Well.. I've always wanted one since I was taken for a ride in my mates dad's 840 when I was about.... 8 years old?! Been thinking about it more and more recently and thought - I'll go and see one - maybe I'll discount it completely or maybe I'll fall in love. Well, I thought this one would be a total dog, so I wouldn't have to worry about actually contemplating buying it... Mistake. It was in pretty good nick! Not the best, and not commanding the best price a mint one would, but maybe that makes it more attainable. Fast in an EPIC sorta way, but unbelievably smooth. Do 120mph and it feels like 40. Good? well..... possibly! Added to this, it has an incredible array of toys... (to go wrong) including memory seats, an electric rear sunblind, 4 wheel active steering etc! So 5.6L V12 produced by the M division of BMW 0-60 in under 6 seconds... Amazing design with a silly low drag co-ef An iconic car and rare, which is virtually an M8 (a detuned version, to be fair) Thoughts??
  23. Ah! Nice Idea Zak, Can you get a pic up sometime, as that'd probably make it a lot easier for a lot of people. We really should write a new guide!
