  1. Hi Sam, Yes, back now - had a mental half week at work though.... covered about 800 miles in three days, and I'm NOT a lorry driver! Got your PM, need to go up to my parents' place to get photos, as the bonnet's still on my car (don't have the z4 yet!) I think Stu's got a photo that he's gonna post up for me when he gets a chance, in the interim. Josh
  2. Err, yes.. and yes. Will deal with the above when I get back from hols. PM me please if you require any info etc.
  3. Aye - it's a gel coat underframe so you can use the standard bonnet pins and catch, rather than the race spec ones. I had Mike at performance trim cut in the mk4 washer jet holes as an optional extra, and then bought the jets from VW. Just so you're aware - I'm on on holiday on Monday for 2 weeks - so if you're interested, we can talk when I'm back. Josh
  4. Nice one Milky! Same - give me a shout.
  5. I'd strongly suggest the ARPs.... far less work for me that way :)
  6. Pretty much as above Neil, It's a huge amount of work and hassle, and you do get left with a lot of bits that just don't move. Grey interior plastics spring to mind! It used to be quite lucrative, but now that everyone is doing it, supply of some parts has outstripped demand. Also, some sellers punt stuff out so cheaply that it isn't worth trying to compete sometimes. Forum users tend to look around for bargains! This is all great for buyers, but if you are looking to sell parts, makes things more difficult. Couldn't really have done any of it without working with a mate through the entire process.
  7. Red Bull are at least a season in front of everyone else in terms of aero development. Adrian Nuey (sp?!) needs to be shot for being too bloody clever! Schumacher is an absolute dick. He chose to defend his honour.... but ended up looking like nothing more than a bitter old man. Oh... and Vettel has a lot of growing up to do yet.... he's very much like Hamilton used to be.
  8. This sounds like a very good idea guys - I've no idea what kind of relay I'd need as I've never really used them before - any further advice appreciated. (Have some spares from what was probably a headlight loom a while ago... I'm guessing it's about the current and number of poles etc?!
  9. I think it must be under 30A - it seemed to keep blowing fuses under that rating. I've actually taken it back to the fuse board onto a main switched live that powers various other dash stuff - but I think it's now blown that circuit?! Bit of a nightmare... but less of a nightmare than trying to get everything working with the standard setup and aftermarket fans- can't find the gremilins in the system that make it overheat all the time!
  10. If it's on a constant live, then it carries on operating for ages afterwards - I do eventually want to get it active from a temp sender/relay live as well, like the afterrun mechanism, but for the moment, I need a switched live in the engine bay - that's all. Very difficult apparently?!
  11. Hi guys and gals, Probably a very simple question, but I need to locate a switched live in my engine bay to run my Revotec fans from (off a revotec controller unit) Where would be the best/easiest place to tap into a normal switched live cable? Any help appreciated. Josh
  12. All loom connectors are, without a shadow of a doubt, removable from the window control module.
  13. Happens to the best of us mate. As I have a company vehicle to use, it doesn't matter if the Rado is running or not... so much so that I left her with cooling problems for ages until I had to eventually SORN her! I agree that you have remember what a great drive these cars are - unless you have something else rather tasty to play with?! There are always going to be niggles with cars of this age... you either make a list and slowly sort them... or ignore them and drive ;)
  14. Yup.. you need to let it get all the air out of the system by letting it "volcano" out of the expansion tank after filling. As said, remember to give the top and bottom rad hoses a good squeeze now and again during the process to keep everything flowing. Shouldn't have any problems after this.
  15. :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: Poor XJ220! We all know they had their problems, but what an incredible car. You're a moron for calling it a piece of crap, simple as.
  16. I've got a set of straps ready for refurbing if you want to purchase them - drop me a message :)
  17. VR lump with R32 oil pump and shallow sump? Should be laughing then!
  18. What's the point in running two subs and only coax up front? Surely if you're looking for decent sound you're going to want comps... especially to get some decent treble in to balance out all that bass!?
  19. Ramp extensions - price dependant! Me too.
  20. Exactly the question I was going to ask! I had to make some low entry ramps for mine, but if some metal ones are available......!
  21. The only shape R32 to have :) I've always wanted one.. even though it is a Golf  :ignore:
  22. I wouldn't normally touch GSF for anything that's important to the mechanical running of the car... but... Victor Reinz seems to be the usual choice for head gasket kits here there and everywhere, so I don't think you can go too far wrong with that. If Schimmel Performance sell them, they must be ok ;)
  23. i'd love to be... but I just can't deal with 'feeding through' all the time!!
