  1. I wonder how many other VRG's there are ?
  2. Decided to get a new no plate for the vr.Went on DVLA web site last thursday, chose one i liked, payed up & received paperwork yesterday.Went down to DVLA office this am & now plates are on! Suprised how quick & efficient it all was.Am pleased with new plate.
  3. Looks like youve been having fun there! Thats one thing mines never had replaced, looks like a bit of a job & a half.
  4. A body shop would deffo do a better job, however i did mine myself with aerosols bought from vw & its a pretty good finish.

  7. I will be driving up sat afternoon & camping sat night for Sunday.Could you save me a pitch for tent please Ben if poss.Do you normally get a bbq going?
  8. Had mine in for over a week now,a nice boost in power & sounds 'crisper' & more willing to rev, lost some of the top end 'roar' though.Going to get re mapped in September
  9. Daleboy,You wouldnt be able to it without removing pulley cover plate as pulley bolts come out that end & cover plate houses tensioner.Main tip would be when installing cams, back off crank 1/4 turn & make sure no pistons are at top of stroke.Cams cant be bolted down in there timing set up position.Dont mix up cam caps! Its not a bad job but then this is my day job too !
  10. Very impressive line up of cars on club stand, would love to get up North to this show or others next year.
  11. Have you started fitting yours yet Lewis ?
  12. Not been too busy at work this week so able to spend some time with the C.Decided to not bother cleaning up calipers i got from breakers & got some new-exchange from GSF.Shiney! Chose 288mm discs as carriers for 312mm were fairly pricey new & couldnt find any used.Found out V5 discs dont fit but Mk3 golf do.So Jurid discs & pads, new calipers & hoses fitted & looking good,so much better than what came off! Also managed to fit the SP263 cams i bought on the group buy, along with an oil change & new set of plugs. Finished this job this morning & enjoyed a test drive. The difference wasnt instantly obvious but after a couple of miles i realised the change in engine noise,it sounds more crisp & wants to rev more freely. The top end roar you are used to with the vr is not as noticable, & it pulls better through all gears.Im going to book a remap with Stealth soon & look forward to the results. Will be interested in other peoples opinions when they are fitted. Enjoyed a little run out this morning & tried to get some better pics
  13. Sorry, could i retract my last offer. They are a great price but have spent quite a bit on my c lately & i dont need them as much as i first thought

  20. Yes,they had 288mm discs .Its good to know that 312 discs will work so i just need to get different carriers.thanks for that
