  1. I suspect the gellifying of modern E10 fuels causes starvation due to choking the pump via the screen to the point the screen gets sucked into the pump causing a bigger issue than the Gell?

  3. I'm sure I saw it advertised last year as needing bodywork?
  4. Pirtek do all sorts of hydraulic fittings, usually you’ll find one locally to you
  5. As have most classics post COVID boom Any old owners tempted back?
  6. It's still in its box lol, too much other stuff going on atm, want to drain the tank as I suspect the pre filter was blocked leading to it going missing and ultimately seized the pump.
  7. Arrived today, took 7 days to arrive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Exactly that, the 4 bar thing just muddies the water and in practice how often do our 30 year old cars go above a license losing 100 MPH or climb a steep incline at full throttle? If you're big power / turbo'd then you need to look at fuel delivery carefully.
  9. It was cheap lol. The 2 above have smaller pump intakes and gauze filter screens so will block easier with debris and Gell from modern fuels - if you have a petrol mower drain the tank and see the floaters therein. I suspect they're pretty much all the same anyway.
  10. I've bought this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204942699313?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11051.m43.l1123&mkcid=26&ch=osgood&euid=dc3b4383eb1b4ba199db00fc3817e515&bu=44277270804&osub=-1~1&crd=20240910094419&segname=11051
  11. The fuel pump pre filter sections look approx half the diameter of the OE pumps? So could possibly block quicker with debris from our 30 year old fuel tanks?
  12. Withstand- sounds like the point of failure? Deliver X LPM @ 4 bar working pressure (set by FPR on the fuel rail). If fuel returns to the tank the pump is achieving the preset of the FPR? You then need the LPM to achieve whatever the engine demands under load? Anyway, the GSF pump I fitted 10/12 years ago after the OE caused issues at low fuel levels when navigating roundabouts (rubber pump mounts were dissolved) has seized causing my non start issues (I have a nice spark at the plugs). On removing the pump anything rubber - pump mounts, pump seals and even the large tank seal is softened to the point of liquorice, even the gauze pre-filter at the end of the pump has collapsed. I'd recommend anyone thinking of replacing their pump only into their existing swirl-or to inspect it prior, anyone smelling fuel inside the car inspect their main tank / pump seal. So I too am in the market for a full pump / swirl pot assembly. Only use E5 fuels in your Corrados to extend the life of your rubber fuel parts.
  13. Pumps don’t deliver pressure do they? they pump litres per minute? Figures below are for representative purposes only (mental arithmetic) a pump may deliver 5 LPM open ended, 4 LPM @ 1 bar, 3.5 LPM @ 2 bar, 2.5 LPM @ 4 bar. . if a VR6 engine does 4.5 MPG (4.5L is one gallon) @ 120 MPH (2 miles per minute) the pump needs to deliver 2 L @ 4 bar or above to fuel the engine? I spent 21 year working in a dairy with huge pumps, they were always rated at LPM @ a given pressure a 4 bar pump is meaningless without delivery volume and vice versa?
  14. If you have vcds you can view the temp sensor readings.
  15. I have, but fla has first refusal if I decide to sell
  16. Will you be going to Tatton Park? what are the sumptuous of blown ecu? Cranks, shows some signs of life on the dash (RPMs), then fades away? mine won’t start, changed the crank sensor twice the got fed up and left it there 😜 never failed y to o start in 13 years prior to this
  17. Some of the camper conversion fabric suppliers have OE roof materials for VAG, I doubt they’ll have corrado though you could try Martrim at sandbach
  18. Similar, old age stuff, arthritis etc been worse, could be better.
  19. Nice to see you look in, hows life treating you? I can now post again, thanks Toby
  20. I love a MK2 (can't afford one these days), but there's no comparison between the Corrado and a more door? My Corrado is sulking (6 years standing) and won't start ATM
  21. Have you tested yours? They give a small voltage dependant on oxygen level in the exhaust gasses. If it's 4 wire, one pair will be for a heater to help warm up and quicker function. Lambda and MAF / MAP are linked, codes for one often end up being the other as the "dumb" ECU uses best guesses, it's up to the tech to use his wily skills to determine which if any are faulty. Check wiring and plugs for security and cleanliness.
  22. Go to your nearest windscreen fitter and give him a drink in exchange for his glue?
