Hi Jim As im sure you know engine work can open up a whole can of worms. Unfortunately I ended up, well vince, chasing round parts that were not refreshed & ended up being weak links in the chain full post on http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=44751&page=2&highlight=g0ldf1ng3r but a summary of parts is here for you..... Head rebuild inc new gaskets, valve seals, re-seated valves etc etc(this was done twice as vince re-done all work to make sure all issues were fixed) Full set of chains & tensioner's Schimmel 263 cams BMC CDA Custom stealth ECU remap - graphs to follow Roose motorosport hoses & clips, full set Thermostat & housing Primary & auxilary (electric) water pumps All 3 cooling temp sensors Oil temp sensor golf V5 starter motor Vibratechnics front engine mount OEM rear gearbox mount Valeo clutch with revised release bearing (as the original shed its grease & the 2nd one chirped like crazy) & new clutch arm assembly etc Sump oil pump Sump & gasket Core plug Battery Valeo heater matrix

Brilliant work Jim! Your tenacity with this is very much appreciated by many :) I think I may be needing 3 pairs now ive my old valver back & the gf's storm to cater for as well as the VR I will happily await the new thread & PM :D Edit - & great timing too jim as I will be tackling the valvers matrix via dash out very soon lol

hi sam it will depend on what body revision they are from - is the pearl grey a late model? what reg? I know that the late models, eg N reg, are the 3rd body revision type & that included greater flaring of the arches on the wings - thus they may not match if the spare you have is of an early type as you say it might be worth your while dropping into a good body shop by you & asking if they can give you an estimate, or at least say if they can repair it, from the photos good luck - the pearl grey can be a lovely colour

Hi all Im hoping somebody might be able to help as i have PM'd Kris but no reply as of yet. I had a short while ago saved as a favourite the guide Kris produced with all the great pictures he took http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=45452 Unfortunately when i went to print it last week it seems the embedded links he used to imageshack for the pictures are either not working or struggling to work correctly (as a couple of pics displayed but most were missing) I wondered if anyone here had taken a copy of it or printed it out when it was in its full glory? & if so would they be kind enough to send me a copy? :) I was hoping to use it next month when i attempt to replace the matrix on my early valver Thanks in advance Andy
