  1. awesome, many thanks no rush m8, whenever you get chance is cool :) i think i just need the ISO's & a few inches of the wires that go into them, as the latter will help me match up what i have behind the dash i will pop the stereo out that is currently just filling the hole later today & have a peek to confirm, will drop you a PM later
  2. matrix itself is not such an issue - it really isnt that hard to change one, just time consuming it is why the VR is over pressurising that is worrying me - hoping for news today
  3. i have been looking into this & found the recall number & details of the recall - http://www.cars.com/recalls/volkswagen-corrado-1992/ it reads as though a one way valve is not the correct item, nor should it go in the hose to the throttle housing, i qoute: DEALERS WILL INSTALL IN THE COOLANT INLET HOSE TO THE HEATER CORE, A PRESSURE REDUCER WITH A 5MM DIAMETER SECURED BY A SPRING TENSIONED HOSE CLAMP. ALSO A NEW RELAY THAT WILL CHANGE THE OPERATION OF THE SECONDARY ELECTRICAL COOLANT PUMP WILL BE INSTALLED. clearly saying it goes in the matrix inlet hose but now ive read the OP first post again maybe we are on about different things
  4. coincidence indeed - my valve arrived mid last week.....then my VR popped its matrix on friday before i had chance to either fit it or give it the mechanic (as it was in his shop for work anyway) i believe these valves were to stop the matrix blowing IF the system overpressurised, as detailed here http://www.cars.com/recalls/volkswagen-corrado-1992/
  5. ha ha tidy lol from what i can muster you just need to check you currently have greater than 7mm gap horizontally between tire on 15" & the arch & that the inner side of the tire can move 2.7mm inwards i think
  6. not sure - i have always just used the spades & then taped them up well i also thought rayne had stopped selling as i had emailed about their heated seat offerings but never got a reply personally, i wouldnt use the raynve kit due to reading of quite a few failures
  7. lol that is the bit i could never figure should the OE tire size not be 195/50/15 though? shouldnt be running on a 40 profile for 15's
  8. thank mic - im trying m8, believe me im trying both my mechanic & myself share your amazement - neither of us could figure how or why it blew the matrix bit typical as i literally took delivery of a one way valve to put back in the coolant hoses as stealth didnt swap the OE one into the roose pipes which could possibly have saved the matrix no mayo on filler cap, no sign of oil mixing with coolant in header tank & a head scratcher as to why the matrix blew when the header cap didnt. the latter goes at 20 PSI apparently something is not right though as when it has over pressurised 3 times now. 1st time i thought it was a jubilee on the aux water pump but then it blew there again & now with a new aux pump fitted the matrix let go plus i am mystified as Stealth only rebuilt the head about 10K ish miles ago, when i replaced pretty much everything that could be suspect in this event. if it turns out to be head gasket i am going to be fuming as it would be yet another saga with the stealth work, which was painful enough as it is. AFAIK vince did the 2nd head rebuild himself due to so many issues with the 1st rebuild might have to track my cc/'s as i think i part paid on a card - does anyone know if c/c insurance covers part payments or just full payments for things?
  9. well screw me sideways with a fecking chainsaw!! the VR is throwing her toys out yet again :( mechanic finished the welding, after being a bitch & reacting 4 times to the stuff he was putting over it, & was about to take her for a test drive to see how the new brakes are warmed her up gently & all good until she decided to over pressurise yet again but this time blew the fecking matrix out none of the obvious head gasket signs but she is not happy for some reason proper sucked the life out of me all weekend & not a happy bunny today
  10. hi m8 FYI i run 16's on my valver with 195/45/16 on front & 205/50/16 on the rear (the rear will be changed when tires are worn) i am unsure of the offset the BBS's have though & their width there is a website that allows you to enter the old & new wheel info & show you how it fits/fouls - ths one http://www.willtheyfit.com/
  11. hi marks2 could i pls take you up on that very kind offer? i know that the ISO's have both been cut on my valver & i am going to have to try & find the ends behind the dash to resolder some back on being able to know which wires i am looking for by tracing back from the ISO would be a great help
  12. sounds about right & kind of lin line with the VW prices before they stopped stocking them
  13. ha ha that is THE question of the month lol ;)
  14. i have one early (16v) & one late (VR6) - not too much difference with them in the main i have found so far in terms of cabin having had door cards off both vehicles they are pretty the same in that area, apart from the obvious window switches might be worth you whipping the drivers card off & seeing how that is in comparison
  15. is it the handle to tilt the top half of the seat forward or the one that tilts the base down?
  16. how very odd Easypops only 2 wires need to be ran though if indeed the originals are found not to be there though that itself would be a mystery as surely the factory speakers wire emanate from a loom - might be worth checking by the passenger under trays
  17. ahh poop - give it a while & it might come back, mine did but took 2 years ;)
  18. ha ha you gotta love the self heailing of some of these rado's!! my valver's heated rear screen started working the other week, having not worked since i brought it back lol
