  1. m8 if only I had a little money to take some of that delicious JL kit off your hands :( lol
  2. WHOA!!! bloody good reason there m8 but a shame after such a result was produced I will be interested to see how you get on with the weight saving on this new direction - im still playing with the idea of removing most of the valver interior lol
  3. lol they are all 50Z something m8 ;) just make sure you give the VIN to whichever supplier you choose so as they can double check on their system
  4. I would tend to say so too Jim what does your VIN end in? just need to confirm that it ends with a higher number than 44188 I am presuming it is a late model rado? I know my early valver was the fine spline, thus the 36 grove one
  5. had a little google just out of interest saw a devils own brand that im sure I had seen a kit for sale on here, http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/171-vr6 then found a VROC page & guess who's name popped up - Vince, he gets everywhere that guy lol http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/forums/topic/161-woo-hoo-water-methanol-injection-here-i-come/ the OP was also recommended it instead of an intercooler - some good comments on there though
  6. I was still wondering until I got to your last sentence lol I thought it might be an intercooler. I guess when using a charger the cooler needs to be much closer then are you not tempted to turbo & ditch the charger, rather than adding the meth injection? & why the desire for more power m8? is it simply wanting / chasing more horses or is all that sublimely spectacular audio build weighing you down now? ;)
  7. Pleasure Jim :) Just check you VIN code & then if it is after the one stated in the parts matrix I ordered it through my work but as mentioned they have many motor factors - Allparts, CES, GMF, BMF so any of them should be able to help you this is their branch locator in case that helps also http://www.thepartsalliance.com/index.php/about-the-parts-alliance/our-branches
  8. a front mount what causing a power loss EJ? I think methanol injection is popular over in the states but not 100% - might be worth looking on some forums over there
  9. looking at the part info I put in the previous post for you TRW is the one I would say give me a minute, I am trying to find the price I paid... EDIT: got it - I paid about £120 for the rack & then had to also pay a £90 surcharge which was refunded once I had returned my old rack. Please note I am unsure if I got a discount of some form where I got it from so prices may vary online
  10. Hi Jim I work for the sister company of The Parts Alliance, who have many motor factors around the country. When I replaced the rack on the valver I learnt the hard way that the splines on the rack differ depending on VIN number, one is coarse & one is fine. I have found the data they sent me regarding the part split, which I have copied below for you: Line OE Number Splines VIN Note Supplier Drive Note 1 535 422 061C 36 >>50ZNK044187 TRW LHD J 4 535 422 061B 22 50ZNK044188>> TRW LHD J 2 191 422 061SX 36 >>50ZNK044187 TRW LHD 3 191 422 061KX 22 50ZNK044188>> TRW LHD 5 1H1 422 061DX ZF LHD VR6 6 192 422 061P 36 >>50ZNK044187 TRW RHD 7 192 422 061K 22 50ZNK044188>> TRW RHD 8 1H2 422 061AX TRW RHD VR6 I just went with the supplier who was able to provide the part. from memory they initially ordered the later 22 spline version, which was made up to order. they then had to replace it with a 36 spline version for my early valver but oddly I recall them saying the supplier had one on the shelf lol also, the above part did not come with track rod ends, it was literally just the rack itself I hope that helps
  11. holy cow that looks nice! have a look in the members gallery for someone Scotland way who had a race corrado last year. they have recently sold it & had an advert on here in fact, scratch the above here is the lovely beast I refer to http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?92843-1991-Corrado-20vT-Race-Car&highlight=race+car I understand they just modified the stock bumper but they are in the 'race' arena & may be able to help direct you alternatively, at the other end of the country, you could try JMR (John Mitchel Racing) though I do not know what they offer or do, I have just read good things with their corrado this is their build thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?88138-John-Mitchell-JMR-Ltd-4WD-16V-Turbo-Corrado-Build&highlight=john+mitchell+racing good luck
  12. lol I am wishing I had done that to the one in the valver when I changed the matrix last summer as I now need to take it all apart again to do the heater box flaps :(
  13. look forward to reading this it is sad times when things like this happen & makes me extremely thankful to have a mechanic I trust & have done so for 20 odd years
  14. typical - no rain since I tackled the door membrane might have to wash it later to force as test lol
  15. nice! I need 1, no 2, no ZERO of those LOL
  16. no EJ not a forum page but there is https://www.facebook.com/groups/VwCorradoChat/ a few of us on here are on there too lots of parts etc pop up & lots of people asking for advice etc I should have thought of you when I saw this post as I knew you are close to oxford - I did mention you in the 'double DIN stereo' one though, hope you don't mind :)
  17. ha ha ha at least it was worth the wait, kinda lol
  18. hi Neil I believe to remove & refit the bushes you will need a press & can not be done by hand, or is extremely difficult from personal experience I would recommend preparing to replace the brake bias valve as they can be very troublesome to disconnect so as to allow the rear beam to drop ok also, avoid poly bushes etc for the rear beam & use the standard OE bushes as they are designed to flex somewhat
  19. hi m8 I saw your post on fb last night but when I check the distance it is rather far from me & fuel would be expensive. I think it was the reading area wasn't it?
  20. good idea Kip - lots of room to secure them along the air channels too that way MZPog - the glove box is a beatch as the bottom of it gets stuck & you have to kind of 'get the pry bar out' as you say to squeeze the bottom of the glove box up a tad to get over the metal bar in the hole it comes out of in the dash
  21. true - there isn't much room behind there is there even with standard size head unit I always struggle to tuck the RCA leads somewhere as stop the unit from going back far enough
  22. I think it might be possible to only remove the metal panel so as to access that lifter part one side broke on my VR but I haven't tackled it
  23. im sure they have been done m8 EJ Taylor springs to mind - he has the black beast with roll cage & awesome JL audio build Jamie someone, C maybe - the one with the Porsche wheels, red rado - something makes me think he may have but then could be double din n3p possibly - I know he retrimmed dash but cant recall what stereo he had - obviously sold now but should still be the VRT thread cant help with the recommendations though sorry - I run an Ipod only Sony unit
