the lad i bought it off had lost his licence a while ago so its been sat since feb but it has new wishbones, rad, alt, pads, 1rear caliper, battery, matrix also came with motorised jvc h/u, alpine v12 amp and 12" pioneer sub, sony front speakers etc, the bbs have 4 new bravus? tyres, bit of a big dtm style exhuast and k&n filter which i cleaned today as was oily it failed mot in feb on h/l too high, horn, not working and play in steering column - he`d sorted the first two and today i bolted the column solid the central locking has failed but he put a new pump in with no joy so i cant open the boot from the outside and ive no key for the boot its done 172k with stamps upto 131k when the cambelt was done last few other receipts dating back to 2001, it uses a bit of oil 1l/750miles, and about a week before he sold it someone hit the pass door, he`s pushed it out bit it would need bodyshopping really but looks ok for a cheap hack. tiny bubble of rust on rear panel and rear arch and windscreen seal is kaput

 No you don't just tilt the roof half way up, pull the lining panel towards the back of the car and it pops off the underside of the roof panel, then you can get at the 4 torx screws, 2 either side to remove the panel, 5 mins work. i stand corrected!!!! was putting in a whole new mech when i did it and couldnt see the easy way, glad you posted or else hed of been curing me if he found out later :D
-
you have to remove the entire roof lining and take the whole mechanism out, then you can get to the screws for the panel, bit of a ballache but shouldnt take more than an ofternoon, getting it lined up when refitting is a righjt pain though
-
