Out of curiosity can this help cut down on oil consumption?
-
I got myself some febi top mounts of eBay no problems from them so far.
-
maybe if we get enough people together in one area it would he worth your while to make a trip. Have read a little about this and some what interested, not doubting it works but have been told giving the engine a good helping of acceleration now and again can clear a lot of carbon out.

Castle Combe VW/Audi day 14th july
captainredeye replied to captainredeye's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
It is a shame as Hull is quite a way to come for the track day and combe is a great course. I have booked a stand and there are more spaces for any one else wanting to jump on board. Also here is a link to the prices for the track sessions http://www.autometrix.co.uk/trackdays/buy_tracktime.html if anyones feeling dangerous. -
Nice, how go you find the grip looks a little uncomfortable.

Stealth Racing Schimmel 263 group buy!

Thanks for the update Vince. I believe OSV has some for sale, if it gets someone out of a pickle you could buy those and sell your cams on when they arrive from the states. By the way im not on the list but in no rush either. -
I like it but I think I would make do with a Nissan gtr and a tent for that sort of money.

Why get a cheque from the council just to give it back to them, treat the car.

Short of speaking to vince does any one know of when we might be expecting these, no rush more curious if anything. -
Sympathise with you Jake as have been in a similar position to you over the past two years. Firstly you can have them by the short and curly s with the hours your working! Its completely illegal to make some one work and not pay them even if they are not rotered to do so. Im sure your head office has a private and confidential help line to speak to for advice JUST MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR IT TO BE KEPT PRIVATE. explain your situation as your probably not the only one and find out what is the best course of action, these situations i find it best to not be vindictive and to be calm and professional and to resolve the situation. Its hard to go over your bosses head and when you do get somewhere it can be your word vs theres and then some! If you cant solve these issues with your managers any time soon chances are they wont sort themselves out unless they all leave, i would either goto the bakery if it makes life easier and keeps you out of the firing line or just go for the other job. Do whats going to make you happy as being miserable is not the way to be and remember change is always good, its what makes life interesting that and a v6.

And then there was three :) -
Looking at getting a second block to build up and replace the current engine, would like some recommendations for engine stands and lifts. Have looked and sealey and machine Mart products which both look good, also little unsure of the lift weight needed as its for th vr and its not the lightest block. Cheers Ben

Castle Combe VW/Audi day 14th july

I agree with you on that jaded! Have not had any communication from the organisers about the group session and with time running out its getting little rushed, I don't like rushed. Maybe think about it for next year and for now we will just go with a stand and park in the paddock. Membership Yeah I'm sure I just renew on the website might even be able to use PayPal. -

Hey jaded2882 think the beast has been round before should give you a good feel for the 4wd ! Can you guys let me know if your club members so I can put you down for the stand, I should also be able to confirm prices later next week! -
Arranging a CCGB club stand for saturday the 14th of july which is in just 3 weeks time, booking 12 cars but can increase the numbers if required. Entry fee is £10 paid at the gate and the site is generally open from 8am for any early birds. There is also the opportunity to have our own track session like we did a couple of years ago, the session is for 12 cars and lasts around 15 minutes, i have been informed that last time it was £30 a car with a 12 car starting line up but have yet to confirm this with Autometrix the event organisers any exact figure, if we don't get enough takers for the track session we can go ahead with a club stand regardless. http://www.autometrix.co.uk/trackdays/index. 1. Finding the site very slow or just freezes been using a mac and safari and sure its not the connection as my phone works fine on the wifi. Have noticed pages with high numbers of images slows down even more. -
Wont lie the 406 has caught my eye on the roads before and still looks somewhat modern despite a lot of new cars looking like spaceships with all there fussy lines.
-
Just had my brake lines knocking against the Drive shaft and only happened under 20mph

So silkoline is the One t go for. Have used motul 8100 and now using castrol gtx and both have quite high oil consumption. What is the average milage per liter of oil used for a vr?

Firstly the camber has been sorted just a case of an employee who couldnt be bothered. Always ask for the manager. The breaks have firmed up no longer spongy and when breaking hard have really noticed a difference great upgrade for the cash! Today i have replaced the headlight loom with an uprated job, the right indicator has been staying on when the headlights are switched on seems to happen more in the damp, bulbs have been changed, relays, fuses and the earth cleaned up but still intermitent so hopefully with the new loom it will bypass the old wiring on the drivers side and we may just have a cure. Also replaced a couple of exhaust rubbers as there been some serious clunkage from below.

I used to get astra drivers trying it on all the time driving fast and tail gateing when i removed the crystal rear lights as I thought them some what chav like the challenges from these knobs stopped. Years ago me and a mate hired a white van and spent the week being the most curtious drivers on the planet did get a few shocked faces.
