Definitive Guide to Corrado Stereo Wiring. Mods pls sticky!
captainredeye replied to smee's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Have done some investigating testing the wires with some odd results, there is power from the live and ignition live and the earth is connected, when testing the live with a bulb and the ignition on the fuel pump primes every time i test the stereo live. When connected the stereo accepts and ejects cd's but it wont turn on and there is no illumination to the face of it. Need to find what and where the grey/blue connects too. Replacing the instrument cluster wiring tomorrow as some of the wires are burnt out, will update if this changes anything. -

Had a look at this today, very smart car and the show n shine at action can be a little same old and biased so well done ! Harrier got a trophy to so that's 2 prize winning rado's

Do a supermarket run on the way down, bunch of bananas and a golden delicious should give you enough stickers for safe passage to ed38. -
Definitive Guide to Corrado Stereo Wiring. Mods pls sticky!

Having problems after removing the dash the stereo won't switch on also the spoiler is very very intermittent now. I have a Kenwood and the wiring has been butchered several times, I have not. . Changed any wires so is the same when it was working, the blue and white speed wire was connected to the stereo live ,earth to earth , red live connected to the radios ignition live, grey blue instruments connected correctly and the cars ignition live not connected to the stereo at all. I don't understand how it could work in the first place but have tested the live and there is power to the stereo from the red live wire and the fuse is not blown so am I just unlucky and the radio happens to of died while removed from the car? -
Quite often you won't get a mortgage on a property with major issues, if a house is sold and not all relevant details are made clear ie. Facts are hidden, then you are covered for this I would speak to your soliciter. Really though i would walk a way, I have had a few heart breaks with properties but the right one will come along

Fire Extinguishers (and why you need one)
captainredeye replied to Stonejag's topic in General Car Chat
Had my dash off today and had to replace a few wires that had burnt and melted. First thoughts buy an extinguisher. -
Job done, replaced some of the foam panels on the matrix flaps as the water leak had destroyed them, it not a terrible job just time consuming ,I will admit at one point doing the timing chains seemed like it would be more fun. Also found the dash had been had out before there was missing screws and some damaged clips which didn't help.
-
Stopped medling with the engine for the time being, leaking matrix has seen to that! Been a real pain getting all of the gubbins out hoping its going to be a lot smoother whacking it back in! The wiki section has really helped with this one.

Not sure they must do night time maneuvers but large munitions after dark possibly not.
-
I can hear munitions going off on Salisbury plain and that is15 miles away, they sound like dull thuds in the sky, not a gun range or quary near by where they have been blasting?

Corrado front end makeover with Custom 2012 Porsche Panamera front end
captainredeye replied to TheVims79's topic in Exterior
Think the point is the front won't match the rear, the Photoshop pic shows it clear as day the contour lines were not designed to follow the line of a Porsche. The Porsche was designed all in one go, imagine taking the front of a corrado and attaching it to the rear of a porka it won't look right! And vice versa Also the 2 cars are nearly 30 years apart , it would be like strapping a corrado nose to a morris traveler , my dad has a traveler but I don't think he would be to pleased if I went ahead with it, Photoshop any one? -

Forgot all about this been a little busy! No stand for the club that I'm aware of but I'm just pitching up with a few friends, Daren sure thing and yes we get a Barbie going -
Try an advert first, not seen the car but if it's tidy most cars sell for more than what you have been offered depends how badly you need the cash plus with under 100k on the clock should make it stand out.
-
Sounds like a challenge :)

A higher compression block has crossed my mind but don't see the ti retainers making much difference as I won't be ragging it every where I go! Not really possible. They go for 150 so should pay for new valves for the head. Cheers Ben ---------- Post added at 10:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 9:40 PM ---------- Cams I have some 263's to fit would 268 be on the wilder side for high revving
-
That is sweet! Chap I spoke to reckoned the valvers can be pushed to 15k revs don't know how true that is but that engine sounded wild, I would give up the vr for that

Corrado front end makeover with Custom 2012 Porsche Panamera front end

No no no no no, spend the money on an effin great turbo and you will be so quick no one will see your ugly head and fog lights -
Bought a ported vr head last month and it has come with a bag of titanium retainers for the valve springs do these make any improvement over standard, if they are not worth having I may sell them on as they are not cheap.

Shop around and even tell your insurer when you have a renewal quote u have had a better offer more often than not they can beat it even if you say the other quote is better than it actually is! As long as your details are correct with a certificate of insurance its all above board. Really think a lot of people pay to much, end of the day insurers run a business and they are not going to hand Bargin insurance to every one so if they want your money make them work for it, if they want to call it a competitive quote make them compete against each other. Only real way to keep your premiums from sky rocketing each year! Summz 750 is not bad at all should come down quite a bit in the next year or two.
