Wheels arrived but damaged - advise needed
captainredeye replied to Rams's topic in General Car Chat
Was it the seller telling you to say they didn't arrive? If they are suggesting you be dishonest in my books they are dishonest and chances are lied about the items condition in the first place, eBay is such a mine field. -

captainredeye replied to robo22sri's topic in Forum Group-Buys
leaving it a little late but I best phone really but do you think stealth would send the cams to us? I would happily fit them myself and a get a remap done at a later point , funds are Ikind of short at the moment but after fitting the schrick mani a remap was on the cards any how. -
42 grand a year and you buy a peugeot, not just gas escaping out your arse its your brains and all.

that's damn crazy with the fog lights but Yeah I have changed a bulb not too long ago it was the head light though and there's only one in the pack so don't think I mixed that up, I will check the earths but have just found on another thread it could be a fuse on the alarm box so will give that a go to.

Looks like a unbranded product which any one can put there own name to.definitive susspension thread lot of info there I would go with kw or weitec though.
-
Count the threads, then measure centre of the wheel to the arch worked for me. oh and from what i have gathered don't buy cheap save up and get something decent.

Just noticed when the headlights are on the right hand indicator stays on also when indicating when the lights are off the headlight flashes too, think I might of got some wires crossed when taking off the slam pannel although the problem seems intermittent. I have replaced relay 99 incase this was the issue. Any ideas.

Hey Peebee, im quite fussy about my music but you definitely get my vote, keep up the good work fella!

If yours is a pearl colour I would stay away from spray cans even after lacquer it really doesn't match, the flecks in the spray don't have the same effect as the original paint ! A good match is needed then blended properly worth splashing out for a professional job a small area shouldn't cost to much either.

camber adjustment after fitting coilovers
captainredeye replied to captainredeye's topic in Drivetrain
Well its all done they were a lot more helpful today and charged me just 19 quid instead of 59! Guy yesterday was a bit of a Dick. Would be nice to use stealth but a 3 hour journey to have the camber fixed is a little far in my books. -
camber adjustment after fitting coilovers

Yeah the front looks like that the camber is quite mental! The car is up on the ramps as I'm typing so we will see quite soon what's what! -

Just found out the main road into east Compton and washingpool farm is closed on Saturday between 1-3pm for a carnival there's a diversion but its quite long. Jake I will sort some cash out for you this evening, oh and don't forget my stickers! -
Think the thing we are forgetting is that the owner may be a member on here and quite frankly some one called my car offensive in what ever context or sense of the word I would be less than pleased.

Just checked the rear top mounts and there was some play but sorted now, by visual inspection it looks a little better on the rear. -
camber adjustment after fitting coilovers
captainredeye replied to captainredeye's topic in Drivetrain
Honestly the steering feels quite good maybe a little slugish. would maybe lowering or raising one of the rear struts have some effect if not a small one problem is i dont fully understand the print out they gave me. The machine they use i an electronic one might be a case off they have not got used to it. -
I was embarrassed to take the photo and i think they noticed me taking the shot which is even worse.

camber adjustment after fitting coilovers
captainredeye replied to captainredeye's topic in Drivetrain
yeah it should be in the attached photo above! apparently they have a brand new gizmo for doing it that allow the adjustment to be done on a flat surface for lowered cars went into bathwick tyres and quickfit and they both told me to try there as they knew they had this equipment. Maybe if i take it to a vw main dealer i will have more luck. -
camber adjustment after fitting coilovers
captainredeye replied to captainredeye's topic in Drivetrain
I did hear that on the grapevine have lepsons gone under ,taken over or hit hard times??. The shocks i put in myself but i have taken it up to autospeed on station hill in chippenham. Find it strange that the rear camber isnt right as its fixed and shouldn't of changed. -
Spotted this to day so give the G60 a break.

camber adjustment after fitting coilovers
captainredeye replied to captainredeye's topic in Drivetrain
Cool will take it in tomorrow and we will see how they get along with it. -
Been to the garage to get the camber done but cant be sorted until i find out the original camber setting for a vr don't understand why. in the mean time here is a few pics, the 288 breaks are little spongy but very good the kw's are amazing, i suspect the old shocks were a bit worn but still for coil-overs they really do absorb the bumps i have them set so the wishbone is resting flat so may raise it a little

I'm after vw's original camber settings for a vr6, have been to the garage after fitting coilovers and have been told they can't adjust the camber unless they know what the original camber was! Also the back is out! but being fixed can't see how its changed.
