  1. It looks like a great day but a long one. The rally Finishes at scone i think so that wont be till the late hours. 8-9. But if everyones up for it then It would get my vote!
  2. Sorry about this Jim, I'm trying to sort this on Svag right now but he is persistent...
  3. Do any of the venues or routes catch your fancy?? Who prefers what and where? is £20 admition to steep for a day out or just right for a full day of motor sport... I have to say... I am interested in the 9th @ scone personally! :D
  4. Just wanted to set up a "Scotland group" much like the other groups in order to send mass pm's and organize meets. Thought it would be easier than creating threads all the time. I've been asked by the other scotland members who went to the last meet to organize another one. Could you do the honours my Lord?
  5. Any more takers? I'll pm those that where interested in the last one just so they know where I moved the thread...
  6. BOngO... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?58305-Scottish-Meet-Calling-all-Scotts!
  7. £50! It hardly seems worth your time faffing around if you can buy one that cheep! I might even get one at that price... (not sure what ill do with a 16v head but im sure i could think of something!)
  8. Hi all! This is the thread for Scottish meets. If you fancy coming and meeting up with some fellow Corrado fella's north of the wall then make a post and I'll add you to the mailing list! Next meet : Killin to Kenmore (Aberfeldy) finishing at the "The Courtyard" Pub I've been through both this thread and the previous one it looks like MOST people can make this date. Please let me know though. If fewer than 5 can make it then I'll change the date. The Location is also open to discussion... The only reason i chose it is because It is halfway between Dundee/Fife and Glasgow without being to far away from Aberdeen. Stirling castle was my other suggestion but I'd rather not meet in a town centre and stay there. The chosen route provides nice scenery and a decent pub (and a castle if we want to continue the theme!) P.S. Those hoping for "Dundee Cake" may be given an alternative subject to availability EDIT: Please vote on a date for the meet to be held!
  9. Hey! Q/ Can anyone make groups or do you need administrative rights? :thumbleft: ---------- Post added at 12:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:05 AM ---------- Help?
  10. It seems that this little encounter went rather well! bravo to those that made it... I spent the day forlornly looking out at the grey skies wishing for the rain to stop! Everyones cars look the bees knees though and can't wait to get mine going to meet up with you all. As Jamie said, he's asked me to organize the next one so options on locations and possible dates would be welcome! I'll look into the date that best suits the most ppl so don't be shy... post your ideas up
  11. nice work mate! The rust on yours is very similar to mine in it's locations. The front cross member, radiator support panel and battery tray. Not sure about all that being caused by battery acid alone though. Maybe got going with a little spillage but I think that was just a key point on the car for rust to propagate. Wouldn't worry about the storage of parts either BTW... My car was full of bits (and still is as a matter of fact :/ ) will you be doing the head work yourself?
  12. Thanks dude but I've got another one lined up already :) should be fine. hope everyone going has a fab time :) Sent from my iPhone you lemon!
  13. I thought this set up would give the best of both worlds... but It seems I didn't fully appreciate the engineering involved which (TBH) is well beyond my experience level :( It was just an idle thought, I may well come back to it one day. But I think anything I do with my particular Corrado is going to be some how unique. The bbm twin screw I've seen many times for instance and although it proven to give great results I could go and buy a corrado with one of them in already for less than £3500 - £4000. And it would probably be in better condition than mine! Thanks for all the advice though Guys... It's certainly given me something to think about
  14. Jumping to conclusions! you admit as much look! bored indeed  i aint about entertainment it's about getting to work.. I'd say my commute to work is hardly the most thrilling thing i do every day but then I'm not sure that's ever going to change! can't fool me :smug: ---------- Post added at 07:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:45 PM ---------- I'd say that's as bad (or worse) in the winter... putting on cold wet gear in order to go to work or come back from work after the end of the day... The worst thing about Biking! you can't knock the economy though and last time i had to tax my bike it was £15! flippin bargain. But it don't stop you getting wet! (unless you get one of those stupid ones with the roofs but i reckon you'd get slated more for that than a Fiat!) Your better off with the 500.. you can't go on your weekly shop on a scooter after all. your 3 mile commute is hardly the only thing you'll be doing in it is it?
  15. you sure??? 169k and needing to replace EVERYTHING running gear wise just to get an MOT? and the paint.... Whoooo! don't get me started! The crash wasn't to bad but did damage most of the under side of the car.... ran over a kerb. Need new: 1/sump 2/power steering pump 3/chin spoiler 4/ track rods and ends Not to bad but with buying new oil and track rods I'm looking at a £100 bill just in parts. That wont happen until after i get paid on the 25th SOooo can't make it :( Will any of thee Aberdeen lot be going near Perth?? I could meet you there and get a lift? ;)
  16. Im with Kev here... your a lazy boy Jim! grab your push bike! I used to cycle 5 miles to uni every day, you get used to it
  17. Too right! I'm now swimming in Forced induction heaven :luvlove: ahh wont do that then! :bonk: still... this intrigues me... Edit: sorry for being ignorant but how do twin turbo's work then? Like a staged Twin turbo... not a parallel one obviously
  18. that makes sense... Although I was thinking of going the other way, keeping the OEM air box and taking the compressed air from the charger (via the intercooler) to the turbo... The only thing is then getting the air to the throttle body but I thought that way I could use just the ECU for the turbo and ditch the one i have... Any idea on expected performance? ---------- Post added at 03:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:21 PM ---------- found this artical that mentions a g60 + turbo... it mentions 3 ECU's! :bonk: might be a little tricky! http://jdengine.home.xs4all.nl/html/publicaties/pvw_feb09_jd/PVW0209JDbigschool.pdf
  19. been searching around and seen many g60 pg engines being used with turbo's with great success. However, I've never seen anyone keep the G60 attached AS WELL as popping a turbo on. Does anyone know of anyone who has done this? Was thinking about it and I thought as long as the engine didn't rev to high I don't see there being a problem... I imagine the boost pipes would be a bit of a squeeze to get in but I can think of a few routes they could take with a little thought... and the oil feed to the turbo may also be a problem unless they could share the OEM oil feed to the charger??? I thought the low down performance of the charger would compliment a turbo quite nicely. Or am I mad? Thoughts?
  20. you find your OWN sponge density :camp: Draw me a 27.5cm diameter cake with a fruit density of 42 p/cm3 with an average raisin size 4mm, crystallized orange at 3mm and galcé cherries at 5mm (with a standard deviation of 1mm over 50%). It should have a side wall height of 10cm and a height peak at the centre of 12.5cm Chop chop
  21. no cake joke? I would just prop it but a decent set of steels could also be used for winter tyres... Bricks tend not to be too good round the corners.
