1. Hi, just fitted a new mech to the C to fix the sunroof. I gave it a good coating of grease (the OEM stuff) and re-fitted the roof panel but now it's all in when I try to slide the roof back it really struggles to move... Like it's having to work hard to move the mech. Now I know the motor is fine and the mech is good but when I refitted the roof panel to the mech it sits quite low down (the 4 screws have a little adjustment in them) It looks flush from outside but I think the internal trim that slides with the roof is tight against the mech, making it difficult to slide. Is the roof panel supposed to sit proud of the roof?? or could there be something else stopping the roof from sliding nicely?
2. Welcome indeed NB, we'll get you in a corrado one of these days petal don't you worry! ;) --- - Sent from my iPhone you lemon!
3. You can get the existing charger ported (if it's not done already) that helps up the power. As for your seats the bulsters are not available any more but the cloth can be removed and a good auto interior place could re-trim the car easily enough... Not cheap thou! I'm sure you'll get the hand of her soon. You've come to the right place :D --- - Sent from my iPhone you lemon!
4. I use http://xiomscotland.co.uk/ for powder coating in Forfar. They also do sand blasting and are very cheap. --- - Sent from my iPhone you lemon!
5. I do remember your kind offer kip, if I ever get really stuck I will definitely be taking you up on the offer! I wouldn't like to put you out though, if I have to buy large items or lots of expensive things then I'll drop you a pm :) --- - Sent from my iPhone you lemon!
6. not much... tbh, the modification itself is not that dramatic as it only helps cool the air at part throttle. When you give it the beans you open the throttle body up all the way and all the boost is used so there is no boost return anyway. But at part throttle the mod would only help if the air it's taking in is cool and not hot... Cone filters tend to suck air in from all over the place (including the hot engine bay!) while a air box only takes in air from the cool incoming air guide behing the front grill. But in terms of extra BHP... you're not going to see a hudge difference. If your happy with the cone filters then stick with them.... I just LOVE the look at that SMG airbox!! Check out this link.... Tells you all you need to know about chargers and g60 tuning http://wiki.the-corrado.net/g60_tuning.html a nice 68mm pulley if you don't have one already would help you to see close to 180bhp :D
7. there is also a small oil return pipe but i can't think where it goes just now
8. not quite sure what your getting at tbh honest... The boost return hose isn't on your charger any-more as at some point someone has popped in a second cone filter. It would usually go from the engine to the top right hand side of the charger (where now you have a tube going from the charger to a second cone filter). The idea with a boost return is that the excess boost made during idle and part throttle is reused and popped back into the charger. Trouble is that this air can be a little warmer than fresh air so people some times just let the excess boost get lost into the engine bay and fit an extra air intake to the right hand side of the charger (or blank off the right hand side altogether). But all that is to do with the air from and too the charger... The oil is taken from the engine via this pipe it's a small bradded pressure hose.
9. If you decide to sell them let me know. I wouldn't mind them on mine :)
10. Project Rot-box?... shes alright!
11. cheers dude, just keep in mind i still want to meet up for a pint when I'm next Oxford way! I'll get you a fresh cake to weep over... That one you have must be getting ripe by now...
12. BTW, do you wat alloys they are? they look amazing
13. Nice... boost return mod looks well done too, although the cone filters aren't the best. You should consider getting one of these http://www.swgmotorsport.com/asps/ShowDetails.asp?id=172 else you'll just be taking in the warm engine air and kinda negating the benefit that the mod provides. Also, try cleaning the grey cloth first... I had amazing results from just using a carpet cleaner! Chalk and cheese! ooo and the door cards... unless the card is broken you can still buy the clips that hold them in place new from VW for about £0.30 each ;) Welcome to the forum!
14. Phone him up to correct him and point him in the direction of the forum! The clasifieds could do with some new folk browsing. I got a note on mine while it was at the garage getting fixed that had the same sort of thing but the garage had scribbled out the Sirocco and written corrado instead :)
15. http://www.themagictouch.co.uk/transfer/dct.htm http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/.Inkjet-Water-Slide-Decal-Paper_151.htm print onto paper cut out and slide on :)
16. could just drill the cowling you have... but best not go down there If you have an after market cowling and fan.
17. I dunno.. most of the stuff I've changed would need to be changed on any car at some point... It's not like I've had to take the head off or got a knackered shell. The interior is in OK nick, the gearbox is OK, got good boost from the charger, all told shes not a bad ol'girl. I couldn't bring myself to ever break her...
18. as above, your difficult bit is going to be removing the existing barrel from the handle/boot lock... once you've done that you can take your time over changing the tumblers
19. maybe... there is no TPS near me :( you'll need a few screws and things to fix it to the car too... 20. Still available from VW mate, bought one the other day :) ---------- Post added at 09:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 AM ---------- part number 535121343B £10 ish...
21. Cheeky indeed, shame you only just spotted those... they look identical :( I'm going to be removing the alternator and tensioner tonight when I get back from work (5:30ish), I also need to think about getting my new sunroof in as I noticed that my sunroof seal is falling off... But that means painting the roof, needs another coat of primer and then paint and lacquer. Loads to do! I'm expecting to have the parts Wednesday so when ever you can help would be great! :)
22. how did you get the barrels out without a key mate? I'm struggling to think.... was ages since i did it on mine!
