1. Lol! You may be right! Will that be safe enough to drive south in though?
2. I've not yet re-attached my chin spoiler to the car... How quickly can this be done? I've got all the screws and things... But if I remember correctly the reinforcement plate may be a little bent And does it need to be done or can I drive around without it?
3. Lol! Never forgotten dude.... This boy was indeed welding in the dark for me last night... Although, you're bumper falling off was not strictly my fault  but you coming back after that happened proved you're dedication to the cause! A shiny beer shall be your reward! --- - Sent from my iPhone you lemon!
4. Nah... Had more pressing matter and I'm away this weekend --- - Sent from my iPhone you lemon!
5. AVS are a great company. If you can't find stuff on their website then they can usually source it for as well... They can even get OEM stuff from VAG if your desperate! :)
6. cheers mate, If you fancy meeting up on Sunday BTW for a pint I'm going to be in swindon meeting up with vKrisv at my old Pub for pies and beer
7. WOW I'm Lost! so... a) the blue temp sensor between the 3rd and 4th spark plug? b) Don't disconnect the rad switch! c) I should really check the CO % d) 800 rpm not 1000rpm. I don't know how to measure the CO% (would the MOT centre have checked that for the MOT Test?) and there isn't anyway of me checking the timing... although she runs ok. Not lumpy or anything
8. car looks amazing mate! the wheels especially!
9. know how that feels mate... but one small question If "she who must be obeyed" was to DIRECTLY ask for you get rid of the car... would you have to obey?
10. I thought for a moment that YOU had worms!
11. Oxfords no where near kendal! Had you not better pay me in eccles cakes or Hollygog pudding?? Also what engine do you need? I've got a lawn mower you can borrow!
12. got the car back from the MOT centre and the car Idles a little high (about 1150rpm) So... I just want to double check the way of getting the idle set on the car (please correct me if i get it wrong!) Get the car warm (80 degrees) disconnect the fan switch turn the screw on the back of the throttle body until 1000rpm +/- 50 rpm is achieved. Is that it? Or does the ISV need to be disconnected too?
13. also... the bolts that go into the rear beam at the bottom of the suspension need to be taken off with care. The nuts are up in the beam itself!
14. Isn't it just! just taxed it.... Going to do some last min things tonight check oil check plugs change air filter re-fit chin spoiler make up a tool kit for car And tomorrow I drive down south! :thumbleft: Anyone in Bristol who fancies meeting up? I'll buy you a Cider!
15. She passed! MOT was this morning at 8:30am and she passed! One advisory! "Off side rear tyre close to legal limit" I'm SOOOO Happy!!!! Wah!!! I was up till 10pm last night sitting under a lamp post fiddling with ISV's and boost pipes.... but it was ALL worth it in the end!
16. they just wont last quite as long... but the Febi ones are the ones I'm using mate and they seem to track well and fit nice :)
17. gsf ones are like cheese mate... if you want cheep go with febi items available from http://www.vwspares.co.uk/ but the best ones to get are OEM. The extra force from the stiffend suspension would benefit from good quality top mounts. It may also be worth considering new wishbones and drop links if you want to do it properly... but that could be done on another day. If you do get new wishbones then go for R32 rear bushes as they track better :)
18. I recently fitted the same coil overs mate you should really fit new top mounts while your doing this. Febi stuff is quite cheep but VW OEM stuff is obviously the best. The top bolt at the front needs a Allan key and a socket (or ring spanner) to loosen. A bit of a pain but otherwise straight forward... The rear is quite simple so long as you remember not to jack the car up using the rear beam. The rearbeam needs to drop down to almost 45 degrees in order for you to remove the struts. This guide is quite useful http://forum.performancevwmag.com/viewtopic.php?t=40697
19. indeed! BTW... they just delivered the parts I need :D
20. looks like the hole in the wing has been made bigger (for some reason) so they used the washer to screw the wing on.
21. cheers! shall have to look for these fingers!
22. I didn't... the head lining isn't completely re-fitted yet but the internal panel is being pushed down against the mech.... without that panel it slides fine! That sounds like the culprit... does anyone have a picture from a Bentley manual or etka? or better yet a picture of these clips? I did notice that when I slid the internal panel in it didn't "clip" in like normal
23. Just a quick one today as I should really be working.... Had a REALLY good night working on the car yesterday. It thankfully stayed quite dry and I jumped straight onto the car after i got back from work, I also had some help from Neobadness that helped loads! :thumbleft: First off... the old tensioner and pulley was surprised how quickly I managed to get these parts off... I snapped the odd bolt but Mimjed has sent the bolts with the pulley and tensioner so I should still be OK! Next job was a little more labour intensive. By this time was 6:30pm and getting cold. Nevertheless I had a broken sunroof seal so I decide to remove the headlining and replace the mech at the same time as replacing the seal. Sorry for the lack of pics but I spent most of my time working and not sight-seeing! We had the head lining off, old mech out, new mech in and the head lining replaced by 9:15pm! SOOoooo provided I get the pulley in the post today I could have the car back together by tonight! Hooray! BTW.... if anyone has experience with replacing sunroofs then I could use some advice on here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?57753-Sunroof-struggles-to-slide&p=739956#post739956 :thumbleft:
