1. I went for black and purple to match the KW's i got. Looks good in bright light Hamerite isn't the stuff you need though mate. I'd try these folk http://www.vhtpaint.com/index.html Or.. if your never likely to cook the brakes you could try 2pak paint, you get an infinate range of colours. But tbh At some point your brakes are going to get hot regardless of how you drive.... so i'd go with the VHT stuff.
2. ahh mate that indeed sucks balls... your right though, Even if you park away on the other side of a huge car park some one will inevitably park next to you... It's the lore of Sod! I'd say though that although it looks bad it is in fact quite a "nice" place to be hit (in comparison to the rest of the car that is... It's not nice at all really!) I'd say that if you take the front bumper off you could get under that little trim piece and bend it back into shape. A good bady shop could maybe do it in a hour or so... alternatively those bits are quite cheep second hand and so small you could probably re-paint them yourself at home easily enough. Count yourself lucky they didn't hit your fog lights or something expensive!
3. clear stuff was £5 a tube... White stuff was £1.99 and I hate my puggy...
4. This is the loom with extra Enclosures that I provided kurly. He then popped the relays/fuses in them for me. So the loom doesn't come with those boxes normally. Well made though!
5. How to fix a leaking sun roof on a peugeot 106... You may have noticed the subtle use of a spatula. No auto tool kit should be without! :)
6. I really am going to have to give you a slice of Dundee Cake aren't I... just to placate your ever cake hungry comments. You know, folk in dundee don't even know that they're famous for this cake... they think they're famous for marmalade. The fools....
7. Sounds about right to be honest. I'd dreading to think what MY garage would charge me to change a belt though
8. hi mate. do you still have the centre console? what colour is it? Cheers!
9. got them made, about £70 ish with shipping and VAT. From here... http://www.autostyle.co.uk/ TBH... there OK, quite thick pile and the foam backing stops them from sliding about but The OEM ones are just better made... These ones look good though and should last a while.
10. Got some new stuff to keep my spirits up with the lack of progress on my corrado... Like?
11. great job, very professional welding!!
12. Looking fab mate, I'm glad you changed those lights, the ones you had on there before where horrid! Soooooo... wheres the turbo going? :D
13. the engine moving has less of an effect on the C's gearbox because it being hydraulic there are no rod linkages, it's all cable driven. Also, if the enigne mounts where shot the engine would "jump" up and down in the engine bay when you reved the engine... You'd soon notice that! Try adjusting the cables from the gear box or the gear stick see if that helps, the shifter tower is on the top of the gearbox as you look down into the engine bay. Also, do you know when the gear oil was last changed? It's an easy thing to do yourself in a driveway. Just need some gear oil and a 17mm spanner (i think it's 17mm anyway). Hope you get her fixed!
14. Another one i've been thinking off is the rear bumper Iron... Often gets rusty leaving a good condition plastic bumper falling off due to rusty mounting points.
15. would look quite nice if you could rip off the Seat badge... Sorry can't do photo shop...
16. It's the only thing motivating me at the moment... esspecially when i have to drive to work in my puggy 106... with it's leaking roof and wet seats :(
17. As some of you may have noticed I put the car in for an MOT on the 2nd Aug. Anywho, the story goes that because of the rain I decided to take the car down to a garage to not just MOT it but fix the rad fan and the brakes at the same time.... Glad I did in a way, It's not stopped raining over the last week! The garage have since looked over the car and come back with the following: They Can't MOT it until the following has been fixed: Rear bushes N/S ball joint brake Bias valve All rear brake lines need replacing rear flexi hoses gear box engine mount is loose (needs tightening up) even then, it's no garantee that it will pass an MOT.... :brickwall: Looks like I'm a long way off yet... I'm letting the garage do as much as they can before Friday And if they still havn't got it ready for an MOT I'm taking it to another garage. The bloke I gave it too is a nice guy but he works alone and is quite slow... Doesn't bode well for an hourly rate!
18. at least your getting it done though mate, will look great when it's finished and will see it for another 15 years too
19. lucky mate, VW garages are at the end of the day franchises... and vary quite a bit just like kwick-fits etc..
20. BTW I tried to get these the other day and was told they are obsolete :( both of them...
21. Not too far away at the end of the day... I may well give him a tinkle after I've sorted out an MOT. Get him to give the car a good once over... Give me ideas as to what I should really be doing next. Thanks!
