    Ferodo DS2500

They are good pads, but very expensive - probably the best of the "performance" ones. I ran them for about 5K, but eventually took them off and went back to standard because of noise and too much dust. They will bite earlier and fade later, but tbh, if you're not on a track you won't notice the difference.

    Clips

If it's the little round ones that move 90 degrees and always get chewed up it's 533867633 - you need six and they only come in black
  3. Now on 68,564 miles and going strong. I got both bumpers resprayed professionally and a mild polish, done by a local bodyshop - not that cheap but a professional job They do a lot of crash repairs for local VW, Audi and Merc garages. Took the bumpers off, rubbed down completely and sprayed and baked. Looks almost like a new car now. ---------- Post added at 10:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 AM ---------- Got around to doing a few jobs recently: - Replaced the fubarred antenna with a new one - new base etc sourced online from the states, all with original connectors, so plug and play. A 20 minute job, just needed to be careful removing the rear trim on the roof and the headlining. Great reception now - the old amplified base was soaked and corroded to hell. - Got around to fixing my headlight loom which had a bad earth. I rewired it with new cable and fitted OEM connectors and a sealed box for the relays and new fuse holders. I used Posi product no splice crimp connectors. Also fitted a OEM connector hacked out of an old headlight for where the original loom connects - now I just need to plug in the original socket to get it to work. Then re-wrapped everything in loom tape. Next job is to fit my lights-on buzzer - will be using a blank on the original relay panel and fitting new blades into the central electrics and splicing into the existing loom.
  4. Year round - 69K on it at the moment - two child seats in the back and shopping bags and buggy in the boot!
  5. Gamma IV Cassette Player has green illumination, turny dial knobs and CD changer control - if you want a really good CD player that looks well in an old school VAG, try a Nakamichi CD35/45 or CD300 or a Becker - but be prepared for a raid on your wallet or cc.
  6. Try a search - plenty of info. In the UK they were dealer fitted - usually Sony or Panasonic tape decks with CD changer capability. On the continent, the Gamma IV (which looks very nice).
  7. They need to be adjusted to sit level and snug - that will get rid of the wind noise and fit issues.
  8. Mine arrived last week - no customs duty asked for - looking forward to some decent reception soon.

    hand brake cover

Still available from Classic Parts and Autohaus Schlagheck in Germany
  10. Had 3 Maxi Cosis in mine. All fit no problem in the rear bench. http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ie-en/products/car-seats/baby/cabriofix.aspx http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ie-en/products/car-seats/toddler/priori-xp.aspx http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ie-en/products/car-seats/child/rodi-airprotect.aspx Never had a problem with the two (4 and 18 months) in the back at the same time! Proves the C can be a family car!
  11. Is that an OBD2 chip ? Do you have the original ECU that came with the VSR ?
  12. Classic parts have the rear dampers - all the other stuff is still available. Not cheap though, and will take some time to put together as there were a few variations in the spring combos and the plus/standard suspension
  13. 41 - had the Corrado for 3 years now - Mk2 GTI 8v before that, and a Type 85 Audi Coupe Quattro
  14. You can get the two hoses in the bay still - not cheap though - and plenty of people have uses hose they have sourced somewhere else - although the VAG items come pre-shaped. You can also still get the feed hose that runs from the filter to the engine bay.
  15. Where exactly is this earth in the engine bay ? Was going to replace my aerial but should probably have a look at this first. Pic would be great.
  16. I drive mine every day or so and fix whatever needs to be fixed and service it regularly - if I had two I might consider being even nicer to it, but one costs me enough as it is! The only thing that annoys me is the paint and some small rust spots, and these are always on my to do list. I say enjoy it while you can...
  17. I'd be interested in the crank sensor and the two door lock covers - postage to Dublin, Ireland. Thanks (let me know by PM)
  18. I can see the following for the plug - if you need the wiring you'd need to get that separately (wiring repair kit with pins on the end) and crimp it in. 1H0973204 - 4-pin 1H0959481B - 3 pin up to chassis 50 R 000 001 1H0973203 - 3 pin from chassis # 50 R 000 001 Depends on if you have 4 or 3 pins on the sender.
  19. That's just your dealer - what part# did you order - is it the plug you're looking for ?
  20. Into oil filler cap I presume ? ;)
  21. It's probably just a loose heat shield somewhere - there's lots of them under the car. Could also be the exhaust touching some other part at certain revs, or something loose ( a bit of rust, twig, stone, etc) inside one of the silencer boxes. Happens often when you drive through flood water. I reckon a mechanic who just says replace the cat without checking the readings is just being lazy.
  22. You don't need to buy a whole loom - you can buy the plug housings on their own from VAG, and then swap over the contact pins.
  23. 050103663 is the most common one - it's orange and supersedes the earlier red one. Cost me €3.00 recently. The billet ones are nice, but pricey, and be careful you don't wreck the dipstick tube when fitting the - they need to be hammered on with a mallet.
  24. Shoudn't re-use the split pin though - and those metal caps can be a pain to get off and back on.
