  1. Folks - I had two seperate payments on the 26th December for a pair of trim pieces. 1 from Asif (with no address or forum user name supplied) and one from Gareth (with no forum name mentioned, but address included) - can Asif let me know who he is and what his postal address is please, and can Gareth let me know who he is on the forum too? Thanks :)
  2. OK - will send you a PM mate. That's it.. all gone until the next batch land.
  3. OK folks I only have one pair left unspoken for. I've put in an order for 20 more pairs and these will be here early in January. Cheers.
  4. Amazingly am already down to my last 3 pairs so I best get another order placed! Thanks for your orders / support guys.

    Faulty thermostat?

I'm not concerned or anything. Was just idly curious - I'd just noticed the lower temperatures overall :) Thanks for the info folks.
  6. Hey Tan. I think the recommended (and OEM) plug for the VR6 is the NGK BKR5EKUP. I've always run these and they seem to last forever and the engine always runs nice and smooth with them. Pretty sure you can get these from ECP.

    Faulty thermostat?

Should have qualified when I said temperatures I meant oil - that's sitting about 92-94 when driving at a steady 60MPH. Water is probably sat about 75/80. Both rise of course when stationary and the fans start to come on reasonably quickly - within a couple of minutes of being stationary. Just seemed a little unusual to me as I remember my VR always remember oil sitting about the 100 mark once warmed up though I know I'm on a slightly thinner weight of oil than before currently (5w40) which may account for the slightly lower temps.
  8. Ever since getting my VR6 back I've found a couple of things. Firstly it seems to take an eternity to get up to temperature (like 20 minutes) and even when 'up to temperature', when on a cruise, oil temperature rarely ever seems to make it past about 92-94 degrees. My memory is hazy but I'm pretty sure VR's warm up pretty quickly, and that even on a low speed cruise, you hit oil temperature in the low hundreds. My feeling is my thermostat may be stuck open.. does this seem likely? I guess I can check this with a simple feel of the upper and lower pipes out of the radiator when it's next warming up..
  9. Sometimes you just happen to stumble upon a fascinating forum post, and this is one such example. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4831303-engine-code-hbh This VW Vortex thread contains more information / history about the VR6 motor than I never knew about. I did know they'd planned to make a diesel version, and I knew that they had prototyped a lower displacement 24v (the "RV6") well ahead of the eventual release of the 12v VR6 that we have in the Corrado. But I didn't know they tried multiple different variants before settling on the designs that we now know of... such as an even narrower angle in the cylinders (8 degrees!), an inline 6 cylinder, single overhead cam, TRIPLE overhead cam... Scroll down to the bottom of the link to check out the pictures. Fascinating stuff!
  10. Nope. That's long gone unfortunately. Driving it purely to just try and complete the engine 'run in' and keep the battery charged over the winter months.
  11. Impressive. Most impressive. But you are not a jedi yet.
  12. Had my first chufty in ages on the weekend. Pulled into the petrol station for the usual Shell V-Power hit, and when I came out after paying there was a younger chap stood at the back of the car looking around it. I walked up to the car and he looked up and said "Really nice car mate!" - I just sheepishly said something about her being a bit tired these days but thanks, hopped in and drove off.
  13. They should fit ok! I did several test runs with this material prior to offering them for sale. Please let me know if you run into issues though so I don't spend more money on them and can investigate what's up.
  14. Excellent news :) As part of my posting process I'm doing Proof of Posting certificates for every single one as a few did go missing in the post on the last round.. it's tedious and time consuming but hopefully we have cover if any go MIA.

    Happy Christmas

Merry christmas guys :) Thanks for all your contributions, posts, discussions, etc etc on the forum over the last 12 months. Hope you all have a great time with family / friends.
  16. Downside with the Bentley is that it was for the US market so covers left hand drive variants and US specific things which we didn't necessarily have. That said, aside from the VW technical manuals themselves, it's the only real choice so it really is invaluable for any Corrado owner.
  17. OK guys - first batch posted today to all those who've paid me so far. Thanks.
