I guess that depends. I sold mine to the first / only viewer, basically for the asking price minus £100. Mine wasn't priced very strongly admittedly.

You can get from VW (and I guess from eBay, etc) rolls of a sticky backed felt used specifically for helping stop trim rattles and the like in car interiors. Reckon that'd make for an excellent gasket between the air hose nozzles.

Whilst not actually that different from a normal VR6 in any meaningful way, the Storm is certainly regarded as one of the most desirable models and will be a good bet for future investment in terms of values so.. well worth considering.

Welcome to the forum! Height wise... well, it's basically factory suspension (which always was rather comical in height!), especially so on the really late models like the Storm. This issue can be really amplified by fitting larger aftermarket alloys too, but in this case, I think they look like 15" wheels still. But now you can probably understand why aftermarket suspension kits are so popular with these cars! :) To be honest with the way prices are going on Corrado's these days, the money seems reasonable for a low mileage Storm provided it has a comprehensive history. The original BBS 15" 'Solitude' alloys are available new from VW Classic Parts for not crazy money so would be pretty trivial to put the car back to standard as I agree those alloys don't really suit it much! You should certainly be able to get a good VR for the money you're looking to spend.

It's time consuming for sure but not that terrible. Just arm yourself with as much information as you can beforehand on the process, make sure you have plenty of space to lay out the parts you remove, bag up / label the nuts / bolts and the connectors as you disconnect stuff behind the dash. If you're methodical and have an ounce of patience, you'll do fine :)

I know this has spilled over a few threads now but I'm sure the size was confirmed in another thread.. will try and find it. Supplier put the direction arrow on but it's pretty easy to determine the direction of the valve yourself - just blow into it!! :)

Meant to come back to this and kept forgetting, but this non-return valve has indeed sorted the water 'whooshing' noises behind the dash upon ignition when the car has been sat for a couple of days. So if you've fitted aftermarket coolant pipes to your car and you didn't swap over the little non-return valve, this is a great substitute and does resolve the problem :)

Could, I suppose, also be a break in the engine wiring loom somewhere. Try giving lilfuzzer a PM.. I'd be surprised if he doesn't have a few VR6 ECU's sitting around.

Sorry if you've already tried, but worth picking up another VR6 ECU? Must be plenty of those kicking around reasonably cheap. Would help rule out a dead ECU as it can and does happen sometimes.

Agreed. Excellent results! Kinda surprised though as I thought Flash Red should have clearcoat on.. not sure I've ever seen another one fade this way before? I know Tornado Red was kinda famous for it, but not Flash. Either way, car is looking great!

I've previously used this chap for a couple of nice watches and was consistently impressed with the level of service I got: http://www.genesiswatchmaking.co.uk/ A quick look at his prices for Tag Heuer below: http://www.genesiswatchmaking.co.uk/tag-heuer-pricing.html For a battery, reseal, clean and pressure testing is £60 for non-chronograph models and £75 for chronograph models. Going a bit more hardcore, it's £225 for a full service (which would be a complete strip down of the movement, etc). I'd happily recommend him, though worth getting in touch to establish lead times as he is always busy, and you do need to post to him so need to send it fully covered with Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Might be worth considering a fixed height kit, perhaps with adjustable dampers so you can tune the firmness of the ride like the classic Koni Top Adjustables? They're not cheap but are a very good compromise between lowering the car and comfort.

It certainly is a strange time to own a Corrado. I personally wouldn't value mine at massive money BUT you look around at what's actually available, and look at what I've spent in the last couple of years on it generally and arguably I'd have to double my estimated value despite being well aware it needs bodywork, etc. Maybe it's time to consider an agreed valuation on mine.

You should be able to tell if the fuel pump is running at least.. if you put the ignition on you can normally hear the fuel pump kind of woosh / prime itself for half a second or so. Not a particularly scientific method but might give you a clue. Would probably help to have the back seats down and the boot carpet out just so you can hear it from the driver seat! Wonder what state the fuel filter is in as well - that's definitely going to want changing!

Does it actually fire (as in start) and then cut out again after a second? Or does it not start at all?
