Was it converted from a 2.0 16v to a VR6? Was just curious about the alloys which appear to be the a style which I thought were 4 stud only? Cheers. And you need a price please Nikki. Even as a guideline. Thanks.

Moved to Ice 'n' Secure.

Likewise. Would kill to have a Corrado with that engine in it.
-
Excellent :) Cheers.

I'm sure the Hi-Spec upgrade is better all round but it'll cost significantly more!
-
The advice to take the driver seat out and put a pillow in the footwell is a good one.. definitely makes the process a bit more comfortable!

I believe lilfuzzer has a set of calipers & carriers for sale at £60 currently. Worth dropping him a PM.
-
Very nice. Always wanted a Corrado with a modern engine swapped in.. bet they're great fun :)
-
Moving to Wanted forum..
-
Yeah they really do make a difference!

Hey.. assuming the deal does go through and I can secure these, I'll be taking off a set of perfectly working 288mm calipers / carriers from my Corrado. They just need refurbing as cosmetically they're a bit haggard. You can have them for free (which would save you the money on refurbing them) :) If I could get them to my friend in Trowbridge, I'm sure he'd be happy to facilitate you collecting them off him sometime.

Congrats :) Looks like a great example and Twilight Violet is a super colour.. can't wait to see the feature.
-
Are these for a VR6? Are they the original red style leads?
-
Definitely interested. Where abouts in Somerset are you? I'm down to visit a friend in Bath / Trowbridge in February. I could collect then (and pay say a 50% deposit in the mean time to secure them until then?) assuming you were willing to meet me a little closer to Trowbridge (say Glastonbury), if you're like all the way over in Taunton or something? :)

Locked.

Folks... I know there's at most only 4 or 5 of you out there! Are any of your Campaign's currently on the road or would they be in time for April? I believe Volkswagen Classic Parts themselves want one to be able to display at the Techno Classica show in Essen in Germany. Not sure of the details in terms of whether they'll put you up in a hotel, cover your travel costs or what...? But if you're interested and want to find out more, please get in touch and I'll put you in touch with the right people! Cheers.

It's almost always stuff around model years, engine types (e.g. saying the Corrado had a 2.8 VR6 rather than 2.9 - which is true for the USA, but not for Europe) and inaccuracies about 8v/16v motors, etc. Certainly it's never ground breaking stuff or massive innaccuracies, BUT I feel it could cause confusion for people who don't know about the cars and are considering buying.. and they come into researching buying one with incorrect facts.
-
Plus postage at £337.60. Then import duty...
-
Can't wait of course! We love the Corrado, and love to see it being recognised by places like Pistonheads. But I'm also hoping any technical details are right! I appreciate you guys are the motoring journalists and know more about cars than most of us could ever hope to... but virtually every article which has appeared about the Corrado in the mainstream automotive press in recent years has been factually incorrect in some way :( Any of us would be more than happy to help sanity check any areas you might be uncertain of around models / model years / special editions, etc etc which is normally where the errors occur.

Do you have any pictures mate? Been wanting to do new discs / pads and get my 288's refurbished so this would kind of save me a lot of work (and money).
-
It's really not that hard. I did it, and I'm rubbish with the spanners. It's just daunting.
-
It does depend how badly the matrix has popped. In the case of mine it was only leaking a little bit. The tell tale signs for me were a faint whiff of coolant in the cabin, the level having dropped randomly one day causing the light to come on, and then little bits of foam being fired at me when I put the heater on - the foam being the stuff that covers the various flaps within the heater box itself. The moisture within the heater box, from the leaking matrix, I think attacks / dissolves it and causes it to disintegrate. You can pull off the shelves on the passenger side, under the glove box, and this exposes the heater box. If you feel around the bottom /underside of the heater box, coolant may have began to leak out of that and you'll get it on your fingers if so.
