  1. They can do glass out and rust treatment - I believe Wendy's car had to have a portion of the sill at the front cut out and replaced - I went to see it mid way through, and the work looked completely factory to be honest.

  2. I'm about 50-60 mile from Loch Lomond mate, about 15 mile north of Stirling, but may be up for a drive if the weather is nice though lol.

Well have a think and let me know! I need to know before Saturday 12th March - am up there from Sunday 13th afternoon'ish until Wednesday 16th. Like I say, you can have it for free - just need to come get it off me.

  3. Can reccomend a body shop here in Coventry. Wendy had her VR resprayed there just and they did an excellent job, and a friend of mine has his Scirocco MK2 in for a full respray currently. Only down side is that they would probably need it for like 4-5 months as they treat these cars as background jobs, whilst they churn through the day to day insurance stuff.. but they do very good quality work.

I'll be taking my Corrado to them some day.. maybe.. :)

  4. I've got one in black... bit dusty, slightly bowed in the middle, and without straps, but you can have it for free to be honest as it's just taking up space in my garage. I'm going to be up in Scotland in a few weeks (in the Loch Lomond area for a friends wedding) if you want a little drive to come pick it up? Not sure how far away you are from there..?

  5. Have you got a price in mind for the OBD2 setup with the bog standard manifold? I've no idea on value either, but my engine is just about to come out of the car so would be an ideal time to swap to OBD2. Is the loom ready to install or does work need to be done on it?

  6. Weird. Have you spoke to Vince about it yet? Given how much you have spent with them I am sure they would want to get to the bottom of the problem. The aroma of oil is an interesting clue though.

Only logical conclusion I guess if there are no heavy external leaks is the piston rings having not sealed properly I guess?

  7. If it is the bearing shells, I guess the question is what is the underlying reason why they have become worn? I've never done them myself, but I understand it's a relatively easy job to replace them - just need to drop the sump to get access to them.

  8. Mine is same Jim. I would like it to run for 5 mins after shutoff though.....

I guess if you installed a lower temperature fan switch in the radiator, that might take care of that? Though would mean the fan was on more often which may or may not be desirable.

  9. Yep - as soon as ignition is on, the pump should be whirring. That's correct behaviour. The pump will also be running even with ignition off IF your cooling fan is running though you won't be able to hear it. You can simulate this by bridging the appropriate pins on the coolant temperature sensor connector on the radiator (which will bring the fans and the pump on) but then disconnect the fan and ensure your pump still runs when you re-bridge the connections.

The scenario I'm not sure we've been able to 100% agree on is whether the pump should run on every time after the ignition has been on, regardless of if the fan has been running or not? In my case, when the ignition is off, and the fan isn't running, the aux pump doesn't run - I'm pretty sure this is how it should be.

  10. Has anyone installed the full set of creation hoses? Just aware that often with these aftermarket kits there can be fitment issues - I know the Roose hoses were developed off an actual set of original VR hoses (I think supplied by Stonejag?) and of course bought / installed by quite a few forum members at the time so we know they're good.. don't want to get to a point of installing these to find they don't fit correctly.

Reading around on various other VW forums, they seem to be held in pretty high regard. Just a bit of an known in Corrado land it seems?

  11. Just picked up my copy this morning - nice article spanning a couple of pages, some nice pictures, and as usual nothing but a glowing review of how great the car was and still is. 4 cylinder owners will be disappointed to note that it is specifically talking about the VR6 motor that made the Corrado truely great though.

Something which all VR6 owners already know ;) (*runs for cover*).

One to add to my ever increasing pile of modern magazines raving about our much loved Corrado's!

  12. At this point I'm sure we'd happily waive the CCGB requirement just to fill the stand. We currently need two cars, possibly three!

Tickets will be provided to you free of charge for the entire duration of the show - so a setup / teardown ticket for the Friday, and show tickets for Saturday and Sunday.

For drop off, ideally in the morning on Friday as the halls fill up with other exhibitors making getting the cars in and out difficult!

State doesn't matter too much - I mean it is a car show with paying punters, but if it's of a reasonable overall standard, then that'd be great :)

The good thing about it being indoors is you can pretty much wash and detail the car in the hall as needed - so it's a great chance to give the car a damn good polish and wax ready for spring!
