Welcome to the forum. We don't get many folks joining from overseas (we're like 95% UK members here) but I always enjoy seeing Corrado's from other countries.
-
Just wondering that too! Hadn't noticed it the first time around.
Looks nice though and amazingly quick work!!
-
Price for them seems to be 60 euro + shipping which seems pretty reasonable.
-
Sure I replied on another thread about this but I rattlecanned my old wheel nut covers with a nice sort of flat black paint and they look fantastic. No real effort required. Just stood them all up on an old sheet and gave them a couple of coats, 15 minutes apart and they look superb and brand new now.
-
OK - that's been done :)
-
Heard that this was dismantled and sold as parts? :( Hope I'm wrong but perhaps someone could confirm. That's a shame if so :( Was one of the best project Corrado's in recent years, no doubt about it.
-
Yep... Will sort it out.

Have similarly heard positive things about the cheapo ISV's.. has to be worth a punt.

Should put the whole lot on fuel and not have the road taxThat's the logical way to do it and I'd have no problem with that.. but can you imagine the uproar from the people that have paid out for a new car that fits into the £0 or £30 tax bracket?
-
At least they are still flat rate and not rated on CO2 emissions ...This is a good point. Pretty sure, if we used the VR6 as an example, we'd be paying quite a lot more than we currently do. According to some car technical data site I found, the VR6 puts out 228g/km which would plop it into the £490 tax bracket. Honestly I'm happy to keep paying £230/year for the time being based on that!
All the same I have signed the petition as of course I'd love to pay less tax - but I just can't see it happening.

I thought you were being sarcastic this time......I'm still not convinced :shrug:I'm deadly serious unfortunately. As I said, my memory is abysmal. As I said previously, lost count of how many threads I've read and then been surprised to read that I contributed to them some years back - and have absolutely no recollection of the fact.
But then that probably explains my post count... quantity over quality!!
-
Man that's embarrassing :)
-
Do you know if he can do remaps on the day as well or if it's solely rolling road day? Could do with getting mine done so would be nice to kill 2 birds with 1 stoneNo chance unfortunately. It's one car on, get the power runs done, and back off again and next car. There's very little time for anything else unfortunately.
-
God knows what the situation with my VR will be by then, but if nothing else I'd hope to come along and spectate again :)
-
I have an appalling memory mate! I read old threads with interest like its the first time I have seen them, then see I actually replied to them. If I am like this at 35 I dread to think what I will be like in 20-30 years time..

You the guy that posted on Vortex? :)
Can't answer your technical query but happy to help get parts shipped to you in the USA.
-
Price seems good and they look they've been nicely finished too.
-
Yikes - I've never heard of that happening before on a Corrado! :(
-
Great. My question was genuine to find out if there were new products in the pipeline, as I'm always excited when I hear folks such as yourselves are developing aftermarket solutions to help keep these wonderful cars on the roads - especially as VW are so steadily trying to cut off the parts supply!! I think I speak for many of us when I say that, whilst they might be more bespoke solutions for a limited number of potential customers, it's really appreciated! That and building such a flagship car which will get more interest in the Corrado generally.
Sadly nothing I'm looking for at the moment - my car is in bits with a poorly engine so will be some time before it's back on the road. I will of course always bear you guys in mind for parts, as you've outlasted a lot of others who've been and gone, and the one time I did deal with you I was extremely impressed at the level of service I received (you supplied a Miltek downpipe for my MK4 Golf GT TDI quite some years back!) :)
-
One question John. Is this project really just a pet project for yourself / JMR or have you done it to develop some new solutions for aftermarket parts for the Corrado? What I mean by that is will you be selling a new range of products off the back of this work (and if so, what kind of stuff?) or has it just been done really for fun? :)
-
What an exceptional piece of engineering, John. Really hope to have the chance to see this incredible machine in the metal at some point. Seriously awesome work.
-
Apparently you can fit one from a Golf V5 - drop in replacement if that's of any interest.
-
Actually nvm - sorry to waste your time but found a chap in Holland who does reproduction Scirocco MK2 kits that look really good so will give him a try first. If that falls through will give you a shout?
-
Yeah - they will. My aux pump had been failing for a while honest. I don't think it massively impacts temperatures.. but with it out of the system, it must accelerate wear, with hot coolant remaining in certain places in the block?

Continental / Contitech are an OE belt certainly for auxiliary belts so would be surprised if they aren't for cam belts too.
