    ddi clocks

    I've give you £20 for them :) (if they fit a 1.8 16v)
  2. Its been a long time since I have updated you all, sorry!!! I do all my updates on my local forum, so forget to copy it over to here... So it went in for its first MOT a few months ago and the rear brake caliper was leaking... so they abandoned the test.. :( Turns out the lil nipple screw was bust.. I didn't know this before I bought new calipers... anyway, i just took the callipers back and replaced the screw. The original MOT had already done a few things, which i was able to repair (free MOT bassically, as it couldn't complete) The biggest thing on the list was corrosion on the SILL... I had a hunt around, and with an angle grinder started to take away the filler (sooo much filler)... Here is what happened :) :( ---------- Post added at 09:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 AM ---------- Went in for another MOT: MOT FAIL SHEET: Nearside Rear wheel bearing has excessive play Offside Rear wheel bearing has excessive play Nearside Front tyre not fitted in accordance with sidewall instructions Offside Front tyre not fitted in accordance with sidewall instructions Nearside rear (inner edge) Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm Exhaust has major a major leak of exhaust gases Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content excessive Offside front brake hose twisted Nearside front brake pipe excessively corroded Offside (Outer sill) Sealt belt anchorage prescribed area is inadequately repaired. Advisories: Rear Registration plat deterioated Offisde front brake pipe slightly corroded Parking brake only just the required efficiency Passenger door handle loose Oil leak One exhuast rubber mounting split One bolt loose on n/s/f bottom ball joint NON-CATALYST EQUIPPED VEHICLE (METERED CHECK) Description: Limits Actual Value CO 3.50% 6.15% FAIL HC 1200ppm 715ppm PASS Idle Speed --- --- PASS Smoke Level --- --- PASS ---------- Post added at 09:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:26 AM ---------- The seat belt anchoring point has been repaired, luckily it was just a weld that had come off, so the guy welded that back on for £30 The car is in NOW getting the following done: Nearside Rear wheel bearing has excessive play Offside Rear wheel bearing has excessive play Nearside rear (inner edge) Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm Exhaust has major a major leak of exhaust gases Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content excessive Nearside front brake pipe excessively corroded So new brake pipe, sort the exhaust, replace a tyre (with one I have in the boot of the car) and sort the rear wheel bearings... I fixed the following: Nearside Front tyre not fitted in accordance with sidewall instructions Offside Front tyre not fitted in accordance with sidewall instructions Offside front brake hose twisted The garage did a great work, sorted out a crap exhaust and filled it up (need a new one really) and the MOT tester let it through with the sill bodged as it was. I will replace them both this year... It then passed its MOT :) ---------- Post added at 09:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:28 AM ---------- MOT Pass sheet: CO Limit: 3.50% Actual Value: 3.48% PHEW!!! Only just passed! LOL!!!! ---------- Post added at 09:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:29 AM ---------- OK so an update... I was at a loss as to the juddering, it didn't do it all the time, but did quite a lot.. It felt like it wasn't getting fuel, but it was... It was horrible to drive... I was starting to not enjoy the raddo! First thing first, a service: New plugs / dizzy / rotar arm.. Still the same New leads - Still the same... I took out the original immobiliser (it didn't work anyway) and reconnected the wires up... still no difference. As the new car had an ABF, I could now Vag-Com it.. I stole the Vag-com connector from the Polo and wired it in... No signal from Vag-Com.. That means 1 of 2 things, I knew it was wired correctly, and my software /cable worked.. so either the ECU was dead.. Or the Ecu had no power... Following the wires back I noticed the earth from the ECU wasn't on a tight screw and I could see it spark!!! I put a proper connector on it, and earthed it.. Fired first time and hasn't had any problems since, hasn't missed a beat (someone touch some wood)!!! ) MOD LIST: 2.0 16v ABF Tornado Red Corrado Gearbox - AYK from a Corrado PiperCross Air Filter Tinted Front Lights Tinter Read Lights HID's Left to do: Tiny oil leak from somewhere:- I think somewhere round the oil filter... New Blue Temp sensor and thermostat (as it doesn't get up to temp for agggggges) ---------- Post added at 09:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:32 AM ---------- So you all clean the outside of your car, but what about the underneath.. :) Nice bit of dark rain shot ;)
  3. I would like a couple also please :)
  4. Its all in the detail :) Let me know what you think everyone else. If something is slow, drop me a PM and I can see why its slow :)
  5. Cheers Andi I am making minor adjustments during afternoons (site isn't used as much then) to speed things up. Here is a list of things I have done, if anyone is interested: 1. mySQL slave replication to another server. So as you post a message, it updates 2 databases. If the main server goes offline, we switch to the backup and all's good. Also we can now backup from the slave server... This means it wont be slow should anyone want to browse the forum when backups are happening :) 2. Convert some tables to Innodb - This should speed up the forum a lot as the posts table is MyISAM meaning when someone is selecting a page, and someone is updting, you have to wait until the other person fininshes. This shouldn't happen anymore and should be INSTANT!! 3. General mySQL tuning like using its caching. Any comments / suggestions welcome (tell Andi, he's the boss). Cheers
  6. Dark (maybe black) Vr6 A14 8.45am I was in my Red Raddo this morning on the A14 towards Cambridge and drove alongside a nice Vr, bodywork looked imaculate... Lovely car, I said hello BTW, if you smoke with your window open it looks like the raddo is on fire.. I thought it was!! lol

    need engine

I have a 1.8 16v KR engine, the bottom end shells have gone, but the rest is all ok! Would this be any good to you?
  9. Hi Rod, What is the condition of the passenger door? The electric window on the passenger side is a bit bust, so it the door is cheap and all that side works, it would be an easy switch over :) Also bonet in good condition?
  10. I don't think the sender is TOO hard, From what I've read (not done it myself) its ontop of the fuel tank (which is under the lining in the boot). I'm sure someone with more knowlegde will be along to help you further. I recently got my raddo back on the road after the bottom end went after it lost all its oil.... It now has 2.0 16v ABF engine, and I love every minute of it!! :)
  11. I only heard about this, this morning, and our household have 2 cars, and watch TV, so I'm with the OP on this one... I did have a corrado, looked away in a garage that was not tax'ed, MOT, or insured, I then MOT'ed it recently, and gave it 6 months tax, I was going to use it occasionally, but as I HAVE to insure it full time (even though I only wanted to insure it when i used it) I now drive it everywhere.. so a small WIN, but never the less, a ballache!
  12. You may just need to bleed your clutch fluid... I know I had this problem, the clutch and brake fluid are all the "same".. I had the same problem and it turned out to be this... If the fluid is not gone, it may also be the lil bit that the clutch pipe goes onto (ontop of the gearbox)... Hope that helps! :)
  13. Glad to see its back, If you need a donated server, HOLLA :) I would think that an Rsync to another server and then a low TTL on DNS would be fine, then when you are doing maintenance switch over to the other server.... If it all goes wrong, you have time to fix it and no one see's downtime! :)
  14. Hello mate, I need the Vag-COm port if you still have it, with plug, not cut off...Please let me know how much
  15. The Alternator on the ABF is different to the one on the 1.8 16v (I know I have done the conversion). The 1.8 16v one is on like a bracket that slides up and down whereas the ABF one doesn't have this bracket and you "swing" it on a bolt... I hope I have explained myself correctly.. I have the one that is on a Swingy thing. from a 1.8 16v KR engine (out of my raddo)
  16. Anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking maybe the fuel pump? But I would have thought it would have problems at low and high RPM too, seems to only be in the middle....
  17. Hey everyone, So I've completed my ABF conversion which I'm dead chuffed about.. and had a few issues, that I have solved, but one is still lurking! Once the car was running, it idled badly, and juddered SLIGHTLY between 3/4k RPM. This was due to the no. 30 Relay no being in the fuse box (don't need these for a KR). Even since I added that relay, the car was fine... Then sudenly a few days ago it seems to stutter a LOT worse than when I didn't have the relay in... When it does I keep my foot at the same position on the accelerator and then after a few judders it gives me back the power.. it feels like its starving itself from petrol... No problems starting it or anything like that... I thought it might be a short somewhere? Any other ideas would be really helpful.. oh and yesterday out of nowhere it stopped doing it... it was back to normal, so i really don't understand.....
  18. Hello all, I have completed my ABF conversion and I have one problem left... I have the loom for the fan and switch which plugs in to the fan and the temp sensor in the rad and then ends with a 3 pin plug.. Does anyone know where this is meant to plug into, either that or what its supposed to have.. Any help appreciated! By the looks of it it should come off the headlight loom? Could someone look at where your fan plugs into and let me know :) Cheers!!
  19. I will come too :D Its pretty close to me (Corby) :) Be my first meet in the raddo with its ABF :) ---------- Post added at 09:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:54 AM ---------- Scrap that.. I'm away :( I'll keep an eye out though :)
  20. Its up for a MOT this saturday at 12.30 :) It was up for one last weekend, but a wheel bolt and a coolant leak prevented me from getting there!! The wheel nearly fell off
  21. This happened to me as the car was burning oil.. I then smashed on my bottom end and have just fininshed building an ABF into the car.. Just be 100% certain you don't have low oil pressure.. a garage should be able to do a pressure check if you don't have the tool to do it.. Don't find out have low oil pressure when its too late ;)
  22. Finally, it has Fuel!!! and the cross member and front bumper are on :) The broken part: So i haven't attached the exuast properly, just wanted to see if the car turned over... Click pics below to watch the VIIIDDEEEOOOSSS :)
