well you've definitely got a water leak, it doesn't mean its a head gasket as above, although it can be an indicator. whilst we're having these cool mornings you could start the car early and check for steam around the radiator and water pipework. expecting the worse would be a heater matrix as thats a dash out job, is it getting misty inside...have you checked the footwell carpets are both dry?

i spent many school holidays in a cleaning bay removing this stuff from vw's with a steam cleaner, back in the day all new VAG's were supplied covered in the stuff, it was thinner on the bodywork but still there, we never removed it from anywhere where it wasn't outwardly visible. we used a big ass steam cleaner, and i mean real big that was an effort to push around, it was a petrol powered cleaner that pumped a mixture of piping hot water with a detergent additive. the force was such that the jet basically peeled the wax back, took some effort to operate. maybe a modern steam cleaner could peel it in a similar fashion, but not your b&q/ halford karcher jobs.

ah man, just wrapped it all up again, will get you a pic of the rear when i unwrap to ogle it again! yep, well spotted no washer jet holes, basically I intend to fit different washers jets on the underside of the windscreen end , i think they're mk4 golf ones people use.

been flat out with DIY so attention firmly elsewhere, but decided to treat myself to one of the lewis carbon bonnets which got unpacked today - well pleased, and genuinely shocked and how light it is, hoping its going to make the vr feel much less nose heavy :) car hasn't been started since December, but I've a bit of a hunger back to get it on the road again - roll on spring.

Emission regs won't allow you to put kjet on the 9a. One guy can remap them as above, no idea how to get hold of him or if he still does it...

Warm up regulator. They're specific to the kr I'm afraid, isn't one on the 9a. Are dg auto tech still doing the 'remaps' for the 9a?

The replacement one i was going to order is from Merlin Motorsport vdo part number v360 023 but some confusion as it may actually be 306 081 030 009, they're about 40 to 50 pound. I've always assumed these gauges read resistivity, so even if wired incorrectly with the correct rated sender the dash light shouldn't flash, and looks like you have the correct rated sender, so it's a bit of a mystery.

Have you the correct rated sender, I didn't and had the dash low pressure light too? An infinity reading suggests it's disconnected.
