  1. Rustoleum do some serious paints that cover all sorts of snots and corrosion, their combi colour range spreads to a very good finish too. Beats the likes of Hammerite hands down.
  2. great job on the rear beam, from experience its not an easy job to do using axle stands on the drive way, are you going to do the bushes whilst its off? my exhaust shields cleaned up pretty good, and rather than buy new i just used a larger new versions of the press on clips to secure them better.
  3. that sub is tidy looking, what make is it?
  4. if when you take that manifold off and its been gas flowed and port matched, then i reckon its one i sold years ago :)
  5. bugger. my second 16v got wrote off about 8 years ago for the same type of damage, as Kev says above, uneconmic repair/ write off is a possibility.
  6. its a couple of years ago but i definitely had resistance and didn't want to force it, swear blind there's something that prevents its removal either within the chain cover/ or head. similar problem/ thread here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=31881
  7. have you taken the cam cover off, from memory you need to as the distributor drive shaft has a shoulder on it.
  8. I've noticed this, just started recently, images have to be clicked to open and don't simply display full size.
  9. not a massive fan of white cars generally, but have to say that looks great, polished wheels and a dash of colour from the lights really set it off.
  10. you need a valve spring compressor with longish reach, shortish ones won't achieve access. also long nose pliers for pulling stem seals off/ apart. magnetic screwdrivers also handy for attracting/ removing the collets. you should be able to strip everything, but i'd suggest valve guides are removed by an engine shop. seats can be reground by hand if you have the patience for it... if i was you remove caps, cams, valve train and stem seals, bag and label it all accurately. get an engine shop to remove/ reinstall guides, reseat valves, skim and clean up. you then rebuild valve train back up using new stem seals and tappets, check and clean eveything else. its not rocket science, just get stuck in.
  11. looking stealthy lad, all your own work too, nice one.
  12. i'll take the smoked sides please pending a pic. paypal ok?
  13. As a guide I got my head skimmed, dipped, new guides (which i supplied) and seats reground for about £200 by a reputable engine builder over here.
  14. They're almost impossible to remove without bending, and then impossible to bend back 100% straight. I've tried and ended buying new!
  15. Great skills with the fabrication and welding there!! I wish I'd had access to pics like that when fixing my fuel filler.
  16. I cut grooves in mine so I could do it with a fingernail in future, a right pita to get at! Good result gsf.
  17. Well done, that's some list of work, get a members thread started to record progress.

    my wheels

Perfect fit, it's not as stiff as original of course so you have to push the two catches home rather than self weight doing job for you, sprayer holes aren't cut, but intend to mount them underneath. The only item that doesn't transfer over is the rubber seal that runs along the front lip of the bonnet, could be glued I suppose. I'm very happy with finish, if I was being picky I could find very minor issues, but if getting painted those issues would disappear anyway.

    my wheels

got 12 months MOT again yesterday, only advisory was a number plate light which was overlooked at pre check  dragged myself out of bed early this (absolutely gorgeous) morning to fit the carbon bonnet, absolute doddle to fit, managed it fine on my own too. sunlight pronounces the weave, its a lot subtler in normal light, going to keep it like it is and then decide whether to paint or not. not driven it yet, so looking forward to seeing if i notice a difference nose lightness wise.
  22. id say you have a better chance ringing scrappy's.
  23. feel your pain, fwiw i didn't even know my sigma car alarm had an immobiliser function until i reset the alarm, not the usual start/ run/ die you tend to read about.
  24. Looks like a good purchase, kreg same as mine too. Look forward to seeing it develop.
