  1. Red H***BHS, probably valver parked up outside a house near the Loch Leven on the B9097, near the junction with the B966. The back end was up as though it's having some work done.
  2. Spoiler Sticking now Weekend work...
  3. Thanks - maybe should have done a bigger search first D
  4. Seems reasonable to me. maybe we have the two custom spoilers
  5. I know having the spoiler sitting up is one of the cool things on the C, however I quite often will drop it down after being on an above 55mph stretch of road and am now on a sub 55mph bit of road. 2 reasons, if it's sticking up 'someone' might think you've been speeding and it improves visibility out the back window, which I like to have when in more congested traffic. OK, sometimes when I lower the spoiler it doesn't go down all the way, but will stop about half way down. If I release the button and then press it again to lower it, it will then drop the whole way. This happens if I'm going above 50 but below 55. Is this meant to happen or is it actually getting stuck? Cheers D
  6. White C on the A737 near Johnstone travelling east towards Glasgow about 1.30 today. Might have been Wullie - didn't get a proper look. I was Corradoing in the opposite direction
  7. Excellent - so now we need a Corrado Ecosse type meet
  8. Made enough space to park it in the garage. Sorry phone photo in poor light
  9. I moved from Admiral to Privilege this year Multi car to multi car and carried both no-claims over - Touran and C - and the C was created as per the phone call above. Look at the paperwork you get from Admiral at renewal, it includes proof of no claims and you'll get separate documents for each car. My Privilege ins is £456 for the Touran and C, I'm 48 with full no claims on both, in Glasgow. One thing worth doing is using the job checker on moneysavingexpert.com. You put in your job description and it gives other similar job titles and ranks them as an ins company would. Find the cheapest you feel comfortable with. Also when you find a good quote, try it a few different ways i.e. who is the main driver - you or your wife.
  10. Hi Just wondering if there is a Corrado register. I see there is a Facebook page for Storms Is a register something that people would be interested in? I guess some would Is it something that has been tried before? Could it be something that people can input there details into with the results viewable to all? Obviously, it will need some details to be meaningful, so do people have views on what would be acceptable or not e.g Acceptable - Model, Colour, Year, Registration number, Mileage Questionable - VIN, Location Jusat wondering Probably a can of worms D
  11. Sorry, I'd mis-read this thread. Thought he was inside it...
  12. I've been keeping a similar log based on cars for sale. Ultimately I'm looking for another to build an R32 and or a diesel, and am watching prices. If you want I can send you my 'register' - only about 30 cars - to see if it fills any gaps for you. PM me if you're interested. D
  13. I was using a free Beta version that stopped working a few months ago. Are you all using paid versions or are you using free versions of Tapatalk. I'm on a Blackberry D
  14. Is there an official Storm or Corrado register? Going back to the original question - is the Storm edition worth the extra premium? - probably Yes. But I only say that because clearly people are prepared to pay more for them. The question you have to ask is - are you prepared to pay the premium and if so why do you want a Storm so much that you are prepared to pay it? It's possible to have a Classic green which matches the spec without being a Storm, but not a Mystic since the colour was unique When I was looking I narrowed it down to VR6 Blue/Burgundy/Sherry/Blackberry colours, Black leather, good history, good condition (paint and rust etc), electrics working, near unmolested, but good upgrades OK. As it was I ended up with a Moonlight Blue, black leather, unmolested. I wanted something that I could use straight away and that I could use regularly. It's my daily. If you want to modify your C, you may even end up painting it so could have Mystic blue or whatever, does it matter where you start? My impression just now is that Cs are slow to sell unless priced really low. A lot of adverts are showing prices reduced. The fastest I've noticed one sell was one in Stirling that sold on PH in a matter of days, it was a 96N VR6 cloth, looked good in the pics for just £1200. I would reckon if you have a good look at a few - as everyone else is saying - work out a spec you like, and sit and wait a bit, you'll get a good one come along which need not be too expensive. I wouldn't put headlamp washers on your list, as I've only ever seen 2 cars with them and you might end up waiting a long time. I wonder if the first mention about them on the thread was actually meaning heated windscreen washers.
  15. Count me in. Anyone fancy an evening meet since the evenings are longer? Loch Lomond, Falkirk Wheel? I see there's a new owner in Falkirk. Ran the C all winter - no bother.
  16. Neither come up very often for sale. TBH I would expect that how easy it is to sell depends on how well the conversion has been done. Although I expect that running costs would be in the back of a buyer's mind - insurance etc.
  17. 2 things Sunroof and Headlining Sunroof didn't want to open. Could see that the motor was attempting to turn - because I had taken the cover off to do part 2 here. So I manually opened and closed and tilted the roof, then tried the switches again and it worked. But it was slow on the sliding closed. Tilt was OK. Any ideas why it might have stuck or be slow/juddery on the closing direction? Fixed the headlining. The fabric was coming away from the backing around the sunvisors so was saggy. I opened the sunroof removed the strip round the sunroof opening. pulled the fabric away from the backing where it hadn't already fallen off. Behind the fabric was an Irn Bru coloured sticky mess. On the passenger side I cleaned this off as best as I could. Then sprayed the hard backing with 3M Art spraymount stuff. Gave it half a minute then put the fabric back. This seems to be holding. On the driver side I didn't bother trying to clean the Irn Bru stuff off. It was really sticky and difficult to remove on the passenger side so I didn't disturb the driver side at all. This side looks OK too. Will let you know if this holds and if there is any difference passenger vs driver side.
  18. Cheers Thanks for that. I think I'll give this a whirl on one of the wheels next weekend. If it comes out OK, then I'll go for the others. D
  19. Just checked some of my old threads and realised that about a year ago I started refurbing these wheels and have stalled out big time. Got the urge and a bit of time to get on with it now and was wondering about how to proceed. Have read a few threads saying nitromors and paint them. A lot of folk are saying DIY is fine if you can be bothered wioth the effort of all the flatting between coats of paint. I get that for something like a Speedline as they have larger flat areas that will show up imperfections quite easily. But just wondering about 1. Applying nitromors 2. cleaning up and filling dents etc 3. applying undercoat 4. flatting outer surface but not the sides of the spokes 5. repeating 3 and 4 a few times 6 then as 3 and 4 but final colour paint. Has any one tried this on RS771s? Anyone got pics? Alternative might be to get them done professionally. ATM the wheels don't really owe me much as I was able to use the tyres that came with them on the Touran, money saved on Touran Tyres is about the cost of the wheels and tyres in the first place. Any thoughts and pics would be helpful Thanks D
  20. You and you're good lady get a mention and pics
  21. Certainly got me ripping the wrapper off to have a read.
  22. This was on at £2795 now on at £2295 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201151436648735/sort/priceasc/usedcars/model/corrado/make/volkswagen/page/2/postcode/g613lg/quicksearch/true/radius/1500?logcode=p
  23. 222659 miles at 8.3mpg would be £160977.63 at £1.32/l the 41.1 on my avatar was achieved in 40mph 15 mile average speed camera set of road works, after warming the car up, filling with fuel and resetting everything. 30-35 is reasonable fro a VR6 on the motorway, but around town don't surprised at 15-20. To be honest given what folk are saying here there is not too much difference between the engines as far as mpg's concerned. Just get the best you can and enjoy. If the fuel con worries you, switch off at traffic lights and drive sedately when you can't hurry - then enjoy the rest of the time.
  24. Looks interesting and probably a reasonable price. How does your TDi insurance compare with your VR6 insurance?
