  1. Gutting mate. Something I'm sure we all dread happening. On the plus side, at least you got out all alright. Any idea of the cause?
  2. If you can post, as per my previous post I'm interested in b pillars, parcel shelf, and a set of supports, and clips etc too. Can you give me a price if your willing to post please mate. Cheers!
  3. As above, the 288s are easily identified by a triangular cut out on the caliper, where as the 280s like yours have an oval cut out. Seems the previous owner was telling porkies or was also fed a line mate.
  4. Get it on the deck and check Rob. Quite often they die after an air lock or starvation. Very temperamental little buggers!
  5. How does the classic car show at the NEC fair for newer water cooled VW stuff? I'm sure the auto jumble is a pretty large one, but assume it's for older marques?
  6. Sorry to hear that but it's commendable what your doing. Most would take the hit, scrap or part out the car, and move on. Look forward to the progress and some pictures!
  7. Theyre not quite as good at filtering as a standard paper, but still good enough provided they are cleaned properly - which isn't anywhere near as much as 50k! If you do get one, clean it as often as you'd change a paper filter, I'd say 2 years or 20k max. Try to get the oil-less one as well which most new k&N's are, as the oiled ones are known to kill MAFs.
  8. Congratulations Chris, well deserved! :thumbleft:
  9. Ok thanks, I'll pass on these though. Cheers bud!
  10. Are the wishbone bushes New and are they genuine?
  11. New series starts in 10 minutes on Discovery! Still not been able to find a list of cars being done though.
  12. Coming on slowly mate. Only really have a couple of pics of 1 area to update. There's no rush though and they've done it well, so I'd rather that than them rush it. I'll update over the next couple of days though.
  13. Nice one Rob, look forward to seeing some pics with everything fitted! :thumbleft:
  14. The red 16v badges are 2 a penny so don't command much. It's the red VR6 badges that fetch high prices as I think they were only on single year models, though I may be wrong.
  15. Have to agree with that Jim. Not my scene with youngsters doing burnouts in the car park whilst competing against who can play random electronic noise the loudest through their "system". On another note, how is a Vauxhall Omega a Classic, regardless of its livery?............
  16. Tell me about it, I added up receipts of what I've spent on mine this year yesterday. That coupled with the good used parts I've bought in the same time could have afforded me this! :pukeright::mad2:
  17. Fingers crossed for you mate. :thumbleft:
  18. Where did you order the wishbones from Rob? It's something I was wondering whether to get a set refurbished, or just get aftermarket ones but unsure of quality is all.
  19. May as well do the wishbones too Rob. And the ARB, and splash shields, and subframe, and.................... the list goes on.
  20. Mine has been uber slow to load each page, and strange formatting of the home screen. I thought it was my tablet playing silly buggers and having slow internet access though.......
  21. That's fair enough mate. Mine look in reasonable knick, although I think a media blast would be required. The clamp and retaining bolt at the rear look terrible though so I'm dreading trying to get that off.
  22. Good going Rob. I'll be picking up a rear beam and some front axle parts tomorrow hopefully, ready to get on that case over the winter. Always one step ahead of me though aren't you! :thumbleft:
  23. VR6Gar Jim. Nightmare mate, perseverance is key! Easier said than done I know......
