Got some info on heat valve thing.... by-passing with pics!
colinstubbs replied to Mancorr's topic in Engine Bay
if it's cold it shouldn't be a prob, just whip the cap off if you're worried. If the system is hot let it cool or you'll get it boiling out of the filler when you undo the cap! -
167oddK, needs tappets sorting and there a funny rattling/rumble when cold on start. Not bad for a '90 valver though.
-
bead of clear sealant should sort it, still haven't done mine in 18 months though :(

Is your Corrado your "best" car, or your runabout?
colinstubbs replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
What Critical_Mass, said. Wish I could garage it, maybe one day........ -

colinstubbs replied to CorradoDriver's topic in General Car Chat
Some little scrots who probably should have been at school yelled, 'Oi! You in the green car. It looks like snot' Little Cnuts! Hopefully they'll die in their brothers Nova -
The scraping will be the contact ring/contacts a bit dirty.

Component Speakers Query and Suggestions
colinstubbs replied to stevie_f_2004's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Sounds like these'll fit okay Click me! -
Not really  IIRC there's a temp sensing flap valve inside the airbox that will only open it if it gets cold enough to need the pre-warmed air. I've left mine on.

Has the door dropped!

Stan 24v, are you sure you've connected yours correctly? 'Fogs on' should turn off the main beam not the dipped, unless your loom was just for the main beam? Some of the looms out there don't do both dipped and main.
-
The one on the front is the fan over-run sensor, turns the fan on and off after the engine is off. If you earth the wire on the block etc the fan runs. There's a number stamped on it I think mine was around £20-25!

Bought my loom from Venom 8 years ago, and the only probs I've had are a double dipped bulb failure after 3months (they were just old) and one blown fuse (hey it happens!!!) No corrosion and no overheating. Only maintenance has been a touch of WD40 every couple of years. My C's previous owner had 100w spot bulbs in and it had scorched the reflectors. :bad-words: I changed the headlamps, then went 30%,and then 50% Xenon bulbs and finally the loom. The loom made the biggest difference as you get the spots and the main beam element of the H4 bulbs too. Get a good one and you'll not regret it. 8)

thought as much!

k&n don't do a 57i kit for the valver (cos of the fuel gubbins on the airbox), you can use washable panel filters around £40 and then there is the STROEVE Motorsport 16V INDUCTION KIT , £130ish though!!!!!
-
Yeah, there defo no mention of a seal. It's alright Blue_Joe, you're not going mad!! Would that FPR fit a 1.8 valver or are they totally different??

Auto Electrician, anyone know one local to Kent/South London
colinstubbs replied to pkripper's topic in Suppliers Forum
There's South Eastern Auto Electrical Services, in Tovil near Maidstone, Kent. Are you after a place to buy stuff/get stuff fixed at or someone to call out? They're on 01622 690004 by the way. Enjoy! -
Yeah we really let the side down with our Valvers!! I got the plots here (hopefully- first time for everything!)

How many forum members plan on NEVER selling their Corrado?
colinstubbs replied to godskitchen's topic in General Car Chat
No intention of selling mine, had 8 years of fun and can't see affording anything that drives as well. Sooner save my money and let it evolve as and when occasion and/or funds allow. It's my daily driver and I can't see us getting a third car!!(wife has a 2001 corsa nasty plastic thing!) -
On the last Surrey rolling road bash my 1.8 16v only developed 133.1 BHPand I was told that it was over fuelling high up the rev range. What would cause this? Faulty fuel pressure regulator? My only mods are washable filter, drilled airbox, Milltek exhaust and I've got a weber fire breather TB fitted. This is s'posed to be good for another 15-20 BHP but will tend to lean out the valver as i understand it, so what the hell's happened there then?? Any thoughts gladly appreciated!!

I think you may be able to delete the side repeaters if the front ones can be seen from the side, that's always been my understanding anyhow, or if you fit door mirror ones a la Mercs etc.
