veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted July 11, 2005 yo peeps so here is my corrado..i have been a HUGE fan of them since i was 15( first car i really liked) now that i am 18 now, i own one YAY! ok ok...it is my first car and i know some of you will be shocked, BUT IM AN ENTHUSIAST OF THESE CARS :!: lol, insurance is very hard (but do i care?) i know the previous owner has spent loads of money brining her back up to scratch. it is a 1.8 16v, de-cat version with app 110k miles on it its hit 140 still pulling a bit(not me driving!) but i aint gonna do that anyway some extra work needs to be done to her to make it complete these pics dont do justice for it, so when i get some better ones ill post em 8)

chrishill 0 Posted July 11, 2005 140's a good speed from a valver! must've been very well looked after, nice one! Wish I could've afforded a C at 18, could only just manage the insurance at 24! how much is it costing you out of interest?
Walesy 0 Posted July 11, 2005 its a prime example of a 'c' that should be returned to standard spec (( or as near as )) in my opinion.....it would get ALOT of attension at shows if it was.

Yandards 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Nice clean looking early example, like Henny says if you put it back to 'as was' when it was a press demonstrator it's bound to get a lot of attention.
DEL VR6 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Welcome to the forum and Corrado ownership mate. I wish i had a Corrado when i was 18. At that time you could go into a dealers and sit in one! And thats about as close as i got back then! (I guess I dont care now cos i have the car of my dreams and thats what matters more!) Admire your determination too, to pay that much insurance. You can try and bring it down by opting for a slightly higher excess. Nice lookin motor mate. Are you gonna bring it to Edition 38?
Stormin Dave 0 Posted July 12, 2005 That's a hell of a payout eache year mate. Good on ya...! Tidy 16V, by crikey, don't have a bump. 8)
Jim 1 Posted July 12, 2005 Holy cow - that is some major insurance. And I thought I was paying through the teeth when I got my first Corrado @ 21 years old! The Corrado is a fun car honestly, but I promise you will look back in a few years time and regret spending that much on in insurance!
Storm Warning 0 Posted July 12, 2005 That price will drop like a brick. Once I was staring a a £2k bill for C VR6 insurance at 21!, @ 27 I pay £375 :-) As a rule of thumb if an insurance company quotes you over £2k they are trying not to take your business and want you to go else where. Make sure you join the Corrado Club, then tell your insurance company at renewal (should give you 5% for car club membership as you are seen as a enthusiast and less likely to drive like a Twonk) Also try for limited mileage if your not doing 12,000 PA. Being insured on other cars (family's) is also ace.. class it as "regular access to other cars". Make sure you try Adrian Flux and um...dam forgotten the name of that Corrado specialist insurer...anyone? Anyway, enough of the insurance babble... Your C is looking sweet, I am really lovin the smoked lights against the red. paint work.
veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted July 12, 2005 thnx 4 the comments guyz!!! ^^Storm Warning" TWONK" yea i do believe i can get the insurance lower than this, even if that £100 cheaper ill be very happy with it 1 quick question, the car had some alloys stolen off it around 3 years ago now when my mate owned it, now ive never seen these typer of wheels before and i cant find a pic of them anywhere, the closest to them i can say is on that red zender corrado where it says "turbo on the alloys" except the on these wheels it says "16v" now like i said ive NEVER seen these before and probably thinking theyre quite rare and expensive? anyhoos, yes i hope i can make it to edition 38,well ill post here anyway to say. thnx guyz :) (u lot are cool!) just realised ive got some pics of it here at home, if i can get that dam scanner to work.....
Henny 0 Posted July 12, 2005 they were probably just Zender Turbos (original name huh? ) with the Turbo stickers removed and 16V ones put on in their place... ;)
