Only had a C before this and a Mk1 Goof as my first motor. It had loads of dents, only a radio and protested over 60, but it was way cool. Mk1s rock. 8)

Mk11 16V Golf GTI 1987

Fab car.

My husband or should I say Ex hubby had it when we split up, although he did offer it to me.

Then he used to bring it round for me occassionaly to go out and have a burn.

Mk2 Golfs seem to be getting a few votes. I suppose we could also add the worse VW's we have owned. Mine has to be a Golf Mk3 driver sold after two weeks and a Golf Mk3 GTI sold after less than a month.

The Bojmobile:-

Had tonnes of character. Everyone called it Boj and it was the best colour. Only sold it as it started rusting really badly through the rear arch. Wish I knew where it was now! Was sold to some Welsh guys - never seen it Walesy?

mk 1 golf rivage cab. looked great, went great but had to go before the nipper arrived.

Mate that is sweeet! 8)

My best car is always my next car! But so far it's the G60. I also enjoyed my mk3 valver.

I had a MK2 8v Golf GTi rust bucket on an 86 plate as my first Dub then moved to an 88 16v MK2 GTi

both amazing fun to drive, took the 8v round Europe with the misses and she never missed a beat

then blew her head gasket aslmost as soon as we got home

The valver had spaceship mileage and a forked gearbox but an afternoon under the car and swapping

in a recon 8v box she ran for another 40,000 miles before I got my C and started breaking the thing :(

Best previous dub - Helious Blue 89 Golf 16V Turbo.

Worst dub owned - Mars Red 1983 MK1 Golf 16V. It was a rusty peice. I hate MK1s now after that experience! Classic my arse! Ancient relic is a more accurate description!

i had a mkII scirroco scala in grey/silver, sitting in it was the same as the c low to the floor but you felt like u'd been to the gym when u got out, hard work to drive, heavy clutch, no pas and the most unreliable brakes i've experianced, u had to see if someone was stopping 3 cars infront if you didnt want a insurance clame. Got it given by a mate he had a escort gti, he blew the gear box on the escort and seen as i had a works van and he gave me the roccoi gave it back i've not seen it since, he used and abused it, by then i decided i didn't need a car (or was it the girl i was seeing who thought it was ugly?) And it was passed on again. To my knowlage i think the same guy still ownes it but its been sat on his drive ever since i really miss it it was good fun but the C is far superior.....but i really would love to get my hands on a mk I scirroco as a prodject.... dont think i could aford one tho C's a big enough waste of money lol ... oh and i owned a mkIII polo 16 valve when i was 19 which would be the sensible answer!

had a couple of Mk1 Gits all of which were a bag of fun in their own way... normally ran them for 3-6mths, polished them up and shunted on.

still have my first car, a stock '66 bug, as despite it being off the road for about 12yrs now i never plucked up the courage to get rid of it... lining it up for a project run in New Year (obviously after bonnet re-spray and MAF replacement on the C).

for outright fun though, i'd say the bought direct from German army VW 181 i ran for a few summers

I loved my (helios blue with blue leather) MkII Scirocco Scala but I sold it to make way for the rado. Did own both for a couple of weeks though so I got a couple of pix of them together. As has already been said not having pas wasn't ideal, but I still thought it was great. Unfortunately it seemed to be a magnet as people kept on driving into it, the worst one you can see in this pic, dented and scuffed all the way down the pass side. I was not a happy girl....

To echo my comments in the 'how long have you had your rado?' these are the best vag cars I've owned and tbh the C was the best of the lot! ...

However I love the looks of the cab and the power of the leon! 8)
