The brake lines are going, food for though Sean..

I think they are fitted to a bracket on the rear engine mount.. That will help..

Ive just had a look. If i split the exhaust at the down pipe it doesn't look like ill be able to move the exhaust that much further forward and get the room i need..

Options:

1. cut the mid pipe and replace. I think ill be buying a new one anyway and having it ceramic coated.

2. Drop the beam, if i do that ill end refurbing it again.

3. 1 and 2

This is when jobs start to grow arms and legs..

In for a penny and all that! How much is ceramic coating out of curiosity?

No idea, all i know it sound like the only way of achieving a durable pretty finish..

I don't recall the beam being dropped to fit the exhaust?

There is a flange just in front of the cat that i can try and split.. Ill have another look tomorrow to see if I'm missing a trick..

Have spoken to a supersprint supplier and am expecting to hear back on availability of the centre section and correct clamps..

2 wheels joined the BBS in there winter coats today..

No prizes for guessing what that meant, yes the car won..

Beam off, the NS mounting bracket bolt is such a pain but i got there. So now its off, well it would be rude not to. So full refurb will be done, strip, blast, new bushes (again), paint, new brake lines etc.. Wasn't part of the plan but never mind..

Thats the exhaust off up to the cat and the heat shields, will start at the down pipe tomorrow..

Floor pan looking very good. Nice to have a chance to inspect the areas that are normally hidden. The toothbrush and degreaser will be out before any bits go back on…

Thanks Gents…

At the moment:

Exhaust is away for polishing.

Ceramic coating options being explored for remainder of supersprint system.

Rear beam is in the process of being stripped down ready for refurbishment.

On a slightly different note a new daily has arrived.. What a car, standard suspension is great and its nice to have a Corrado to use..

This was a lady owned car most of its life with an outrageous amount of history. Totally standard, factory leather and quite a late one as a registered in 1996. The best bit is under the bonnet..I love 8v Corrados...

That interior is mint! You cant beat an original unmolested example and in one of the best colours too.

Dont they drive nice on standard suspension.

Ahhh it all becomes clear now. Roof gutter trim thief!

Nice addition Micheal. As much as I try to convince the missus, and almost got through, she's right in that it's just not practical having a second C as the daily as its a struggle fitting the two kids in the back! Very envious though. :thumbleft:

They drive very nicely on standard suspension..

Yes the roof trims aren't needed for my VR6 Sean… Apart from the size issue though these are such good cars. Id take one of these over a Valver any day of the week..

Ahhhh Right that's what's been going on very good Micheal. I'd have one of these as a daily no doubt. Now everybody how long before new alloy's go on it?

There won't be any wheel changes… I don't want the VR to be jealous...

It looks like it's worn the mileage well ;)

If you saw the history folder you'd see why, it has been a no expense spared affair for a long time.. I don't want to get too precious of it as the intention is to use it, having said that since i got it:

Wash, clay, wash, medium abrasive polish topped up with a polish/sealant.

Leather cleaned and conditioned

Rear wheels off, cleaned inside and out and a lot of dirt out the arches, fronts tomorrow.

Replacement rocker cover and fan cowling away for blast and powder coat…

All this is normal for a run around i hope...
