Headlight covers

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm Rob, used to be mr LM Plastics, long story short, my company went bust but now I'm back.

I've had a customer from abroad on at me to make some more.

Would anyone else on here be interested? As I'm not sure how large of a batch to do. I'm thinking of starting these in the next few weeks.

Thanks guys.

Rob

How about roof gutter strips or scraper seals??? You'd have a backlog of people kicking your door down for those items I'd imagine!!

This is good news. I would be interested in a set. Would it be possible to do something for the fog lights as well?

I had a set of your old ones and they are still going strong years on.. judging by the cracks in them they've saved my headlights from a few boulders over the years.

Should imagine they'd be easy enough to sell once you started making them again as no one else seems to make a set currently.

I don't think I've seen these particular protectors. You say they're made from flat sheet; how do they attach to the headlight? The ones I've seen are always moulded at the edges so that they wrap/clip onto the light...

Jim, that's great to hear. I love getting feedback like that.

We do everything from flat sheet, so these covers are actually bent where they need to be, just like the rare originals vw produced.

Well I think it's safe to say its been a good response. I'll get some pics on "Face ache" (pace plastics) and start producing a batch ASAP. I'll hold a couple of auctions on eBay to get some donations to the forum.

Thanks guys.

Just to clarify when I said 'cracks' the protectors are still in perfect shape - they've just got a few small 5p size chips in them where they've been shotgunned by some rocks at motorway speeds :) Otherwise they've held up really well over probably 40,000 miles on a car and aren't heavily pitted / opaque like some headlights get, and still clean up really well.

I wet sanded mine and polished them and they come out like new. Although I've not bothered with them for the last 20,000miles.

Should put them back on. Might be interested in some clear ones.
